Yakitori Matsuri

Yakitori Matsuri is located about a 10-minute walk from Osaka Metro Umeda Station, along the Dojima Uramachi Line. Here, you can enjoy yakitori made with Hinai jidori (Hinai free-range chicken), one of Japan’s three major jidori breeds.

The interior has a calm atmosphere. In addition to counter seats where you can enjoy the live cooking experience, the restaurant also has fully private rooms.

Hinai jidori (Akita brand free-range chicken) is a branded chicken from Akita Prefecture. It is known for its firm texture and rich flavor. The carefully grilled yakitori (grilled chicken skewers) is said to have a great balance of savory aroma and juiciness.

There is also a course where you can enjoy a full 16 dishes including yakitori, as well as a course that comes with 4 drinks paired with the food.

Course contents vary depending on purchasing conditions and other factors. Reviews also say the menu changes often, so you will not get tired of it no matter how many times you visit. The lineup is said to let you feel the high quality of the chicken.

The a la carte dishes made with carefully selected ingredients are also tasty, and people say they go well with drinks.

This famous restaurant has the full package: great flavor, great pace, and great atmosphere. The multinational service staff also create a nice feel with their warm hospitality. The course has about 20 dishes and really packs a punch. I fully enjoyed the texture and rich flavor of Hinai jidori (Hinai free-range chicken). Also, the ramen I ordered extra at the end was outstanding, with a chicken bone broth that had an indescribably good taste.

I had the course with pairings. I was torn between wine and Japanese sake, but went with the sake. I didn’t know any of the drinks, so that made it even more fun. And then the chicken. It was the best kind, crispy on the outside and juicy inside. I of course like casual, easy on the wallet yakitori (grilled chicken skewers) too, but this was on a whole different level. For me, the biggest surprises were the Heart and the prosciutto.

CHIKICHIKI Hanshin Umeda Ten

CHIKICHIKI Hanshin Umeda Ten, located right near Hanshin Osaka-Umeda Station on the second basement floor of Hanshin Department Store Umeda Honten, is a popular spot where you can casually enjoy good yakitori (grilled chicken skewers) in a stylish setting.

Because it is a small restaurant with 21 seats in total, including counter and table seating, making a reservation is recommended.

They offer three kinds of “kushi course” menus, with 5, 7, or 9 skewers. All courses require one drink order and include one small side dish, and you can also order additional items à la carte.

Each yakitori (grilled chicken skewer) is carefully grilled and served one by one, and they are all said to be nicely charred on the outside, juicy on the inside, and delicious.

In addition to yakitori, the a la carte menu offers a wide range of dishes, including chicken Kara-age, pickles, and Rice bowls that come with chicken soup.

At lunchtime, a nice touch is that the course ends with tamago-kake gohan (rice with raw egg) made with Special free-range eggs, along with chicken soup. It is said to be a good value and very satisfying.

ポンペイ大噴火

The skewers, carefully grilled over sumibi (charcoal fire), were fragrant, and the more I chewed, the more flavor came through. The balance between tare (sweet soy-based sauce) and salt was spot on, and each item showed thoughtful preparation. From the Appetizers to the final dish, the course flowed smoothly, and I enjoyed it all the way through without getting bored. With its calm atmosphere and heartfelt service, this was a yakitori restaurant where I could spend a Special time.

This time, I ordered the 9-skewer course. Everything was delicious. After finishing the tamago kake gohan (rice topped with raw egg) at the end, I was Manpuku, so there was no need to order anything extra. You can enjoy yakitori (grilled chicken skewers) in a stylish atmosphere.

Sumibi Yakitori Kamozin Ohatsu Tenjin Ten

Sumibi Yakitori Kamozin Ohatsu Tenjin Ten is a hideaway spot tucked away at the very end of Ohatsu Tenjin Urasando, about a 5-minute walk from Osaka Metro Umeda Station.

You can enjoy charcoal grilled yakitori made with Omi-gamo (Omi duck) from Shiga Prefecture. The calm interior has mostly counter seating on the second floor and table seating on the third floor.

The menu goes well beyond yakitori (grilled chicken skewers), and everything is said to be delicious. They also offer a lineup of Special wines that bring out the flavor of Omi-gamo (Omi duck).

The "Kamo Tataki Nishu assortment" lets you compare Omi-gamo loin and thigh as sumiyaki tataki (lightly seared over charcoal). It is said to taste fresh and delicious without any off notes, and to pair perfectly with drinks.

Just a 1-minute walk from Higashi-Umeda Station with excellent access, this restaurant offers a calm Japanese-style space inside, and both the counter and Private room have a great atmosphere. It is a perfect place for a quiet date or a day when you want to relax over drinks. On this day, we mainly enjoyed four recommended duck dishes.

So good! Great service! Great atmosphere! No complaints at all. You can enjoy refined kamo (duck) dishes here. The yakitori (grilled chicken skewers) are cooked just right, and none of them feel overgrilled. I also had chicken skin with ponzu sauce and zaru-dofu (chilled tofu), and every dish was a winner.

Osaka Ichi Torihei Honten

Osaka Ichi Torihei Honten is a long-established yakitori restaurant founded in 1952. One of its main draws is that you can enjoy yakitori made with aigamo (crossbred duck), giving it a different twist.

The interior has a retro feel and offers counter seats only, so you can enjoy the live cooking atmosphere. It is located in Shin-Umeda Shokudogai, just a short walk from Osaka Metro Umeda Station.

The skewers are dipped in a secret tare (sweet soy-based sauce) that has been added to since the restaurant first opened, then quickly grilled over high heat on binchotan (high-grade white charcoal) with skilled technique. The rich, sweet-savory sauce is said to be delicious.

You can order from either the à la carte menu or a course. Reviews say the three small yakitori (grilled chicken skewers) served first as otoshi (appetizer) are outstanding.

The "Neo Gold Diamond" features kinkan (unlaid egg yolk) and quail eggs. Kinkan is the yolk part of an egg before it is laid. Both are cooked to a soft-boiled finish, so the rich yolk spreads smoothly in your mouth.

For first-time visitors, the recommended choice is the "Omakase course," which lets you enjoy the full range of the delicious aigamo (duck).

manmaru150cm8504

When I was having trouble deciding what to order, they prepared an Omakase for me. Everything they grilled was delicious, and the yakitori (grilled chicken skewers) went so well with the drinks!! I think I ended up having almost everything on the menu. It was a great meal! I want to go again!

黒龍5811

A yakitori (grilled chicken skewers) place near Osaka Station that we could book On-the-Day! It was a long-established restaurant, on a dining street packed with that downtown Osaka feel. The old Showa-era vibe of the place is great, and I also like this counter-only interior ^ ^ You really hope places like this never disappear in the future, right,

The basic order is 2 skewers of each! But everything tastes so good that you might wonder if 2 will really be enough lol. This time I sat at the counter, but it seems they also have seats on the second floor!! Umeda has so many places to eat that it is always hard to choose, so I am really glad to have a great spot like this around♪

We had soriresu (chicken oyster) aburi, liver special, grilled momo (thigh), and yakitori (grilled chicken skewers). This stylish yakitori (Japanese grilled chicken skewer) restaurant had many menu items you would not usually find at a typical yakitori place. Everything tasted great, and there were nice touches like using zucchini instead of green onion, while the toriwasa (lightly seared chicken with wasabi) was served in a way that showed real creativity.

This place is known for its zuke-dori (chicken marinated in a special sauce). Today I ordered seseri (neck meat), heart, and soriresu (oyster cut), and each one was tasty! The meat is fresh, so they also serve tataki (lightly seared meat) and yukhoe (Korean-style raw meat dish), which was a nice touch! They stay open late, so I think the easy on the wallet prices make it a good option for a second or third stop.

A stylish yakitori (grilled chicken skewers) spot... It is a little dim inside, and the seating is nicely spaced, so it is also great for parties. The service, atmosphere, and food... were all really good (*´-`) Overall, this felt like a very well-balanced restaurant.

Yakitori Toritan Umeda Higashidori

Yakitori Toritan Umeda Higashidori is a yakitori restaurant where you can enjoy authentic grilled chicken made with fresh Domestic asabiki-dori (morning-processed chicken).

The interior has a calm wa-modern (Japanese modern) feel, with table seating and counter seats where you can enjoy the live action. It is located in Hankyu Higashidori Shopping Street, about an 8-minute walk from Osaka Metro Umeda Station.

The yakitori is carefully skewered and prepared fresh every day, then grilled over charcoal. Each skewer is large, juicy, and said to be delicious.

The photo shows the signature "Tsukimi Tsukune (with Beef Tongue)," which you eat by dipping the tsukune in egg yolk. The tsukune, made with a carefully balanced blend of ground chicken and Beef Tongue, is said to be excellent.

"Thick Cut Beef Tongue Skewer" is also one of the signature menu items. It uses the marbled top quality tongue base, a rare cut that yields only a small amount from a single piece of Beef Tongue.

You can choose either salt or sauce for the seasoning. It is said to be satisfyingly hearty and delicious. Since it is available only in limited quantities, they recommend visiting early.

The restaurant has an unpretentious feel, but every dish is delicious. The tsukune (chicken meatball skewer) in particular is large and comes with a whole egg yolk, making it very satisfying. Every skewer is tasty, and it is the kind of place that makes you want to come back again.

食べ歩きのゆーた

The pieces of yakitori (grilled chicken skewers) were super big and really satisfying to eat! They also had all kinds of ate (small dishes to go with drinks), and they went great with the alcohol! The melt-in-your-mouth rebasashi (sesame oil-marinated liver sashimi style) from the ate menu is perfect with drinks too, and I highly recommend ordering it because it’s a must! The staff were also friendly and welcoming! I’ll be back again soon!

Kitashinchi Tori I

At Kitashinchi Torii, by reservation only, you can enjoy yakitori (grilled chicken skewers) made with Special jidori (premium local chicken) grilled over binchotan (high-grade charcoal). It is located along Sonezaki Shinchi Line, just steps from JR Kitashinchi Station. It is about an 8-minute walk from Umeda Station on each line.

The refined and calm interior has counter seats where you can enjoy the live cooking atmosphere, as well as several Private rooms.

The yakitori (grilled chicken skewers) here brings out the most flavor possible through careful attention to the ingredients, the skewering technique, and the grilling.

Until 23:30, the restaurant runs on a two-part system with two course options, and after that you can also order à la carte. If you want to fully enjoy the yakitori, the "Yakitori Skewer Course" is recommended, with 10 to 12 skewers and an assortment of varied side dishes.

Another course is the "Tori Yakiniku Course," where you can enjoy chicken Yakiniku instead of yakitori.

What makes both courses appealing is that you can enjoy ozukuri (sliced raw fish or meat) and tataki (lightly seared meat or fish) made with fresh jidori (local chicken). The restaurant is particular about using different jidori depending on the dish. Every dish is said to be delicious, and the level of Manzoku is high.

The yakitori was all high quality, and the standouts were definitely the “shirokimo (chicken liver)” and “chochin (grilled chicken ovary and yolk)”! They were very fresh with no off notes, and the melt-in-your-mouth texture was amazing. The “tsukune (chicken meatball)” was also light and tender, and went perfectly with the sauce. They also had a wide selection of drinks, and I was happy that the staff recommended a Japanese sake that paired well with the yakitori.

The interior had a calm atmosphere, and I could feel the chef’s care in every single dish. The yakitori (grilled chicken skewers) was of course excellent, and everything from the Appetizers to the To finish dish was outstanding. I was especially impressed by the dishes that brought out the full umami of the chicken. Everything I tried was delicious, truly the height of chicken cuisine. The service was also polite and pleasant, making this a famous restaurant I would definitely want to visit again.

Bancho Kitashinchi Honten

Hancho Kitashinchi Honten is a place where you can enjoy charcoal grilled yakitori made with freshly processed jidori (local chicken), as well as jidori dishes featuring Nagoya Cochin, one of Japan’s three major branded chickens.

The 1st floor has fully private rooms, and the 2nd floor has Semi-private room seating, so you can dine in a private setting. It is located on Sonezaki Shinchi Hondori, about an 8-minute walk from Osaka Metro Umeda Station.

You can enjoy yakitori (grilled chicken skewers) either à la carte or as a course. The menu is extensive, and each item can be ordered from 2 skewers.

The “sasami shiso-maki” is a colorful, photo-worthy skewer made with chicken tenderloin wrapped in shiso (perilla) leaves and topped with ume tare (plum sauce). It is said to have a light, refreshing taste thanks to the ume tare.

The "Nagoya Cochin Aburi Sumibiyaki" lets you enjoy Nagoya Cochin (a premium Japanese chicken breed), known for its pleasantly firm bite and rich aroma. It is grilled over a bold flame.

It is said to be an excellent dish, with the toasty aroma of charcoal and the sweetness of the fat in perfect balance. Another nice point is that it is served on a Teppan-yaki plate, so you can enjoy it piping hot.

だりおチャンネル

Every grilled skewer is high quality, and the sasami shiso-maki (chicken tenderloin and shiso roll) gets a nice lift from the aroma of shiso. The Kyo-gamo negi tare (Kyoto duck and scallion with sauce) has rich meat flavor and a sweet-savory sauce that keeps you coming back. The classic negima shio (chicken and scallion with salt) is also seasoned just right, bringing out the juicy flavor of the chicken.

ねこのこ全国ぐるめ

The menu centers on yakitori made with Nagoya Cochin (Nagoya Cochin chicken), and the fragrant aroma of charcoal grilling really whets the appetite. Even though I had already eaten my fill at the first stop, the tsukune (chicken meatball skewer) still caught my eye here too. The more I chewed the tsukune, the more the rich flavor of the chicken spread through my mouth. Every skewer was grilled with care, and each bite left me with a sense of Manzoku.

Sumibiyaki Tori Tsukada Nogyojo Umeda Hankyu Higashidori Ten

At Sumibiyaki Tori Tsukada Nogyojo Umeda Hankyu Higashidori Ten, you can enjoy yakitori (grilled chicken skewers) that skilled chefs carefully grill over charcoal.

The stylish interior has the warmth of wood and comes with counter seats, table seats, and Private room. It is about a 3-minute walk from Osaka Metro Umeda Station, on the 7th floor of a building in the Hankyu Higashidori Shopping Street.

The counter seats, where you can watch the yakitori (grilled chicken skewers) being grilled right in front of you, are a big draw and offer a Manzoku experience for all five senses.

The yakitori, said to be all tender and juicy, is available both as courses and à la carte, with a wide selection on the menu. If you are not sure what to order, they first recommend the "Sumibi Yakitori Omakase 5 Skewers."

The rare "chochin (chicken ovary and undeveloped yolk skewer)," of which only one skewer can be taken from a whole chicken, is a popular limited-quantity menu item. It is made by skewering together kinkan (undeveloped egg yolk) and the ovarian and oviduct cord before the yolk takes on its egg shape.

It has a unique look, but people say the plump texture of the kinkan is really tasty.

ナポリーナ

This time, I visited for drinks with a junior colleague. Since they had never tried chochin (grilled chicken ovary and oviduct skewer), I really wanted them to have it... and it seems they loved it♪The atmosphere of the restaurant was nice, and it seemed to be used by a wide range of people, from couples to company drinking parties^_^The staff were also very friendly, and we had a very pleasant time drinking!

yumei_mo

This restaurant is stylish and spotless, with the look of a high-end restaurant,, and the charcoal-grilled dishes in the calm space were just too good! What I especially want you to order are the 3-skewer yakitori (grilled chicken skewers) Omakase and Tsukada no Choco Pie! It’s also nice that you can choose and eat the daily vegetables. It’s an izakaya (Japanese pub), but you can get plenty of vegetables too, so you can drink in a healthy way
