Sushi Yotsuba

Sushi Yotsuba is a sushi restaurant about a 3-minute walk from Yotsuya Station on the Osaka Metro Yotsuya Line, and about a 7-minute walk from Shinsaibashi Station.

It is a refined, quietly tucked-away space with counter seating only. As it is by reservation only, be sure to check in advance.

They serve Edomae-zushi (Tokyo-style sushi) made with Special ingredients in an Omakase course.

A key feature is the gently sweet and tangy shari (sushi rice), made by blending white vinegar and red vinegar with small-grain, mild-tasting rice. You can enjoy carefully selected toppings such as maguro (tuna), uni (sea urchin), and awabi (abalone).

A popular course is the "Omakase of seasonal otsumami (small dishes to enjoy with drinks) and nigiri sushi." The seasonal otsumami includes 4〜5 dishes, and the nigiri Omakase comes with 11〜13 pieces, so the portion is more than enough.

They open irregularly on Saturdays and Sundays, and lunch is also well received.

もふもふの食生活

I had not had much experience with Kansai sushi, so I was really looking forward to it. The restaurant is a clean space with about 8 counter seats. It does not feel cramped either. I heard the shari (sushi rice) is slightly on the small side. They said they adjust it well based on each customer. Everything was truly delicious. Personally, the aji (horse mackerel) and akagai (ark shell clam) stood out the most!

NOB diary

Before the sushi, they served several seasonal dishes made with ingredients of the season, and every one of them was very good. For the sushi, the chef sliced the fresh toppings right in front of us. We also got to compare 3 kinds of Sakai-ko Hombaguro (bluefin tuna from Sakai Port) ❣️The Edomae-zushi (Edo-style sushi) made with one fresh topping after another was so delicious that we couldn't stop smiling☺️The chef was also friendly, and we had a fun meal

Sushi Kiwami

Sushi Kiwami is a high-end sushi restaurant about a 4-minute walk from Shinsaibashi Station on the Osaka Metro lines, tucked away at the very back of a building in a hideaway-like setting.

Inside, the restaurant has an L-shaped counter designed to feel like a stage and Private room seating, and reviews say it is a Special place to visit for a special occasion or with someone important.

You can enjoy evolved flavors and fine drinks crafted by the head chef, who specializes in sushi and washoku (Japanese cuisine).

The shari (sushi rice), which supports the toppings sourced with no compromise, is prepared with such care that it is changed to match each fish. The standout dishes served between the course are also said to be carefully prepared by the head chef, who has also honed his skills in washoku.

A new way to enjoy sushi and wine together is also getting great reviews.

The wine list is broadly selected based on what pairs well with the sushi and dishes, without being tied to specific production regions or styles. If you are not sure what to choose, the taisho (head sushi chef) and the head chef will help. The pairing of tuna and red wine comes especially recommended.

関西食い倒れ

In a hideaway location, the bright and upscale interior feels inviting. We enjoyed our meal in a calm Private room! Every piece of Special neta (sushi topping) was excellent, and it paired really well with the sushi rice that gently loosened in the mouth. The seared kinmedai (golden eye snapper), tuna, and toro-taku (fatty tuna and pickled daikon roll) felt luxurious and tasted great. The ate (small dishes to go with drinks) selection was also extensive, so it leaves you with a high level of Manzoku.

Then the nigiri started, with sawara (Spanish mackerel) first. The rice portion was fairly large, so I felt bad asking so early, but from the second piece onward they made the shari smaller for me. The hotate (scallop) nori roll had a fresh citrusy tang like sudachi peel, and it was light and tasty! Then the sanma (Pacific saury) nigiri was rich and packed with umami! My favorite kuruma ebi (Japanese tiger prawn) also came out, and it was plump and had a great bite!

The Omakase course and its flavors were truly wonderful, and every piece had a high level of finish. The way they handled the ingredients and the balance of each nigiri were excellent, and I was impressed from start to finish. The service was polite and pleasant, and I could feel the careful attention throughout. The atmosphere inside was calm, and I was able to spend a Special time there. In a calm space with only 10 counter seats, you can enjoy your meal in a very quiet setting since it is by reservation only. とし丸1971

It was my first time trying jukusei-zushi (aged sushi), and I was amazed at how much the flavor and texture could change even with the same ingredient. The difference was especially clear with the ika (squid). Maybe because the chef was young, they were very communicative, which kept the atmosphere relaxed, and I really enjoyed the meal. The chawanmushi (savory egg custard) with soft roe was the best chawanmushi I’ve ever had. Of course, the sushi was excellent too.

I started with draft beer and also ordered sawara (Spanish mackerel) nigiri on top of the course and Japanese sake pairing. I visited alone, but the staff chatted with me just the right amount, so I had a tasty and enjoyable time. The main focus here is aged sushi, with deep umami, and everything was good. I would like to visit again.

Hasegawa, a sushi restaurant in Shinsaibashi. A luxurious course served at a beautiful counter. The uni (sea urchin), toro (fatty tuna), everything was excellent and went perfectly with Japanese sake. I was more than Manzoku with the many pieces of nigiri that showed off real craftsmanship. Even though I was full, it was a happy time right to the end. The hospitality was just as impressive as expected.

もぐかゆ

One of the best things about this course is that you can take your time and enjoy each plate, packed not only with sushi but also with the appeal of washoku (traditional Japanese cuisine)! Every dish looks beautiful from the way it is plated, making it a feast for the eyes too, with plenty of seasonal feel✨️Another highlight is the live experience of watching the chef carefully shape the sushi right in front of you, and the conversation with the itamae (sushi chef) is fun as well, so you can enjoy your meal in a relaxed atmosphere

A very delicious meal. Every piece of sushi the chef makes is a work of art. The restaurant is also very welcoming to families with children. We thank the chef for accommodating our needs and preparing meals suitable for the children. Our family had a wonderful evening here.

Every dish was reeeally good⸜。The senpoushi kaki (oysters from Senpoushi, Hokkaido) were creamy and nice and plump too! The ankimo (monkfish liver) had a creamy taste that went really well with alcohol and was delicious. The unagi shirayaki (grilled eel without sauce) had a crisp texture, and it was so good with wasabi and salt. Every piece of nigiri was just outstanding.

The "ankimo monaka (monaka wafer with monkfish liver)" had a nice toasty flavor in the marked part, which made it taste even better✨The chawanmushi (savory egg custard) with Camembert cheese was creative and tasty! The sushi rice was just the right firmness, and it really brought out the quality of the toppings☺️The lineup also includes rare sake, and they pair perfectly with the sushi! Rayikin

This restaurant is about a 5-minute walk from Shinsaibashi Station. There is counter seating, as well as several tables, making it a relaxing space. Unlike traditional sushi, it came with a variety of sauces and had a Western touch. It is a mix of tradition and innovation. The sauce on the first unagi (eel) tamago sushi was excellent, and the kinoko (mushroom) kobachi (small side dish) was light and refreshing, giving the whole meal a nice balance♪

It is on the street one block east of Shinsaibashisuji Shotengai (Shinsaibashi-suji Shopping Street). I visited to celebrate my mother’s birthday because she loves sushi. We chose the casual course, and it was more than enough for Manzoku. The grilled sawara (Spanish mackerel) was fragrant, rich, and very tasty. The sushi rice came apart softly in the mouth, and the umami spread across the palate. It was a great meal.

Combined with the lively movements of the chef, it is said to offer enjoyment for both the eyes and the palate.

The toro-taku maki (fatty tuna and takuan roll) is a popular item with many repeat customers. It combines rich toro (fatty tuna) with chopped takuan (pickled daikon), then wraps it in nori (seaweed) for a classic flavor.

With just the right balance of umami and texture, it is well liked as a standard item you can casually snack on.

nnnaaahhhooo

Everything was delicious! Not just the sushi, but the à la carte dishes were amazingly good too. The nama-gaki ponzu (raw oysters with ponzu sauce) had very large, plump oysters with a rich, creamy taste that was fantastic. The grilled hamaguri (hard clams) were also packed with umami. The sushi was Manzoku too. I highly recommend the uni hosomaki (sea urchin thin rolls) because they are so good you could eat as many as you want.

We were shown to the counter seats, and I was impressed by the style of watching the sushi chef carefully shape each piece right in front of us. They were excellent dishes that paired perfectly with drinks.

The “kuruma ebi (tiger prawn)” is available both raw and boiled. Despite its impressive appearance, it is known for the refined sweetness that gently spreads the moment you take a bite.

super152395

I’ve decided that Rishu is the only place where I eat sushi. That’s how good the sushi the taisho (head sushi chef) makes is. He takes fresh, lively ingredients and adds one or two extra steps, which makes them even better. He also teaches you all kinds of things about the neta (sushi toppings), and the way he lives is cool too. I can recommend it with confidence.

They pay close attention to every detail, from the shari (sushi rice) blended with their own mix of 4 kinds of vinegar to the seasoning made with Mongolian rock salt.

The top recommendation is uni (sea urchin), which the chef gently passes from hand to hand.

It is served in a simple, clean style with just a pinch of salt to finish, and enjoying it as is is the kind of pleasure this restaurant is known for. The delicate nigiri, which gently falls apart in the mouth, has won over many people.

angelica_

The careful work really shows, the squid was tender, and it was nice that the bonito wasn’t cut too thick. The maguro (tuna) and uni (sea urchin) from Tottori were incredibly delicious! It was my first time having tachiuo (beltfish) as sushi. Only a pro could grill it that plump and flaky. I’m glad I added the negitoro (minced tuna with green onion)!

One of this restaurant’s unique touches is that you can choose your ochoko (small sake cup) from options made of different materials such as pottery, glass, and brass.

まみむーちゃん

We had the "Omakase Course," a full 18-dish course. Both last time and this time, I was captivated by the chef’s skillful sushi-making. The seasonal dishes and Omakase nigiri were wonderful, and the uniku (sea urchin and meat sushi) served at the end was, as expected, outstanding! I really enjoyed it✨They were just as polite and attentive this time as they were last time, all the way through to seeing us off at the end.

Ganso Bucchigiri Zushi Uoshin Shinsaibashi Ten

Ganso Bucchigiri Zushi Uoshin Shinsaibashi Ten, about a 3-minute walk from Osaka Metro Shinsaibashi Station, is a sushi restaurant with several sister branches across Osaka Prefecture.

It has counter seats and sofa seats. Every seat is bright, and the relaxed atmosphere feels comfortable, so you can enjoy sushi without feeling formal.

The specialty here is the sushi toppings cut in big pieces, bringing to mind a fisherman boldly filleting fish on deck.

In contrast to their striking presence, the shari (sushi rice) has a delicate texture that gently falls apart. The balance of boldness and softness comes together in your mouth for an exquisite taste.

The "uni kibako (sea urchin wooden box)" is popular for its serving style, where you spoon as much uni (sea urchin) as you like onto 6 gunkan and enjoy them.

It is said to be fun to finish them yourself, and lets you fully enjoy the rich sweetness of the uni.

しゃちょっさんにーぶら

I like this place not just because the neta (sushi toppings) are big, but also because the freshness of the fish is quite good. They use a really good cut for the toro (fatty tuna), and it tastes great! The sanma (Pacific saury) was also high quality and delicious, and the ikura (salmon roe) gunkan with an extra generous amount was tasty too!

I think the quality lives up to the bold name Bucchigiri. The big shrimp were plump and springy, the squid had a light sweetness, and the tuna had no off notes. Both the red vinegar rice and the toppings were just plain delicious.

Yoake Sushi

Yoake Sushi is a sushi restaurant about a 6-minute walk from Shinsaibashi Station on the Osaka Metro Midosuji Line, and it is known for its casual, welcoming, and bright atmosphere.

At the counter seats, you can watch the chefs' smooth, efficient handiwork up close. Since it stays open late into the night, it is also recommended for an After-Party or as a spot To finish the night.

Skilled chefs carefully shape each piece of sushi one by one using fresh fish delivered from the market every morning.

With no set courses, one of the big draws is the casual style of ordering from the menu posted on the wall whenever you like. It’s nice that you can enjoy small portions of whatever you want at your own pace.

A top recommendation is the “menegi (sprouted green onion)” nigiri, made by bundling freshly sprouted green onions and placing them on vinegared rice. It stands out for its crisp bite and fresh aroma.

It also works well as a palate cleanser between richer pieces of sushi, and the lightly added bainiku (plum paste) gives it a nice accent.

Tommy.mnB

Although it is in a lively nightlife area, you can feel at ease with the service and the food. This time, I ordered tai (sea bream), ika (squid), hon-maguro (bluefin tuna), shrimp, tamago (Japanese omelet), shrimp tempura, fish akadashi (red miso soup), chawanmushi (savory egg custard), a sunomono assortment, and drinks. The hon-maguro was a nigiri with a large topping that wrapped around the shari (sushi rice) almost 360 degrees. They changed the way they shaped each piece depending on the topping, which made it fun to look at as well.

The neta (sushi toppings) were selected with care by the owner and tasted great. The shari (seasoned sushi rice) had the kind of flavor I like. The neta looked very fresh, and every piece was delicious. The owner also seemed kind and like a genuinely nice person. This restaurant mainly serves an Omakase course, and they did not offer other dishes or A la carte items.

At first, I stopped by after being introduced by an acquaintance who is a chef( ̄^ ̄)ゞIt was not just because it came recommended by someone I know; the food was really good. If I write too much, it might sound over the top, so I should not go that far, but good food is just good‼️That says it all‼️It was the kind of place I would like to keep visiting so I can become a regular m(_ _)m

Shotaro Zushi

Shotaro Zushi is a sushi restaurant about a 2-minute walk from Namba Station on the Osaka Metro Midosuji Line. The lively space rings with energetic calls, and it is said to have a welcoming atmosphere that makes it easy to visit even for first timers.

There are counter and table seats, so you can choose what suits your mood.

With the aim of making luxurious gourmet food more approachable, this place serves authentic itamae-zushi (chef-crafted sushi) made by skilled chefs.

Guests can also order one piece at a time, which is popular because they can enjoy it at their own pace. The recommended "Omakase Nigiri 10 Pieces" is said to be popular for its just-right portion size.

The top recommendation is the "Shotaro Harapan Course." It is a satisfying course that includes Appetizers, grilled dishes, tempura, and a choice of 10 pieces of sushi or a seafood Rice bowl.

The photo shows tachiuo (beltfish) served as part of the course. Its flaky flesh comes apart softly, layered with a nice toasty aroma, and each bite is said to bring simple, honest flavor.

The toro, horse mackerel, sweet shrimp, uni-kurage (sea urchin and jellyfish), and large shrimp tempura are all very good. This sushi spot is right in the center of Namba. I ordered a standard lineup. Everything was fresh and tasty. The sushi was good, but the uni-kurage was a bigger hit than I expected. Wrapped in nori, it had even more flavor and a nice sweet-salty balance. It makes an excellent ate (small dish to go with drinks). The large shrimp tempura was also a satisfying dish.

The interior has a simple wa-modern (Japanese modern) design and a calm atmosphere. The restaurant has counter seating only, so you can watch the chef's movements up close.

One highlight is the performance right in front of you at the counter seats. The live course-style meal is a unique draw of this restaurant.

A popular menu item is toro topped with kinpun (gold leaf powder) and uni (sea urchin). Their signature move is a bold performance where they generously sprinkle gold leaf powder over it at the end.

In the cozy interior with just 6 counter seats, you can enjoy sushi carefully shaped by the chef right in front of you. The 18-course menu uses seasonal Special ingredients such as akagai (ark shell clam), kanburi (winter yellowtail), botan ebi (spot prawn), otoro (fatty tuna), uni (sea urchin), caviar, kinki (channel rockfish), and matsutake (pine mushroom), and every dish is very fresh with a delicate taste. There is also a glamorous performance at the end where gold leaf is sprinkled on top, making it highly satisfying in both looks and flavor✨

Kitaro Zushi Shinsaibashi Ten

Kitaro Zushi Shinsaibashi Ten is a sushi restaurant about a 5-minute walk from Shinsaibashi Station on the Osaka Metro Nagahori Tsurumi-ryokuchi Line. In its stylish and calm space, you can fully enjoy great sushi.

The long and narrow interior has counter seats and zashiki (tatami seating), and for groups of 2 to 4 people, Semi-private room use is also available with partition curtains.

In the tank inside the restaurant, kuruma ebi (Japanese tiger prawns) swim around, and one of the place’s signature features is that they are prepared right in front of you after you order. The fresh and springy kuruma ebi is a popular menu item, known for letting you enjoy its natural texture and sweetness.

The display case is lined with the owner’s Special selection of toppings, and some reviews said their excitement started building from the moment they sat down at the counter.

A big part of its appeal is the popular style of serving everything at the same flat price for 2 pieces per plate. The top pick is maguro (tuna), with a lineup that lets you clearly taste the differences between each cut, such as jaw, Cheek meat, and noten (the top of the head).

They also offer a wide selection of Japanese sake and shochu, so you can take your time and enjoy them with a drink you like.

A sushi restaurant right in the middle of Shinsaibashi’s busy nightlife district. The interior is compact, with about 10 counter seats. All the delicious sushi is a reasonable JPY330 each. The shari (sushi rice) is small and easy to eat, and before you know it, you keep ordering more and more. The tsumami (small dishes to go with drinks) are also high quality and very tasty.

They had kuruma ebi (Japanese tiger prawns), which I love, so that alone made me happy, and I really love that firm, springy texture. The meat even comes topped with uni (sea urchin)! There are just too many tempting small plates. The chef is kind, and I got to enjoy both fish and meat, so I was totally Manzoku.
