    How do I make an online reservation?
    A
    1. Enter your reservation details
    ・Select the date and time of your reservation.
    ・Select your preferred reservation option (you will see the details when you make your selection).
    2. Log in / Sign up
    ・To create a new account, enter the email address you want to register and follow the steps as prompted. If you’re logging in, enter your registered email address.
    ・A verification code will be sent to your email. Please return to the verification screen and enter the code provided.
    3. Guest details
    ・Enter guest details (skip if already registered).
    ・Choose a payment method.
    *After entering payment details, you may be asked to complete a security authentication (e.g., entering a password).
    *Payment details will be used to charge the system usage fee (JPY 440 per person) and cancellation fee if applicable.
    4. Reservation confirmation and completion
    ・Confirm your reservation.
    ・Complete your reservation.
    ・You will receive an email confirming your reservation (please be sure to check the contents).

    How can I change my reservation?
    A
    1. Access to the reservation confirmation page
    ・In the reservation confirmation email, you will find a link at the bottom of the "You can review/change/cancel your reservation by clicking on the link below." in the reservation confirmation e-mail.
    ・The reservation confirmation page will appear.
    2. Reservation Number Entry and Phone Number Verification
    ・Enter the 10-digit reservation number provided in the reservation confirmation e-mail and press the "Send" button.
    ・Receive a phone number verification e-mail, and click the link in the e-mail.
    ・Enter the phone number you entered at the time of reservation, and click "Authenticate and proceed to the confirmation screen".
    3. Viewing and Changing Reservations
    ・The details of your reservation will be displayed for your confirmation.
    ・Only the date, time, and number of people can be changed. Make changes as necessary and confirm the changes.
    ・An e-mail will be sent to you to confirm the changes.
    *If you wish to change reservation information that cannot be changed on the website, please contact the restaurant directly.

    How can I cancel my reservation?
    A
    1. Access to the reservation confirmation page
    ・In the reservation confirmation email, you will find a link at the bottom of the "You can review/change/cancel your reservation by clicking on the link below." in the reservation confirmation e-mail.
    ・The reservation confirmation page will appear.
    2. Reservation Number Entry and Phone Number Verification
    ・Enter the 10-digit reservation number provided in the reservation confirmation e-mail and press the "Send" button.
    ・Receive a phone number verification e-mail, and click the link in the e-mail.
    ・Enter the phone number you entered at the time of reservation, and click "Authenticate and proceed to the confirmation screen".
    3. Viewing and Canceling Reservations
    ・The details of your reservation will be displayed for you to review.
    ・Please check the checkboxes and click the "Cancel" button.
    ・An email will be sent to you confirming the cancellation.
    *Please note that if the restaurant has a cancellation policy, you may be charged a cancellation fee by the restaurant if you cancel in violation of the policy.
    *Please note that the system usage fee will not be refunded even if you cancel the reservation.

    I'm having trouble modifying/cancelling a reservation.
    A

    • Please contact the restaurant directly if you cannot complete the steps online.
      *Restaurants are responsible for managing reservations, which means that Tabelog cannot manage them on your behalf.

    I did not get a confirmation email.
    A
    • An automated confirmation email is sent to your registered address once you make a reservation through the Tabelog Reservation Service.
      If you have not received a confirmation email, please check whether you have any spam filters enabled and whether your email is configured to only receive messages from specific domains.
    • *If your mail server is configured to only receive messages from specific domains, please ensure you can receive emails from @tabelog.com.

    How do I change my registered email address?
    A
    • The email address for reservations on the site cannot be changed once reservations are confirmed.
      Please contact the restaurant to change your contact information.

    How do I check my reservation?
    A
    • You can check your reservation details in two ways: via the reservation confirmation email, or by logging in through the app.
    • Check via the reservation confirmation email:
    • 1. Click [Check the reservation details] in the confirmation email, and when the [Check the reservation details] page appears, enter the 10-digit reservation number and send.
    • 2. A notification directing you to the confirmation page will be sent to your registered address.
    • 3. Check your reservation by accessing the link in the email and entering the phone number that you registered when making the reservation.
    • *Please contact the restaurant directly if you do not receive an automated response or cannot complete the steps due to an error.
    • Check via the app:
    • 1. Open the app and log in.

    • 2. Open the "Reservations" tab to view your reservation.
    • *If you can’t find your reservation in the app, please check via the confirmation email.

    I did not cancel my reservation without notice, but it was treated as a no-show cancellation.
    A
    • Please contact the restaurant directly, as the restaurant manages reservations.
    • If you have contacted the restaurant, but they will not rescind the no-show cancellation, please get in touch with us via the Contact Us form.

    How do I make a request to restaurants about matters like dessert plates, seating selection, etc.?
    A
    • Please check with the restaurants to see if they can fulfil your request.
    • *Tabelog cannot respond to inquiries submitted to us, as each restaurant manages its reservations.

    How do I check if my reservation is subject to cancellation fees?
    A
    • Check your reservation confirmation email.
    • Restaurants establish their own cancellation policies, and you may be charged cancellation fees by a restaurant if you invalidate this policy. Cancellation policies established by the restaurants, and the restaurant itself, not the Tabelog platform, is responsible for charging them.
    • Cancellation fees will be charged in the following situations.
      ・When reservations are cancelled in violation of a cancellation policy.
      ・No-shows without formal cancellation.
    • Cancellation fees will be charged to the payment method used during the reservation process.
      An email notification will be sent when a cancellation fee is charged.
    • *For information on cancellation policies, please refer to your reservation confirmation email or reservation page.
      *If the fee includes a decimal, it will be rounded down to the nearest whole number.
      *The restaurant’s cancellation fee with the corresponding charge date will be reflected on the credit card statement.
      *If you have any questions regarding cancellation fees, please contact the respective restaurant(s) directly.

    How is my payment method being charged?
    A
    • Your payment method is charged for system usage fees and cancellation fees (if applicable). It is not used to pay your bill at any restaurants you reserve through Tabelog.
      The system fee (JPY 440 per person) is charged immediately when the reservation is confirmed.
      If the reservation is subject to a cancellation policy, the applicable cancellation fee will be charged to the registered payment method in accordance with the reserved restaurant's cancellation policy. Cancellation policy charges are incurred at the discretion of the restaurant for violations of the cancellation policy as detailed at the time of reservation.
    • *Dining charges are not automatically charged to the payment method registered at the time of reservation. Please pay the restaurant directly on the day of your visit.

    Tell me about paying the system usage fee when using a debit card/prepaid card.
    A
    • The system usage fee (JPY 440 per person) is charged immediately upon confirming the reservation.
    • The system usage fee is paid to Tabelog via immediate payment. Please note that no refunds will be issued for cancellations made for customer reasons.

    I want to know the costs involved when booking.
    A
    • Tabelog charges a system usage fee of JPY 440 per person* at the time of reservation.
      System usage fees are generally non-refundable. However, if a restaurant initiates a cancellation, the system usage fee for that reservation will be refunded.
      If you cancel a reservation and then make a new one, the system usage fee (JPY 440 per person) will be charged again.
    • Please pay for your meal at the restaurant on the day of your reservation.
    • *The system usage fee may be subject to change without notice.
  • Q
    Is it mandatory to register a form of payment on Tabelog?
    A
    • Yes, Tabelog requires all users to register a payment method when making a reservation.
      The registered payment method is used for the following purposes:
    • - Payment of the system fee
      - Payment of cancellation fees
    • If you do not have an eligible payment method, please prepare a supported payment method before making a reservation.

    Do I need to use the same payment method I registered to make my reservation when paying at the restaurant, as well?
    A
    • No. Please check the restaurant page for payment methods accepted at the restaurant.
    • Only the system fee charged at the time of reservation (JPY 440 per person) is paid using the registered payment method on Tabelog. You must settle any payments at the restaurant in person on the day of your visit.

    I noticed a small charge, such as JPY 2, that I do not recognize.
    A
    • A small charge, such as JPY 2, may be made to verify the validity of your registered payment method.
      Even if this amount appears on your billing statement, it will be refunded at a later date after the verification is completed.
    • *When you register a new credit card, a card validity check will be performed. Once a credit card has already been verified, this charge will not occur again for the same card.

    • "Most reserved by travelers"
    • Ranking is based on the number of dinner reservations made through Tabelog's online reservation system 14 to 8 days in advance. In the case of a tie, priority is given to restaurants that support multilingual online reservations and those using our paid customer attraction services for businesses*. The number of reservations is divided by language, with displayed rankings representative of the most booked restaurants in the displayed language.
    • "Most reserved by locals"
    • Ranking is based on the number of dinner reservations made through the Japanese-language version of Tabelog's online reservation system 14 to 8 days in advance. Priority is given to restaurants that support multilingual online reservations. In the case of a tie, priority is given to restaurants that use our paid customer attraction services*.
    • "Most viewed"
    • The ranking is based on the number of restaurant page visitors on the multilingual version of the site over the past week. In the case of a tie, priority is given to restaurants that support multilingual online reservations and those using our paid customer attraction services for businesses*. The number of visitors is counted by language, and the ranking shows the most viewed restaurants in the displayed language.
    • *In Tabelog's restaurant search, we prioritize displaying restaurants that support multilingual online reservations to encourage more customers to make reservations online. Additionally, following our policy to promote traffic to restaurants with comprehensive information, we prioritize displaying restaurants that utilize our paid customer attraction services and voluntarily share various information.

    • Restaurants are sorted by their Tabelog rating, from highest to lowest.

    Is there a multilingual version of the Tabelog app?

    I want to stop receiving emails from Tabelog.
    A
    • To unsubscribe from Tabelog emails, please follow these steps:
    • 1. Click “Manage subscription” in the email you received.
    • 2. Uncheck the items you no longer wish to receive.
    • 3. Click “Confirm.”
    • *Changes may take a few days to take effect. You may still receive emails during this period.

    How do I log in or sign up?

    • You can log in or sign up either by following the on-screen steps when making a reservation, or through the app.

    • 1. Open the app and tap "Log in / Sign up" in the "Other" tab.
    • 2. Enter your email address.
    • 3. A verification code will be sent to your email. Enter the code provided.
    • 4. For new accounts, please set your name and phone number.

    What can I do after signing up?

    • You must sign up and log in with your account details to make an online reservation. After signing up and logging in, you can:

    • ・Save your guest information to speed up your next reservation

    I want to update my guest details.

    • You can update your guest details in the app.
    • 1. Open the app and log in.

    • 2. Open the “Other” tab and tap “Settings” next to your email address.
    • 3. Tap “User details” settings, update your name and phone number, then tap “Save changes”.
    • *Changes won’t apply to reservations that have already been confirmed. Updated information will apply to future reservations.

    I want to delete my account.
    A
    • You can delete your account in the app.
    • 1. Open the app and log in.

    • 2. Open the "Other" tab and tap "Settings" next to your email address.
    • 3. Tap "Delete account", review the important notes, and check the box.
    • 4. Tap "Delete account".
    • 5. Tap "Delete" to confirm.
    • *If you have an upcoming reservation, you can’t delete your account. Please delete it after your visit date/time has passed.
