The restaurant has calm lighting and jazz playing, giving it a grown-up atmosphere. Even though it is in Saitama's busiest downtown area, you can still relax and take your time there.

The “Mogura tokusei okonomiyaki (Mogura special savory pancake)” is packed with cabbage and has a crisp, crunchy texture. It is said to be thick and very filling.

You can also enjoy other varieties, such as the “butatama okonomiyaki (pork savory pancake)” made with pork and the “mochi cheese okonomiyaki (rice cake and cheese savory pancake)” with the rich taste of cheese.

The menu centers on Teppan-yaki, with a wide lineup that includes okonomiyaki (savory Japanese pancake), seafood, a la carte dishes, and desserts. They also serve many kinds of steak, including Outside skirt, Strip loin, and Tenderloin.

One of the best parts of Teppan-yaki is that you can request how you want it cooked.

マダム⭐キム

It is in the basement of the shopping street in front of the station, and a municipal bicycle parking lot is very close by. None of the drinks in the All you can drink option are watered down, the All you can drink quality is high! I paid about JPY5000 all included, but it felt like a great deal, and all the food was delicious. I especially like the Outside skirt, ajillo, and okonomiyaki (savory Japanese pancake).

Janjan

Janjan, about a 5-minute walk from JR Kita-Urawa Station, is an izakaya loved by Saitama locals where you can enjoy a lineup of Osaka gourmet dishes.

The interior has a bright and lively feel, with a compact total of 25 seats. Sports are shown on the TV, and on game days the whole place comes together and gets excited.

You can enjoy Kansai-style okonomiyaki (savory Japanese pancake) made by mixing the ingredients into the batter before grilling. The standard choice is the "Osaka Meibutsu (Osaka specialty) Butatama with a soft and fluffy batter full of yamaimo (Japanese mountain yam)," a classic okonomiyaki said to be packed with cabbage and pork.

People say you can fully enjoy a flavor loved in Osaka right here in Saitama.

"Kushikatsu" is also one of Osaka’s signature local foods. It is a kushiage (deep-fried skewer) dish made by skewering ingredients such as meat, vegetables, and seafood on bamboo sticks and frying them until crisp.

Another feature is that it is served with sauce in a silver container. There is also a local Osaka rule that you dip each skewer in the sauce only once.

The three of us ordered quite a lot: 2 okonomiyaki (savory pancakes), beef tendon and green onion negiyaki (green onion pancake), modan-yaki (noodle-filled savory pancake), kaisen bakudan natto (seafood bomb natto), and kushikatsu (deep-fried skewers)! Every dish was great, and this is one of the places in Kita-Urawa that makes me want to come back again!

Besides okonomiyaki (savory Japanese pancake), they have lots of Kansai-style food. This time, we sat in the raised seating area and ate our fill of okonomiyaki, negiyaki (green onion pancake), kushiage (deep-fried skewers), and more. They also have a great drink selection, and this time we chose All you can drink and enjoyed some tasty Japanese sake☺️

チワワちゃん0228

The cooking instructions were clearly written, so they were a good reference from~! There was also an hourglass! Everything was delicious, and I was totally Manzoku! It had been a while since I last had monja (savory pan-fried batter), but the Baby Star monja was the best! The portion of yakisoba (fried noodles) was just right too, which was nice!

Waizu Urawa Ten

Waizu Urawa Ten is a local chain Teppan-yaki restaurant with locations mainly in Saitama. This large restaurant has about 150 seats in total, with box seats and zashiki (tatami seating), and many families and groups visit.

With support from the staff, guests can cook the food themselves and have a fun time.

The batter is said to be soft and light, bringing out the sweetness of the cabbage and other ingredients. The secret sauce has just the right acidity, making it taste light and refreshing.

The most popular item is the "Waizu-ten." It contains pork, mochi (pounded rice cake), and yamaimo (Japanese mountain yam), with the richness of cheese as an accent.

To finish the meal, many people order the "Waizu yakisoba (fried noodles)." It is a flavor packed yakisoba with big pieces of pork, squid, and octopus.

They recommend giving it a quick stir fry so it cooks through, then eating it while changing up the taste with mayonnaise and sauce.

efbb3f

The batter is light and airy, and you can really taste the sweetness of the cabbage and other ingredients, which comes together in great balance with the sauce and mayonnaise. The top recommendation is the classic version with pork and seafood, and the savory aroma right as it finishes cooking really whets your appetite. The style where you cook it yourself is a lot of fun.

敬遠ぎみのフォアボール

It’s an okonomiyaki (savory Japanese pancake) restaurant you can drop into casually, but the quality is the real deal. In addition to okonomiyaki and monjayaki (Tokyo-style pan-fried batter), the menu also has plenty of options like Hiroshima-yaki (Hiroshima-style savory pancake), and the seafood monjayaki with Baby Star noodles was especially tasty. We cooked it ourselves, but the instructions were clearly and carefully written, so we had no trouble and really enjoyed it.

Urawa Kotegaeshi

This okonomiyaki restaurant is located inside the commercial complex Urawa Parco, just a 1-minute walk from JR Urawa Station. You can casually enjoy Teppan-yaki dishes made with carefully selected ingredients and dashi (Japanese soup stock) while taking a break from shopping.

The space has a calm atmosphere with a Japanese modern theme. The staff cook the food at your table, so you can relax and enjoy your meal.

The okonomiyaki (Japanese savory pancake) is made with top quality flour and mountain yam for a light, fluffy finish, and people say it tastes great thanks to the deep dashi made from seafood and Domestic chicken bones.

The photo shows the “Marugoto Camembert Cheese no Mille-Feuille Yaki,” which is mixed in and cooked. When you cut into the finished okonomiyaki, rich melted cheese flows out from the center, giving it a full, satisfying flavor.

The oyster okonomiyaki (savory pancake) with large Hiroshima kaki (oysters) uses plenty of oysters from Hiroshima Prefecture, Japan’s top production region. Their rich flavor is said to soak right into the batter.

Cooking them gives the kaki a plump, springy texture, and wrapping them in the batter helps keep all that juiciness locked in.

カオリル5190

We conquered the Teppan-yaki, okonomiyaki with green onions and beef tendon, MIX monjayaki, and MIX modan-yaki (modern-style savory pancake)! The staff can cook it for you, but we chatted, followed the easy-to-understand illustrated recipe while timing it with an hourglass, then cooked and ate it ourselves and had a great time.

We had the okonomiyaki restaurant's special salad, the standard mix-yaki, and mix yakisoba. When we asked, they kindly cooked them for us. After grilling for 4 minutes on each side, the mixed okonomiyaki with plump shrimp was ready♪ It was so good I almost forgot to take a photo^^

The Nonaka-yaki is delicious. The texture is interesting, combining a crisp outer layer with the soft okonomiyaki (savory pancake) inside. The squid tentacles butter Teppan-yaki, the Fuwapo-yaki, and everything else all had bold seasoning. The soy sauce-based dishes add nice contrast, so the sauce flavors never feel too heavy. I enjoyed everything all the way through to the final dessert.

モブぴよ

The restaurant’s house sauce had a nice kick of spices and made it feel like a new kind of okonomiyaki (Japanese savory pancake) unlike anything I’d had before! It may not be for everyone, but the regular sauce was also tasty, so either one works ◯

Everything was delicious. The top recommendation is their signature Hiroshima-yaki (Hiroshima-style okonomiyaki)! The yakisoba inside and the egg on the outside were both great. If you are not sure what to order, this is the one to try first. The natto okonomiyaki was also fresh and tasty, so natto lovers should definitely give it a try.

This is a local okonomiyaki restaurant that's easy to drop into. The menu has both Hiroshima-fu (Hiroshima style) and Kansai-fu (Kansai style), and if you ask, they will cook it on the kitchen's Teppan-yaki grill and bring it to you ready to eat, so it may be perfect for people who find cooking it themselves a hassle.
