It has no off notes, and its rich flavor is said to pair very well with alcohol.

The basashi (horse sashimi) sourced from Kumamoto has good marbling and a nice bite, and reviews say it is delicious.

The rich flavor of the fat, which also has a touch of sweetness, is said to spread through your mouth the more you chew.

ヒロかな

It was my first visit, but everything was so good that time flew by! Since it was a Year-End Party, I’m sorry I didn’t take many photos. Please leave the rest to the fun of visiting in person. Haha The sashimi, roast beef, and Appetizers were all spot on!! Please give them a try!!!

Starting with the sashimi, the fresh seafood dishes are outstandingly fresh, and the value for money is surprisingly good. The menu also offers plenty of options such as yakitori (grilled chicken skewers), which is another plus since you can enjoy much more than just seafood. Yakitori Darumuya

Yakitori Darumuya is a yakitori restaurant about a 10-minute walk from Kurume Station, and it is known for its many hearty dishes. It has a strong reputation among locals and is a popular spot with many repeat customers.

They serve their famous kushiyaki (grilled skewers), as well as sashimi and Hot Pot dishes.

One standout is the "darumu (grilled pork white offal skewer)," known for its crisp outside and plump, juicy inside. In the Kurume area, this skewered pork white offal is a local staple.

It is said to be paired with a special sauce that goes perfectly with the sweetness and rich flavor of the fat.

The "sashimi go-ten-ijo mori (assortment of five or more kinds of sashimi)" gets a lot of good reviews for its generous volume. The assortment in the photo comes with 3 slices each of 8 kinds of seafood.

In addition to seasonal fish, it is also known for including octopus and shellfish.

路地裏ごはん録

Just like the name suggests, the signature dish darumu (pork rectum) is truly the best! It’s crisp and fragrant on the outside, with a plump, juicy bite inside. The savory flavor that spreads with each bite and the sweetness of the fat are irresistible. The special sauce has a perfect balance of toasty aroma and richness, and the simply salted grilled version is every bit as delicious.

It was great, with reasonable prices and really good food! If you order thinking it is just a regular izakaya (Japanese pub), be careful because the portions are huge. The sashimi assortment is a must, and each yakitori (grilled chicken skewer) feels about 1.5〜2 times the usual size. The French toast skewer also came decorated on a one-plate dish, which made me a little happy.

This is a wonderful shop made up of wonderful staff who provide excellent service and explanations. Even when serving just one customer, they explain things carefully, bring out the items quickly, and do it all with kindness.

御箸賀 進

During happy hour, beer and gyoza (dumplings) are cheap, and those are the only drinks available! The lemon fizz is still as good as ever! The katsuo tataki (seared bonito) came topped with a huge amount of green scallions, and the mayo and garlic chips went perfectly together and tasted great. The maguro butsu (chunks of tuna sashimi) was also light and fresh, and I personally loved it!

I use this izakaya (Japanese pub) when I’m on business trips to Kurume because it’s right in front of my hotel, and everything I eat here is good!! My top recommendation is the kuro ninniku (black garlic)!! It’s really tasty, and the smell doesn’t linger the next day!! Orders are placed using a touch panel system!

@三平

The menu was extensive, so I could not tell what to recommend, but the gyoza seemed to be one of the highlights, and I enjoyed the small Kyushu-style dumplings. There was also a wide range of drinks, including original highballs and something like a vinegar highball, and I wanted to try them all, but... I gave up for today. I would like to come back again and take my time.

The interior has a design that brings the sea to mind, and it is said to be a place where you can enjoy your meal at a relaxed pace.

The fish shabu-shabu was incredibly delicious, and the sashimi was excellent too. The staff were polite, and they served the drinks and food at just the right timing. We used a zashiki (tatami seating) area, and the seats were clean and comfortable for a group of six adults to enjoy.

First, the ebi-gyoza (shrimp dumplings). They’re sizzling in an iron pan. They already look delicious. Now, one bite. Piping hot. This is so good! From inside the crisp browned wrapper, the shrimp flavor bursts out together with the meat juices. Next, the niku-gyoza (meat dumplings). These are served in an iron pan too. They look so tasty. These are also crisp and juicy.

This popular standard menu item lets you enjoy the juicy flavor of chicken.

This restaurant is about a 5-minute walk from Nishitetsu Kurume Station. It was a very nice place with spacious seating and a calm atmosphere. Their half fried chicken, maybe a house specialty, was crispy, juicy, and really tasty. It is a place I would like to visit again.

I also ordered my favorite chicken wings and age-ton (deep-fried pork). The age-ton is just so much better fresh out of the fryer! I used to get it to go from time to time, but the springy texture of the meat tasted even better than Takeout. The chicken wings were so good that, as always, I just kept ordering more and more and couldn’t stop.

The basashi (horse sashimi) is shipped direct from Kumamoto, so you can enjoy it without going all the way to Kumamoto. I think this is the place for basashi in Kurume. My top pick is chochin (a rare cut near the aorta). The sashimi pieces are big too. I can never decide whether to get another order of sashimi or basashi lol. And then there are the tebasaki (chicken wings) that I love. Nicely salty and crispy. They stay properly crispy even after they cool down. lol

With simple toppings of just noodles and chicken ham, this is a good menu item to finish with when you want something light.

Mr.ホッパー

Every dish had a well-balanced seasoning and great texture. The atmosphere was nice, and although the staff seemed busy, they let us know there would be a delay and still served the food smoothly, so we were very satisfied. As a restaurant that focuses on chicken dishes, it really showed their care and attention to detail.

The lineup here is almost all chicken dishes, and I especially recommend ordering the jidori-yaki (grilled free-range chicken) (the photo shows a half portion). Jidori can often be a bit tough, but this was very tender and delicious. The yakitori was also cooked just right‼️
