Located about a 5-minute drive from Nakakaruizawa Station,
01BAKERY is a lovely bakery with a wooden deck.
The owner trained at "Ichian" in Tokorozawa,
and you can feel the commitment to quality ingredients.
They use 100% Japanese wheat, blending several varieties primarily from Hokkaido.
They extract flavorful notes using their own cultivated yeast.
Carefully selected ingredients include Kamboa salt, beet sugar, deep spring water,
and pasture-raised eggs from Kuro Fuji Farm.
The hospitality from the owner’s wife is refreshing and cheerful,
and I'm definitely looking forward to my next visit.
Here’s what I bought on that day:
1. Hard Toast
Half loaf for JPY 432
Despite being a half loaf, it is surprisingly heavy,
with a dense crumb.
The flavor of the wheat is rich.
2. Whole Wheat Country Bread
Half for JPY 324
This, too, is quite hearty,
imparting a strong presence.
3. Rice Bran Scone
JPY 346
Unless it was mentioned as rice bran,
I wouldn't have guessed its composition,
as it has a mild and natural sweetness.
This was incredibly delicious.
With all the ingredients being safe and trustworthy,
I thoroughly enjoyed everything.
I definitely want to visit again.
