Recommended bars in Kobe City's Sannomiya area

Raguna Za Bar

Lugna The Bar is an authentic bar located partway up Hunter-zaka (Hunter Slope) from Sannomiya Station on the Kobe Municipal Subway.

The large counter stands out inside the bar. Indirect lighting filtering through openings in the ceiling creates a calm atmosphere.

The menu is not fixed, and if you share the flavors or image you have in mind, they will make a drink for you on the spot.

Depending on the cocktail, it may be garnished with flowers or kinpaku (gold leaf), so you can enjoy not only the taste but also its visual beauty.

The colorful fruit cocktails are also popular. They use different seasonal ingredients such as ao-ringo (green apple), mango, and kiwi.

They are said to have a fresh, juicy feel and natural sweetness, making each glass taste almost like enjoying the fruit itself.

牡丹ちゃん

I ordered berry based cocktails. They were very stylish and cute, with gold leaf in them, flowers on the side, and even strawberry patterned cocktail glasses. The flavors were exactly my kind of taste, and every one of them was really delicious.

Bar Le Salon

Bar Le Salon is a bar that opened in June 1998 in a quiet area of Sannomiya.

The interior has a simple counter-only layout, with downlights creating a calm atmosphere. It offers a setting where you can quietly enjoy your drink with your glass.

They mainly serve classic cocktails, and you can also enjoy drinks that make the most of fresh fruit.

They finish them by blending or squeezing fresh fruit, letting you enjoy the fruit’s own natural sweetness.

Jack Rose is an original cocktail made with zakuro (pomegranate). Its tartness and fruity flavor, which are unique to zakuro, gently spread across the palate.

It has a smooth mouthfeel, and the texture of the ice flakes is pleasantly refreshing.

nicoworld

They have a decent selection of fruit based cocktails, which is nice. The orange and red wine cocktail, banana milk, and the pineapple and vodka cocktail all have great flavor and taste good.

We had cocktails made with unshu mikan (Satsuma mandarin), banana, and zakuro (pomegranate), plus a martini. Everything was top level. Delicious. The service was also excellent, so I wish I had a place like this near home. I’ll definitely be back!

Savoy Kitanozaka

Savoy Kitanozaka is an authentic bar on the 4th floor of a multi tenant building, just north of Sannomiya Station on the Kobe Municipal Subway. Loved by many regulars, this popular spot can fill up on weekend nights.

The bartender's kind service also gets great reviews, so even first time visitors can relax and enjoy their drinks.

The cocktails are served after carefully asking about things like alcohol strength and sweetness, so you can find a drink that suits your taste.

The "Monthly Flower Cocktail," inspired by seasonal flowers, is also popular.

The photo shows the popular "Sol Cubano." It is a cocktail made with white rum, tonic water, and grapefruit.

The fresh taste of the rum is paired with the tartness and sweetness of grapefruit, making it a light and refreshing drink.

Yuiグルメ

This time, I had a refreshing fruit cocktail that made the most of the bright flavor of orange. The balance of citrus sweetness and tartness was nice, and the light fizz made it go down smoothly. The alcohol was not too strong either, so it is also recommended for people new to cocktails.

花谷

For my second drink, I had a creative cocktail called something like Arusutoromeria (Alstroemeria), and this one tasted great too. I think it had a refreshing flavor, with the sweetness of Galliano adding richness. It seemed to be a monthly special, so the next time I visit, I’d like to try a different cocktail as well.

Yanagase

Yanagase is a bar tucked away in a residential area between Sannomiya Station and Kitano. Founded in 1966, it has a long history, but the atmosphere is calm and relaxed without feeling formal.

The dimly lit interior features a stately counter, with rows of liquor bottles lined up right in front of you.

They serve cocktails such as monthly specials, birthstone cocktails, and fresh fruit cocktails.

The board clearly lists the base spirit and flavor profile, making it easy even for first-time cocktail drinkers to choose.

The food menu is also extensive, with not only standard snacks such as cheese, salami, and mixed nuts, but also light meal options.

The “Butter Toast” is said to be crispy toasted bread generously spread with butter.

ランドリーman

I looked at the board and ordered a grapefruit cocktail. It came out shortly after. The grapefruit cocktail had a light sweetness, but was clean and refreshing.

BAR SLOPPY JOE is an authentic bar inspired by a good old port town. Located near Ikuta Jinja (Ikuta Shrine), it is popular as a place where you can relax and spend time in Sannomiya.

Inside, soft orange-toned lighting gives the space a calm, moody atmosphere.

They serve a wide range of cocktails, including fruit cocktails made with seasonal fruit. Based on original recipes, they make them right in front of you.

They also offer a monthly "birthstone cocktail," said to be perfect for celebrating with someone special.

Not only cocktails, but the highball lineup is also extensive.

The restaurant’s top recommendation, the Kobe Highball, is a drink served without ice. They say the flavor does not get watered down over time, so you can enjoy its rich taste.

ポポルトポポロ

There was a fruit cocktail listed on the blackboard behind the bar, so I ordered the suika (watermelon) cocktail. Was it a suika mojito? The fresh mint and the sweetness of the suika were so good on a hot summer day that I finished it in no time....

The kuri (chestnut) Alexander, a cocktail made with hojicha (roasted green tea) liqueur, was delicious. Next time, I want to try the competition cocktail.

The "Jikasei Herb Sausage (house made herb sausage)" is said to use herbs grown by the owner.

Shin120

A restaurant serving natural wine and Italian food. The wine selection is also very sharp, but what really impresses is the ingredients and cooking methods in the dishes paired with it. Everything I tried was delicious, and above all, it goes perfectly with the wine. Even if you are not looking for a full meal, it also works well for a late night Quick Drink!

I found this place when I was on a business trip to Kobe (Kobe). How great is it to have a wine shop with a place to eat. The sommelier introduced me to wines I had never come across before.

Wines Patori

Wines Patory is a wine bar on the first floor of a building down a narrow alley, about a 5-minute walk from Sannomiya Station on the Kobe Municipal Subway.

The walls inside the bar are covered with signatures from wine industry people and famous chefs. The service is also well regarded for keeping a comfortable distance, with no stuffiness and a cozy feel.

They offer Special wines selected from around the world. They also carry rare wines that are hard to find in Japan and limited-quantity bottles.

You can feel their attention to detail in everything from how they pour the wine to the temperature and even the glassware.

Another nice point is that the owner, who knows wine well, picks recommended wines by getting a sense of each guest’s tastes through conversation.

Not only beginners who do not know much about wine, but even seasoned wine lovers can enjoy it.

サイや

I visited with a reservation. Today, I had a magnum bottle of champagne. The way the bubbles rose was incredibly impressive. The aroma that spread in my mouth was irresistible. The wine was CLOS DU MARQUIS 2010. Its deep flavor changed with every sip, which made it irresistibly good.

ZIV

Above all, the owner has a deep knowledge of wine. He picks up your preferences and your mood that day through conversation, and with each glass, his selections move a little closer to your sweet spot. It even feels like he plans the whole flow, starting light and gradually building more body, and before you know it, you are completely in Omakase mode.

吉本里帆99983

One thing that stands out about this place is that you can enjoy original cocktails paired to go best with each parfait. I enjoyed the tiramisu parfait with Blaze (black oolong tea × barley × maple × soda).

せつない花

The strawberry mousse parfait I had comes with pie and strawberries on top. When you place them on the plate and eat the strawberry mousse together with the crisp pie, the pistachio accent and the sweetness of the strawberries go amazingly well together♥️The cocktail is also light. First, you enjoy it while mixing it, then at the end you add milk. It was my first time having an experience like this, and I was excited the whole time(笑)

Za Bajei Daburyu Hato

The JW Heart is a bar with a great location on the 17th floor of The Orient, about a 10-minute walk southeast of Motomachi Station on the JR Kobe Line. At night, you can enjoy Kobe's night view from the windows.

During the day, it operates as a cafe and also serves Italian food and afternoon tea sets.

At bar time, you can enjoy cocktails carefully made one by one by the bartender.

Along with standard cocktails, they also offer seasonal cocktails inspired by Japan’s four seasons, which is part of the appeal because you can enjoy flavors unique to that time of year.

They also offer easy to order snacks, as well as sandwiches, pasta, and hamburgers.

Asano Nihon Saketen SANNOMIYA

Asano Nihon Saketen SANNOMIYA is a standing bar popular for letting you casually enjoy Japanese sake, just a 3-minute walk from Motomachi Station on the JR Kobe Line.

The owner and staff taste more than 500 labels a year and source only carefully selected Japanese sake directly from the breweries. On the first floor, you can sample almost all of the Japanese sake.

The restaurant offers about 100 kinds of Junmaishu, mainly local Japanese sake from Hyogo Prefecture. In addition to standard labels, they also carry rare labels.

The recommended "tasting set" lets you compare 3 weekly rotating Special Japanese sake selections.

They also serve snacks that pair well with Japanese sake.

The most popular item, "Sabaya Toro Saba Kunsei no Aburi," is a dish of richly fatty mackerel lightly seared. The smoky aroma and just-right saltiness are said to go well with Japanese sake.

I started with the good value drink comparison set of Tatsuriki (Japanese sake brand). It is standing-room only, but the recommended sets change out often, so you can casually enjoy Japanese sake here.

This time, we mainly enjoyed rare Japanese sake such as "DATE SEVEN." The staff gave careful explanations, which helped us learn more deeply about the world of Japanese sake.
