One thing you definitely want to try at this restaurant is the robatayaki (fireside-grilled dish) made with seasonal fish.
The nodoguro (blackthroat seaperch) is said to be excellent, with rich fish flavor spreading in your mouth with each bite. It is also nice that you can change up the flavor with sudachi (Japanese citrus) and grated daikon.

The signature "robata no yaki onigiri (grilled rice balls cooked over a robata hearth)" is a dish grilled until crisp and nicely fragrant.
You can also fully enjoy the umami of the seafood on top, such as ikura (salmon roe) and shirasu (whitebait). To finish, this is something you will want to order.

The warm service and attentive care from the staff also left a good impression. They explained the dishes and suggested the best way to enjoy them, and that thoughtful attention really came through. Robata Hitoiki. is a charming place where you can relax and enjoy charcoal grilled dishes and Japanese sake, and it is the kind of restaurant you will want to visit again and again.

The nodoguro (blackthroat seaperch) robatayaki (fireside grill) was excellent. The Ume Suisho also had finely chopped shark cartilage, and the strength of the plum flavor was just right. The dashimaki (Japanese rolled omelet) had a texture that was soft inside while staying firm around the outside. The salmon roe grilled rice ball to finish is a must. In any case, every dish goes well with Japanese sake.

The "Oebi no Robatayaki (charcoal grilled jumbo prawn)" is a menu item with a refined feel that suits a meal on a Special day.
You can eat it whole from the head, and with its simple seasoning of just salt and lemon, it lets you taste the natural flavor of the ingredient directly.

"Hongatsuo (skipjack tuna) Tatta Ima! Warayaki (straw-seared)" is a carpaccio-style dish of warayaki served with plenty of fresh raw vegetables.
The warayaki is seared all at once after you order, giving it a nicely toasted outside and a rare center with excellent doneness. It also goes perfectly with the tangy dressing.

・Takibi Robata Course
The Private room is very comfortable, and the food is great too. I was especially happy that they served ayu (sweetfish) grilled with salt! You do not often find that at a regular izakaya, so it was a nice surprise! It is also close to the station, so it is very convenient.

The otoshi (small appetizer) was high quality, and the five kinds of obanzai (Kyoto-style home cooking) were very tasty. It was also a robatayaki (fireside grill) restaurant, so I ordered the katsuo (bonito) straw-seared from dish with fresh tomato sauce. It had a great level of doneness with a smoky aroma, and the tomato sauce kept it light and made it very delicious.

Robata Kashiwaya Jihee Meieki is a robatayaki (fireside grill) restaurant with a live feel, where you can enjoy watching the cooking from counter seats set around a huge irori (sunken hearth). Along with fish, you can also enjoy unusual ingredients such as wild boar.
The interior has a design that brings to mind an old kominka (traditional Japanese house), and the atmosphere is said to be excellent. It is recommended for people who want to enjoy a break from the ordinary around Nagoya Station.
The "Ootoro Iwashi no Genshi-yaki (primitive style grilled extra fatty sardine)" is a popular dish, known for its irresistible texture with fragrant skin and tender flesh.
The plump sardine is said to be rich with fat, and when you break it apart with chopsticks, the juices just ooze out.
The yakitori (grilled chicken skewers) cooked over charcoal are appealing because you can also enjoy rare cuts such as torimotsu (chicken offal) and bera (a rare chicken cut).
Each skewer is said to be grilled with care, bringing out the full flavor of the ingredients. They also seem great as snacks to go with drinks.
令和の福沢諭吉
The "genshiyaki (traditional hearth grilling)" boldly grilled over a huge irori (sunken hearth) features one great item after another, including fatty otoro iwashi (extra-rich sardine), gindara (black cod), and extra-large shrimp. The skin turns crisp while the inside stays tender, and the toasty aroma of charcoal whets the appetite. Add a squeeze of lemon, and the rich flavor of the fat stands out even more as the smoky aroma spreads.

Chicken dishes are the main focus here, and one nice point is that you can enjoy a range of rare cuts. They also have parts you do not usually get to eat, and every dish had a flavor that went great with drinks.

The "taimeshi (Sea Bream rice) cooked in Nanbu Tekki (traditional Nambu ironware)" made with carefully selected ingredients is said to be a must-try dish.
If you can’t finish it all, they can make the rest into onigiri (rice balls) for Takeout, so even if you’re close to Manpuku, you can order it without hesitation.

The robatayaki (fireside grill) has just the right smoky aroma, and the skewers are fairly large and satisfying. The grilling and seasoning are exactly to my taste, and you really can’t go wrong with anything you order. It’s also comfortable and easy to enjoy without feeling formal. I’d recommend it for days when you want to properly enjoy good food and beer.

The food and drinks were both delicious, and one big plus is that the otoshi (small appetizer) was sashimi. More than anything, I was happy that even though I left feeling full, the price still felt reasonable. The staff were fun and entertaining, so I’d love to go again!

The "Sake to Ikura no Oyako Clay Pot" with its beautiful contrast of red and green is a real eye-catcher. The fluffy rice is also so tasty that you may end up eating more than you planned.
After mixing all the ingredients together and enjoying it, you can also pour dashi over it and turn it into ochazuke (rice with tea or broth). It's nice that you can enjoy two different ways of eating it in one dish.

They offer plenty of fresh seafood dishes sourced directly from the market! Their Edomae-zushi (Tokyo-style sushi) made with red vinegar and robata-yaki (fireside grilling) cooked over high heat are also excellent. The simple preparation really brings out the natural flavor of the ingredients!

・Salmon and ikura (salmon roe) Parent-and-Child Clay Pot
This amazing Clay Pot rice is cooked only after you order it and uses first-grade rice! It comes topped with lots of sparkling ikura for a really luxurious feel! It was also great as dashi chazuke (rice in broth). Since it was a Private room, we could enjoy our meal without worrying about the people around us! The staff were also very nice.

The "Mega Hokke" is a bold dish made by grilling a whole 6L-size extra large hokke (Atka mackerel). The photo shows a half size, but even that is said to be about the same size as a regular hokke.
It is said to have rich fat, a flaky texture, and great taste.

The sashimi assortment is also well liked. It looks delicious at a glance, and each piece is said to be plump and fresh.
The wasabi served on the side is freshly grated hon-wasabi (Japanese horseradish), and it apparently pairs perfectly with Japanese sake.

Every dish was very delicious, and I was able to feel very Manzoku. I used a counter seat, and they served the rice with a giant shamoji (rice paddle), which was fun too. The sashimi and hokke (Atka mackerel) were especially good, and I definitely recommend trying them. I would like to visit again if I have the chance.
