Places to Enjoy Teppan-yaki in Kyoto Prefecture [Kyoto City Gion, Kiyomizu-dera (Kiyomizu Temple), and Higashiyama areas]
About a 2-minute walk from Keage Station, Dominique Bouchet Kyoto Le Teppan-yaki is a Teppan-yaki restaurant created by a master of French cuisine.
With Kyoto’s cityscape spreading out beyond the windows, it is known as a place where you can enjoy a meal in an elegant atmosphere, and the counter seats, where you can enjoy conversation with the staff, are especially popular.
Photograph:Aya008300
Both lunch and dinner focus mainly on course menus. From the Appetizers that bring French cuisine to mind to the final dessert, the carefully put together progression is well received.
The courses are said to blend French style elegance with the calm of Japanese aesthetics, giving them an originality you will not find elsewhere.
For its Teppan-yaki steaks, the restaurant uses branded beef from Japan and abroad, including Kyoto gyu (Kyoto beef) and Kobe gyu (Kobe beef).
Each plate comes with a wide variety of yakumi (condiments), which are said to bring out the full flavor of the meat.
Yu_N_2001
The meal starts with Appetizers, followed by a fish dish and salad, then the main of 100g of Domestic beef Strip loin, carefully cooked on the Teppan-yaki griddle. The fat is nicely balanced, and the tenderness and rich lean flavor work really well together. Another plus is being able to enjoy it with four different sauces while changing up the flavor: shoyu (soy sauce), ponzu sauce, shallot red wine, and tomato kuro-shichimi (black seven-spice).

ポプサップ
This Teppan-yaki restaurant is inside The Westin Miyako Kyoto. Set on higher ground, it has a great view and an excellent location. Both the Teppan-yaki chefs and the sommeliers are full of hospitality, making this a place where you can enjoy both the presentation and the taste. Rather than feeling like a typical Teppan-yaki restaurant, it feels more like the Teppan-yaki counter of a French restaurant, serving properly delicious food.

We went for Teppan-yaki for my mother's birthday celebration too! This place has counter seats with a great view, and you can choose the type of meat and the gram amount. It was very tender, sweet, and delicious! I like my steak rare, so I asked for it rare. The atmosphere was calm, and it was a very nice Teppan-yaki place ^_^

Beyond the Teppan-yaki grill, the Kamogawa (Kamo River) flows by, and you can enjoy the nice view and nice atmosphere◎The Appetizers are soup, salad, and smoked duck. I ordered the steak medium! It was very tender, and though it was 60g, the satisfaction level was MAX. While I was enjoying the steak, they cooked the garlic rice. The savory aroma of garlic made me even hungrier♪

Because this restaurant buys whole Kobe beef, you can enjoy rare cuts and meat that is not often available on the market.
The Teppan-yaki steaks prepared by top chefs are said to have an outstanding balance of refined sweetness in the lean meat and richly flavored fat.
Not only the meat but also the menu made with traditional Kyoto cooking techniques and high quality ingredients such as Kyo-yasai (Kyoto vegetables) is said to be very good.
With flavors and combinations that are not limited to Japanese or Western styles, you can fully enjoy it in a Teppan-yaki style that stimulates all five senses, they say.

Inside, the soft lighting and calm atmosphere feel very comfortable, and there is a Special feeling in being able to watch the chef's movements across the counter. The first dish, Kobe beef roast beef, stood out for how its aroma opened up, and I was immediately drawn in by its moist texture and deep savory flavor.

I went to Gion Puramu, and honestly, it was so good it really surprised me. Every dish that came out was so beautiful I was like, “Wait, can I really eat this?” The flavors were refined but still packed with umami, and I just couldn’t stop eating. I didn’t expect to feel this Manzoku in Gion, but I’m definitely going again! The awabi (abalone) steak was seriously the best‼️

The Strip loin was rich with fat and packed with flavor....It felt like I was eating really amazing meat for the first time in a while. I usually go for tenderloin when it comes to steak, but once in a while, a high quality fatty Strip loin is great too. The flavor has real impact and really stays with you. The vegetables are also carefully prepped and grilled, so they taste fantastic with truffle salt or spiced salt♪

For its Teppan-yaki meat steaks, the restaurant sources high quality kuroge wagyu (Japanese Black Wagyu) without limiting itself to any particular production region.
Depending on the course, you can also enjoy rare cuts such as Chateaubriand. The beef is known for being tender across the board, with light fat that makes it easy to eat.

I ordered a course meal for a special occasion. They finished each dish one by one right in front of me on the Teppan-yaki grill, and every single plate was high quality. The fatty Wagyu was especially delicious. For the main course, I had both the lean cut of Wagyu and the Strip loin cooked rare. The ise-ebi (spiny lobster) was also plump and tasty. The sauce was rich and very good too.

It was my first time visiting, so I was really looking forward to it, and it fully lived up to my expectations. The restaurant is a comfortable distance from Kyoto Station, tucked away in a quiet residential area down a side street, and the exterior has a great atmosphere. I booked the Meat lover’s feast course, and every cut of beef was absolutely delicious.

Restaurants in Kyoto Prefecture [Kyoto Station Area, Kyoto City] Where You Can Enjoy Teppan-yaki
Photograph:莉子3588
"Teppan-yaki Roin" is a Teppan-yaki restaurant located on the 1st floor of Kyoto Shin Hankyu Hotel, about a 3-minute walk from the Karasuma Central Exit of JR Kyoto Station.
The only seating is at the counter, where spotless gleaming iron griddles are set in front of you, creating an atmosphere that is perfect for enjoying a slightly upscale meal.

You can enjoy Teppan-yaki dishes, boldly grilled right in front of you by the chef, in a course-style meal. Some say it feels extra special to have the chef carefully grill your ingredients just for you.
The menu features luxurious ingredients such as steak made with the chef’s Special Kuroge Wagyu (Japanese Black beef), ise-ebi (spiny lobster), and awabi (abalone).
Many reviews recommend the garlic rice, which you can switch to from plain white rice for an extra charge.
The rice seems to come with plenty of mushrooms. Not only is the rice itself delicious, but the crispy rice paper, almost like a work of art, also adds a nice accent.

They grill right in front of the counter. The performance was wonderful. I was satisfied with the course dishes as well. The interior also felt clean and calm. The service was polite too.

They had made a reservation for a course meal. Every dish that came out was wonderful, and the excitement of having it grilled right in front of us was hard to beat. As you would expect from a high-end restaurant, the other guests were all refined, which made it an extremely comfortable place to spend time. For an additional charge, you can change the plain white rice to garlic rice, and choosing that was absolutely the right call.

Every dish is carefully prepared and high quality, and some reviews especially recommend the live homard lobster.
The homard lobster is cooked while still lively, and it seems to be an excellent dish that lets you really taste how fresh the ingredient is.

I visited for a special occasion. The night view right in front of us was very beautiful. They carefully explained everything and cooked each dish with care, and everything was delicious. It was my first time having foie gras in a salad, and it was very good. The meat was medium rare, so tender, and incredibly tasty! It was so good I already want to go back and have it again. The garlic rice at the end was the best.

About a 5-minute walk from JR Nishioji Station, Steak House Nakahara is a hideaway-style steakhouse located in a residential neighborhood in Kyoto's Kamitoba area.
The interior has a calm, grown-up atmosphere and offers 10 counter seats with Sunken kotatsu seating. You can take off your shoes, relax, and enjoy your meal.

The Teppan-yaki menu is prepared right in front of you by a chef with 30 years of experience.
Among the many course menus, the course that comes with live awabi (abalone) and Ise ebi (spiny lobster) is especially popular. You can enjoy fresh kuro awabi (black abalone) in a luxurious way, with its briny aroma standing out.
Photograph:さくもぐ
They serve Special A4 and A5 rank kurokegyu (Japanese Black Wagyu), and you can enjoy it with all five senses, from the savory aroma to the sound of it grilling.
The Wagyu, chosen for its tenderness and rich fat, is said to fill your mouth with blissful flavor with every bite. It makes you want to savor it with a glass of wine in hand.

Just like the reviews said, the taisho (head chef) was so entertaining that I became a fan instantly! I chose the course that came with awabi (abalone) and foie gras, and every dish let the ingredients shine while pairing them with tasty sauces, salt, and other seasonings. At this level of quality, I think this price range offers very good value. Very high Manzoku!!

ラピショコ
They are particular about everything, including the meat, sauce, ponzu sauce, and dressing, and it is all very delicious. The wine is also reasonably priced, and they have selections that go well with the food. They also have awabi (abalone) on some days. It is best to ask about it when you make a reservation. This is a nice hidden gem of a restaurant.

I always come here every year for birthdays♪ You can enjoy top quality Miyazaki-gyu (Miyazaki beef) in the calm dining room♪ The à la carte dishes are also very good, and you really can’t go wrong no matter what you order. They wrote a birthday message on the French toast plate, and that made it even more wonderful❤️The French toast, of course, is also excellent.

みやのしょここ
The meat and everything else were all delicious! The Sea Bream carpaccio was not just a few paper-thin slices, but thick cuts of sashimi-style fish with a satisfying bite. I even finished all of the seafood baked in parchment and the soup. And the meat was seriously so good! It made me think, even thigh meat can be this tender and tasty. I had a wonderful time.

It is the kind of place that serves creative Teppan-yaki cuisine. There are also slightly raised seats with a Private room-like feel. They will tailor the dishes to your budget, which is very considerate. The meat was tender and delicious, and although I forgot to take a photo, the okonomiyaki (savory pancake) was also light and tasty.
