Tonkatsu Shabu Shabu Shin is a pork specialty restaurant located right by Exit 5 of Nipponbashi Station on the Osaka Metro, near Kuromon Ichiba (Kuromon Market), also known as Osaka's kitchen. Here you can enjoy Special pork shabu-shabu and tonkatsu.
The bright space has a warm feel, with woody tables lined up throughout. You can stop by anytime from lunch through dinner.
Photograph:ゴウのさんぽ
The pork used for the shabu-shabu is TOKYO X, a branded pork known for its high quality aroma and light sweetness.
Just a quick swish through the broth makes it melt-in-your-mouth tender, letting you enjoy pork that is light yet sweet.
Photograph:mr.ラロさん
The meat for the shabu-shabu can be enjoyed with different flavors by pairing it with ponzu sauce, yuzukosho (yuzu pepper paste), or the house-made nira kimchi (garlic chive kimchi).
Lettuce, green onion, and other vegetables are also briefly swished through the broth, and to finish, zosui (rice porridge) made by letting rice soak up the broth packed with umami and binding it with egg is the perfect ending.

I came to a high-end tonkatsu (Japanese pork cutlet) and buta-shabu (pork shabu-shabu) restaurant in Nihonbashi! Their signature dish is Tokyo X pork shabu-shabu. It has a mild sweetness and rich but not too heavy fat. It tastes amazing with their house-made sweet ponzu sauce! As you keep eating, the sweetness of the pork fat makes the ponzu taste even better. I recommend saving enough room to finish with the rice porridge.

ゴウのさんぽ
The pork has absolutely no off notes, and it’s seriously delicious. First, you add mushrooms like shiitake (shiitake mushroom), enoki (enoki mushroom), and eringi (king oyster mushroom), along with naganegi (Japanese long onion) and tofu. Then you quickly swish the pork, lettuce, and mitsuba (Japanese parsley) through the broth and eat them—it’s unbelievably good, to put it mildly. I personally like pork shabu-shabu more than beef, but this shabu-shabu is so good it changes your whole idea of what it can be.

Hariju Dotonbori Honten is a Japanese restaurant on the south side of Dotonboribashi Bridge, with sukiyaki and shabu-shabu (Japanese hotpot) as its main dishes.
Founded in 1919, this long-standing restaurant has over 100 years of history. It also has roots as a butcher shop, so you can enjoy dishes made with high-quality meat.
Photograph:ゆきいぃ
The exterior has a look that brings out the history of its founding days and the elegance of Japanese style. Inside, there are many tatami matted rooms, and it also has many Private rooms.
There are several shabu-shabu (Japanese hotpot) courses with different grades of meat. No matter which course you choose, you can enjoy melt in your mouth meat made with female Japanese Black Wagyu cattle.
Photograph:DMsan
You can enjoy the shabu-shabu with either the light house-made ponzu sauce or the rich goma dare (sesame sauce).
Served as a course meal, it is also popular for its Appetizers plate made with ingredients that bring out the feel of the season, letting you enjoy the beautiful assortment and flavors you would expect from a Japanese restaurant.
edgeedge
The building has a stately feel, and once inside, we were greeted with attentive service and shown to a Private room. It was a calm, relaxing room. We ordered beer for a toast, and they served Appetizers, so we chatted while snacking on them. Then the meat and vegetables arrived, and we enjoyed shabu-shabu. The meat was lean, but incredibly good. I like sesame sauce, so when I ate it with the sesame sauce, it was even better.

ブリリアントな日々
The meat is unbelievably thick. This is high quality meat. Sukiyaki can feel heavy on the stomach, but shabu-shabu (thin sliced hotpot) is light, so even rich meat like this goes down easily. It’s not the kind of place you’d come to often because of the price, but it has a Private room, so I think it’s a good choice for a Special day.

Tatsuya Namba Ten is a creative Japanese restaurant located south of Nippombashi Station in the lively shopping arcade South Road Sennichimae. You can spot it by its white paper lanterns, and it is on the second floor up the stairs through the lattice door.
The space is stylish with a white color scheme. It also has a gorgeous Japanese modern Private room available by reservation.

The signature dish is the “ultimate dashi shabu-shabu.” The base broth is made from top-grade bonito flakes, kombu kelp from Hokkaido, aged mirin, and other Special ingredients.
You can enjoy plenty of pork from Hokkaido, Kuroge Wagyu (Japanese Black Wagyu) Omi beef, and pesticide-free vegetables grown on the restaurant’s own farm.
Photograph:みやchan♡
Katsuobushi (dried smoked bonito flakes) is a hard preserved food made by smoking and drying bonito. It is shaved to make dashi broth or shaved thin and eaten.
Partway through, they add freshly shaved katsuobushi, so you can enjoy the aroma as it opens up and the umami as it deepens. They also offer a wide variety of dishes and drinks that make the most of katsuobushi.
yuipon95
A tasting comparison of Hokkaido Hokuboku-ton (pasture raised pork from Hokkaido) in the ultimate dashi shabu-shabu. They add plenty of katsuobushi (bonito flakes) to their house-made kaeshi dashi! The base broth was tasty on its own, but the extra bonito adds an amazing aroma and makes you drink too much of it(^^)The sweet Hokkaido Hokuboku-ton is delicious too, but the vegetables are what really impressed me.

The ultra-thin 0.01 mm katsuobushi (bonito flakes) was so light it seemed to melt away. The flavor was gentle, so whether eaten as is or used for dashi (soup stock), I could enjoy the deep umami of the bonito. This time, I reserved a quiet and luxurious Private room in the basement (Private room fee required). The paintings on the fusuma (sliding paper doors) gave the space an even more upscale feel. The staff also had a warm and gentle way of serving, which made a very good impression.

The beef served here is all "Kobe Beef" and other Special Wagyu. They mainly use high quality, tender meat, with a focus on female cattle that have never given birth.
Shabu-shabu and sukiyaki are the main dishes. Both are served in individual Hot Pot pots, so even families can each choose what they want to eat.

The limited quantity lunch menu is also popular. At a lower price than dinner time, you can enjoy shabu-shabu or sukiyaki.
You can also add more meat for an extra charge. They also have a wide selection of alcoholic drinks, so you can enjoy Wagyu while you drink.

Each slice of Kuroge Wagyu (Japanese Black beef) is carefully cut and has a melt-in-your-mouth tenderness. Using premium meat such as Kobe beef and meat from heifers that have never given birth, with close attention paid even to the quality of the fat, being able to enjoy such high quality meat at this price is the height of luxury‼️Inside, the restaurant has a calm space with a Japanese style atmosphere, and the design of the doors and walls is elegant.

Even for an everyday lunch, you can casually enjoy the rich flavor of high quality meat. The limited sukiyaki lunch is a luxurious dish, with melting Kobe Beef (Kobe beef) coated in a rich warishita sauce, bringing out top class sweetness and umami. In the limited shabu-shabu lunch, the good flavor of Kuroge Wagyu (Japanese Black Wagyu) opens up the moment it is dipped in the dashi, and its fine textured tenderness left a strong impression.

The meat used for the specialty pork shabu-shabu is Kirishima Sanroku Buta (pork from the foothills of Mt. Kirishima) from Kagoshima Prefecture and Sanda Pork from Hyogo Prefecture. There are two cuts, belly and loin, and each is sliced to a different thickness so the broth coats it more easily.
You can choose from two types of broth: one based on bonito flakes and one based on kombu kelp.
Photograph:yu1708
They also offer seasonal shabu-shabu, such as buri (yellowtail) shabu-shabu that you can enjoy as sashimi instead of pork, or versions with broth flavored with salted lemon.
There is also a course with All you can eat pork shabu-shabu, and it also comes with "Tenderloin cutlet," made by coating their carefully selected pork in batter and frying it.
mr.ラロさん
The main dish is buta-shabu (pork shabu-shabu), the kind you eat with broth. They also had gyu-shabu (beef shabu-shabu) and seiro (steamed dishes), but we still went with the buta-shabu. There were 6 of us, but we started with 4 servings, which came as a set with meat, vegetables, and tsukune (chicken meatballs). We swished everything in the piping hot broth. Yes, it was good. We enjoyed both the belly and the loin cuts. It was not enough, so we ordered more.

Shabutei Mitsuderasuji Ten is a shabu-shabu specialist near Shinsaibashi Station, close to Daimaru Shinsaibashi. This Mitsuderasuji location is one of several restaurants in Osaka City, and the business has been around for more than 40 years since it first opened.
The 1st floor has a large U-shaped counter, and the 2nd floor has calm, upscale table seating.
Photograph:163hiromin
One feature of the counter seats on the first floor is that each person can enjoy shabu-shabu with their own Hot Pot. You can add the meat and vegetables to the broth at your own pace and enjoy them.
The goma dare (sesame sauce), made by slowly roasting sesame seeds and grinding them with a stone mill into a smooth paste, is also a specialty. This rich and fragrant sauce pairs perfectly with the meat.
Photograph:餃子とさつまいも
There are several courses to choose from, and you can pick beef or pork, a course that lets you enjoy both beef and pork, a course with Kuroge Wagyu (Japanese Black Wagyu), or even a "Kobe Beef" course.
Both the beef and pork are sliced large and thin, and another nice point is that you can enjoy them after just a few seconds in the dashi broth.

As the weather started to get chilly, I found myself craving shabu-shabu (Japanese hotpot), so I made a reservation for the Special Kuroge Wagyu course! The restaurant had a calm atmosphere, and I was shown to a table on the second floor, though the counter seats on the first floor also had a nice feel. I ordered some extra meat as well, but the Kuroge Wagyu really stood out after all... it was tender and delicious!

Gyutan Shabu Shabu Ahochauko is a hideaway-style restaurant tucked down a narrow alley off Mittera-suji in the busy area north of Namba Station, where you can enjoy shabu-shabu made with fresh Beef Tongue.
The first floor has woody Semi-private room seating, while the second floor features entertaining Private room spaces with red interior walls, shoji screens, and Japanese umbrellas displayed on the ceiling.

The Beef Tongue here focuses on freshness, using only tanmoto (the base of the tongue), known for its tenderness and rich flavor. Some reviews even say they were surprised by how good the tongue was.
It is also popular because you can swish it through the dashi broth, then enjoy it with the house made ponzu sauce and the many seasonings set out on the table for different flavor combinations.
Photograph:Alicexx
By reservation, they also offer courses where you can add unlimited-time All you can drink to the gyutan (Beef Tongue) shabu-shabu, as well as courses featuring motsu-nabe (offal Hot Pot) and tori-suki-nabe (chicken sukiyaki Hot Pot).
If you book for a special occasion, they will prepare a plate with Beef Tongue arranged like flowers, and you can enjoy a private celebration in a Private room.

Kagoshima Wagyu tongue. The marbling looks beautiful at a glance, and it turns melt in your mouth tender with just a quick dip in hot water. The moment it hits your mouth, the meat’s flavor bursts out...and the balance of salt and ponzu sauce is just so good. It does not come on too strong, but it still brings everything out nicely. Best of all, every seat is in a Private room. This sense of privacy. The lighting is calm too, so you can quietly focus on the meal.

It’s nice that they offer not only tan-shabu (beef tongue shabu-shabu), but also a wide range of other menu items. They have plenty of snack style dishes and seafood options too. For the final course, there were items like reimen (cold noodles) and rice dishes. It’s also great that you can eat lots of vegetables. The specialty here is the “2-Color Hot Pot,” where you can choose two kinds of broth for your shabu-shabu. There are about seven standard options, including kombu kelp broth, chicken paitan broth, and spicy Chige, as well as “sukidashi,” which gives it a sukiyaki-style flavor.
For the meat, they offer Special Wagyu, pork, and chicken, and they also have a course featuring high quality kuroge wagyu (Japanese Black beef).

The popular choice is the All you can eat plan. The price changes depending on the type of meat, but in addition to the meat, you can eat as many buffet-style side dishes as you like, including vegetables for the Hot Pot and Kara-age.
Another plus is the sauces that go well with shabu-shabu, which you can customize with yakumi (condiments) to make your own original sauce.

I wonder how many extra servings of meat I had (lol). You can choose 2 kinds of broth for the Hot Pot, and this time we picked yuzu shio dashi (yuzu salt broth) and wafu mizore dashi (Japanese-style grated daikon broth)♪ It was good even without adding anything, but with lots of green onions and spices mixed into the goma dare (sesame sauce) and ponzu sauce, you can enjoy even more variety in the flavors♪

The specialty is "tsuri-kinki (line-caught channel rockfish) shabu-shabu." Kinki is a deep-sea fish caught in Hokkaido. It is a premium fish with a bright red body and plenty of rich fat.
Among kinki, this is top-grade kinki traceable even to the person who caught it. When you quickly swish it through the carefully prepared dashi broth that only a Japanese restaurant can offer, it is said to taste outstanding.
Photograph:天王寺の髪の毛屋さん
There is also a course where you can enjoy kinki (channel rockfish) as sashimi, grilled, and simmered dishes, and after the main shabu-shabu, you can savor the flavor of kinki all the way to the zosui (rice porridge) made by adding rice to the tasty broth.
They also offer an Omakase course packed with seasonal ingredients, where you can enjoy Japanese cuisine that looks as beautiful as it tastes.

I had the course meal, and I really enjoyed it from start to finish. The kinki (channel rockfish) Hot Pot was absolutely the best!!! The broth was insanely good. We swished the fish shabu-shabu style, and then the vegetables soaked up the fat and broth too, so the vegetables were super tasty as well. I drank so much of the broth it made me laugh. After they topped it up, we had udon and zosui (rice porridge) To finish. I selfishly asked for both (lol). It’s seriously irresistible if you love broth.

Odashi to Sakana Shun is a restaurant on the 3rd floor of a building near the intersection of Mitsudera-suji and Tamayamachi-suji in the busy Namba area, where you can enjoy seafood shabu-shabu.
The interior has a calm, compact feel, with about 18 seats in total, including counter and table seating, making it a good choice for small groups who want to relax and take their time.
Photograph:yoko5296
The meat used for shabu-shabu is not thinly sliced meat, but skewers of seafood or thinly sliced pork wrapped around vegetables.
A key feature is that you can hold the skewer in your hand and dip it in and out of the broth. People also like the casual style of eating it as is, like kushiyaki (grilled skewers), when it is time to eat.
Photograph:えのもとよしのり
Reviews say the dashi broth pairs well with the seafood ingredients and tastes great. It is also popular because it tastes good even when you drink the broth on its own.
In addition to seafood and meat skewers, if you add large hamaguri (hard clams) and let them cook, their broth joins in, so you can also enjoy a deep, rich umami dashi.

When the kushi-shabu (skewered shabu-shabu) came out, I wondered what it was, but the style here is to swish seafood on skewers in broth and eat it. My honest take is that it was just so good✨It was a style I had never tried anywhere else, with flavors I had never experienced before, and I was truly impressed!! This is a taste you absolutely have to try when you come to Shinsaibashi!!

This was my second visit because the first time was just too good. The dashi (Japanese soup stock) here is unbelievably good. It starts with hamaguri (hard clam), then Sea Bream, hamachi (young yellowtail), shrimp, lettuce, enoki mushrooms, asparagus, and okra. Everything is incredibly tasty. I also recommend the nama-kimchi (fresh kimchi). It is not spicy, it has a nice crunch, and it tastes great! I could keep drinking the dashi the whole time.

Shabu Shabu Onyasai Dotonbori Ten is the Dotonbori branch of a shabu-shabu restaurant chain with restaurants across Japan, located near Ebisu-bashi Bridge over the Dotonbori River, one of Namba's popular sightseeing spots.
The interior has a calm Japanese modern feel, and it is said to have many Sunken kotatsu seating areas where you can take off your shoes and relax.

There are several signature All you can eat shabu-shabu courses. Some courses let you enjoy branded pork such as sangenton (three-breed crossbred pork) and Iberico pork.
There is also a course where you can enjoy shimofuri kuroge Wagyu (marbled Japanese Black beef), and it is said you can eat plenty of top-grade meat as well.
Because they use a rich broth for the shabu-shabu (Japanese hotpot), people say the meat and vegetables taste great even without any dipping sauce.
A key point is the seasonal vegetables sourced from around Japan are cut differently depending on the type, so they pair well with the shabu-shabu. You can also enjoy plenty of vegetables along with the meat.

I had the Kuroge Wagyu (Japanese Black Wagyu) shabu-shabu All you can eat course⸜ ♡ ⸝For the broth, I chose simple kombu kelp dashi for one. For the other, I chose hot pot broth♡ ••┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈•• ♡(*´∀`*)The Kuroge Wagyu and all the other meats were tender and very delicious(*´﹃`*)The dessert at the end was also delicious

There were various plans, but this time I chose the pork course. They also had beef and Beef Tongue plans. First, a toast with a highball! Let’s eat ^ ^ You can choose 2 types of broth from several options, and they also offer a wide variety of vegetables. They also have à la carte dishes, finishing dishes, and desserts, so I was very satisfied. I visited late in the day, but the service was polite and left a good impression.
