An eel restaurant that has been in business since the Edo period
The eels are kept swimming in well water and are prepared while still fresh. The eels are grilled over binchotan charcoal, giving them a rich, flavorful taste. The dishes are made of Imari ware. |
江戸末期創業の老舗うなぎ店。
名古屋城の東外堀に面しており、店内奥からはお堀の緑が見渡せる。地域の鰻屋という雰囲気だが、名古屋城から近いこともあり、外国人観光客の来店も多い。
ひつまぶしが名物だが、鰻丼を注文。
うなぎはやや薄めで皮がパリッとした食感に焼かれている。うなぎの量は同価格の他店に比べてやや少なめ。ご飯はもともと大盛りで、ご飯大盛りにするとなかなかの量。
コクがありながら辛くはないタレが当店の名物。創業当時からの継ぎ足しとのこと。ご飯との相性は抜群。
営業時間は昼のみ。夜は予約営業のみとのこと。
隣の山田屋も有名な定食店。すぐ近くの吉田屋も名古屋で有名な酒屋。
