Photograph:yamada / 山田
Tempura Tsuji is a restaurant where you can enjoy top quality tempura made with carefully selected ingredients and skilled technique.
The interior has a white color scheme and the feel of a refined hideaway for adults. It offers both counter and table seating. People also say the hospitality is excellent, not just the food.

A standout dish you can only really find at this restaurant is the sekogani (female snow crab) tempura. It is a luxurious tempura packed with all of the crab's outer roe, inner roe, and meat.
The rich inner roe and the popping texture of the outer roe are said to be irresistible. The tempura here focuses mainly on seafood and vegetables, and reviews say each piece has a light texture and is easy to enjoy.
Photograph:ポチグルメ♂
The dobin-mushi (teapot soup) at Tempura Tsuji is said to have a rich broth made from hamo (pike conger) and matsutake (matsutake mushroom).
It contains a taro dumpling filled with matsutake and shrimp, and it is said to have a soft and chewy texture. The ginkgo nuts are pleasantly bitter, and the hamo is plump and tasty as well.

It is a tempura restaurant, but not just any tempura restaurant. I enjoyed a course that went beyond tempura and felt more like creative cuisine. Their attention to flavor is clear, and of course I also enjoyed the way the meal was served.

Superb tempura. The tempura is fried to perfection, light and crisp. I got the impression that the Special ingredients are used to their fullest. It was one of my top favorite tempura meals I’ve had so far.

This restaurant uses 100% soba noodles. The “Shiro SHIRO” is an original dish made with kurotsuyu (dark dipping sauce) blended with soy milk.
The gentle flavor of the sauce pairs very well with the soba, they say. There is also the “Taro Set,” which you can enjoy with a tempura Rice bowl.

The signature 100% soba has a rich aroma, a nice firm bite, and a satisfying feel. The dipping sauce is slightly strong, but the dashi comes through nicely and tastes great. The tempura and small side dishes are also plentiful, making for a lineup you can enjoy with Japanese sake.

The restaurant has a stylish atmosphere and looks easy to visit even on your own. It’s nice that you can adjust lunch portions, like asking for less rice. The vegetable tempura is crispy and tasty, and the soba (buckwheat noodles) is also simply good. I recommend the cold soba.

The most popular option is the “Tenju Course.” Centered on a selection of recommended tempura, it lets you enjoy Japanese dishes such as sashimi and soba.
The tempura is served in several rounds, so you can always enjoy it freshly fried. The satsumaimo (sweet potato) with its rich texture and the thick, meaty hotate (scallop) are said to be especially good.
Reviews say the sashimi included in the courses and lunch set meals is outstanding, with excellent freshness.
The selection includes seasonal seafood such as Sea Bream, tuna, and kanpachi (greater amberjack), depending on the time of year.
残業カロリー摂取中
The course meal is well balanced from start to finish, and the sashimi (raw fish) at the beginning is exceptionally fresh. Everything was very good, and I had such a happy time. Every dish was delicious, and even the tentsuyu (tempura dipping sauce) alone pairs well with Japanese sake. At the end, you can choose from Tempura Rice bowl, tencha (tempura over rice with tea broth), or Sarashina soba (thin buckwheat noodles), so it might be best to choose based on how Manpuku you are. But I recommend the Tempura Rice bowl.

What a treat, this place fries and serves each piece of tempura right in front of you! Such a luxurious lunch from midday〜. I took my time enjoying each piece while they explained them one by one. The shrimp was plump and springy, and the squid was very tender. The vegetables were renkon (lotus root) and kakiage (mixed vegetable tempura fritter). Everything was really delicious!! The Kamiyama Shiitake (shiitake mushroom from Kamiyama) at the end was especially outstanding.

Tempura Yamanaka is a tempura restaurant that uses seafood from Akashi and Awajishima (Awaji Island), along with seasonal vegetables.
The restaurant values a relaxing atmosphere, and you can fully enjoy your meal at the table seating. It has an open kitchen, so you can also watch the tempura being fried.

This place has a great reputation for its strong focus on fish from Akashi (a coastal city in Hyogo) and for tempura made with ingredients unique to the restaurant. They say the local seasonal fish is served in large pieces.
The root vegetable tempura is also said to be excellent. You can enjoy it with wasabi, salt, or tentsuyu (tempura dipping sauce), whichever best suits the ingredient.

To finish the course, you can choose either "Tendon (tempura rice bowl)" or "Tenchazuke (tempura with rice in broth)." The "Tendon (tempura rice bowl)" comes with hearty tempura over rice. The flavorful tempura sauce pairs perfectly with the crisp tempura, according to reviews.
"Tenchazuke (tempura with rice in broth)" is a dish where broth is poured over rice and tempura, and it seems like a great fit To finish the meal.

We enjoyed a menu centered on fish from the local Akashi daytime catch, along with seasonal items like satsumaimo (sweet potato) and kuri (chestnut).

I still like the tempura here best! The light, crisp batter, the great fish from Akashi (a city in Hyogo) caught in the local day haul, and Yamanaka-san’s skill all came together for a fantastic meal.

What left the biggest impression on me were hirame (flounder) and satsumaimo (sweet potato). Hirame seems to be in season in winter, and I was amazed by its rich flavor. It seemed they did some prep work on the satsumaimo before frying it, and I was shocked by how sweet it was, sweeter than any I had ever had before. The taisho (head chef) also had a wonderful personality, and it made me want to come back again.

Tempura is available not only A la carte, but also as part of the courses. The courses also let you enjoy classic tempura items such as kuruma-ebi ten (tempura Japanese tiger prawn) and eggplant.
The large kuruma-ebi ten is said to be excellent, with the prawn's firm, springy texture and the tempura's crisp bite.

Reviews say the restaurant’s signature nigiri (hand-formed sushi) has an excellent balance between the shari (sushi rice) and topping. The toppings are large and packed with the good flavor of seafood.
They use many kinds of seafood caught in the daytime nets off Akashi as toppings. It is said to be formed with akazu (red vinegar) shari in the Edomae-zushi style.
This time, I had the premium course that blends Akashimae-zushi (Akashi-style sushi) and Edomae (Tokyo-style sushi). I was impressed from the very first dish, the risotto, which was rich and delicious. As expected from Uonotana, my favorite seafood was very fresh, and the sashimi and sushi were incredibly good!

How good the dashi broth in the chawanmushi (savory egg custard) covered all over with sakura ebi (small dried cherry shrimp) was! The seasoning of the simmered fish was also outstanding, and every dish kept my excitement high. The shrimp tempura was also big, crisp, and couldn’t have been better. The seasoning and amount of rice in the 10-piece nigiri set were excellent, and every topping was delicious too.

The sashimi assortment was loaded with Sea Bream, densuke anago (large conger eel), sawara (Spanish mackerel), and more, making it very filling. The Akashi Sea Bream rice was also very good. I could really feel their strong commitment to fish from Akashi.

The exterior has a hideaway feel, and the inside is like a Semi-private room, so even at the counter I could enjoy my meal in a relaxed way! This time I went by car, so I had non-alcoholic drinks, but they seemed to have a great selection of alcohol too! There was plenty of tai-meshi (Sea Bream rice), so I think it would be great to share as a finishing dish with a group!
