The freshly baked Satsuma was enjoyed on the train. It was generously filled with sweet red bean paste, yet the gentle sweetness of the sweet potato was delightful.
The dough was fluffy and airy, so light that it felt like you could almost drink it. I finished it in seconds.
When I visit, I always want to get the Yasaipan (a soft, slightly sweet bread filled with crunchy coleslaw salad) and An Shio Butter Bread (the roll soaked in butter with sweet red bean and condensed milk cream is irresistible!).
For the first time this visit, I also tried the Fig Butter, which was exceptional. The sweet and tangy fig combined with the richness of the walnuts was addictive.
A light toasting allowed the butter to soak into the bread, achieving that perfect crispy outside and chewy inside.
Although I may have bought a bit too much due to my long-awaited visit, every item was absolutely satisfying!
I visited during lunchtime on the weekend, so the store was packed to the max. While it was a bit disappointing that I could only move in one direction, I can always come back.
