Samejima Seinikuten

Samejima Seinikuten is a Teppan-yaki restaurant a 5-minute walk from Yakuin Station. They are particular about buying whole never-calved Wagyu female cattle from farmers they trust.

The softly lit interior feels clean and has a grown-up atmosphere. Since all seats are at the counter, you can also enjoy the live cooking experience.

The steaks are carefully cooked at a low temperature to bring out the meat's full potential. By avoiding excessive heat, they achieve a moist texture and rich depth of flavor.

Every cut is said to be juicy, with people saying it was full of flavorful juices.

The bite sized mini burger with foie gras is said to have a rich, luxurious taste.

The soft, fragrant bun layers with deep savory flavor, and it all comes together nicely in the mouth. It also pairs well with French wine.

What surprised me was that the chef grilled the meat with bare hands. They cook it slowly over such low heat that it can be touched with bare hands. That helps lock in the juices as it cooks. And that really is the case—when you take one bite, so much juice pours out that you might think, Is this lemon?

In a refined counter-only space, skilled chefs grill rare female beef to perfection. The savory seared surface and melt-in-your-mouth fat are outstanding, making every bite a memorable one. It also pairs perfectly with wine, making it ideal for special occasions or a reward dinner. This is truly a hideaway steak restaurant for adults, where you can take your time and savor the full flavor of the meat.

They grill high quality Imari-gyu (Imari beef) steak from Saga right in front of you on the Teppan-yaki to your preferred doneness. For seafood, they grill Sea Bream, shrimp, and other items, then serve them on bread used in place of a plate. At the end, you eat that bread like honey toast together with the dessert ice cream. Everything was delicious.

I’ve only ever had the Kiwami Ninniku-yaki (ultimate garlic grilled meat) course, but I always love how the meat is cooked perfectly and comes out so tender. While many places recommend eating it with salt or wasabi, the meat here is meant to be enjoyed properly with garlic soy sauce and white rice.

Kinyo-tei is on the 35th floor of Hilton Fukuoka Sea Hawk, right next to Mizuho PayPay Dome. Along with views of the Fukuoka cityscape from the windows, you can enjoy Special Teppan-yaki.

One reason for its popularity is that you can try the rare Nakamura-gyu (Nakamura beef), a type of Saga beef.

Since the ingredients change with the seasons, many regulars look forward to it.

miccino みっちーの

I like the playful touch of serving fish after the meat. The sawara (Spanish mackerel) marinated in miso with Kamihisa Shoyu is in even better form now than in spring. Served on a bamboo leaf to pick up its aroma, the sawara is moist and still makes an impression even after the meat.

Today, I checked the menu online and chose the Sando Course, which features Miyazaki beef steak as the main dish. The meal started with aburi-zushi (seared sushi), which they seared right in front of me. There are two types of rooms, a stone room and a wood room, and both have a great atmosphere where you can enjoy Teppan-yaki while looking out over the garden. It goes without saying that the food is delicious. A veteran chef with many years of experience cooks right in front of you.

Dining sakae

Dining sakae, a 5-minute drive from Kawaraguchi Mihagino Station in Kitakyushu, is a Teppan-yaki restaurant where you can casually enjoy Kuroge Wagyu (Japanese Black beef) steaks and Hamburger Steak.

The calm interior with its wood accents has counter and table seating, creating a relaxed atmosphere where you can enjoy your meal.

One dish that many people call outstanding is the Hamburger Steak topped with foie gras.

The generously sized foie gras has a melt-in-your-mouth texture, and it reportedly pairs very well with the soft texture of the Hamburger Steak. It is said to be a satisfying plate that lets you fully enjoy the rich flavor of the meat.

The photo shows the DX lunch set with steak and Hamburger Steak.

It is a well-balanced set where you can enjoy a Hamburger Steak with the rich taste of lean meat and a steak cooked until tender. Even at the lunch counter, you can enjoy the live feel of it being grilled on the Teppan-yaki iron plate.

I ordered the Double Hamburger Steak lunch (bread). The soup was turnip potage. The Hamburger Steak came in two kinds, meat and fish. I chose grated daikon with ponzu sauce for the meat and tartar sauce for the fish. It was delicious.

The Hamburger Steak is not the juicy kind packed with meat juices, but the kind that lets you really taste the flavor of the meat. The grilled fish, made like a fish paste patty, is unusual and rare. The steak is tender. I was able to take my time and enjoy the meal.

Teppan-yaki Sakura

"Teppan-yaki Sakura" on the second floor of Art Hotel Kokura New Tagawa in Kitakyushu City offers a refined space with just 8 counter seats, where you can enjoy your meal while looking out over a Japanese garden.

This restaurant serves Teppan-yaki that makes the most of Kyushu’s bounty, including local seasonal ingredients and Saga beef.

The photo shows live awabi (abalone) Teppan-yaki, which is said to be tender with a pleasant bite, with more flavor coming out the more you chew.

Reviews also said that the chef carefully explains the ingredients and cooking, so you can enjoy both the conversation and the food.

The Kyushu-sourced beef loin in the photo is said to be a juicy steak carefully grilled on a Teppan-yaki grill. With a range of seasonings such as rock salt, Japanese-style sauce, and yuzu kosho (yuzu pepper paste), you can enjoy a wide variety of flavors.

You can also enjoy a flambé performance right in front of you, and some reviews said that visiting for a special occasion can make for a great memory.
