Dinner with friends along the Seibu Line. When I think of places in Kawasaki that are easy for both of us to get around to, we think of places like Ikebukuro and Shinjuku. Both trains are on the Shonan-Shinjuku Line and do not require transfers. That's why I decided to eat in Ikebukuro again this time. Here are the restaurants that I made reservations for just in case. It's in a super convenient location, just 2 minutes walk from Ikebukuro Station. Since it's such a convenient location, I thought it must be right in the middle of a prosperous city, but when I went there, I was surprised to find that it was a narrow alley. It's probably a streetscape that has been around for a long time, and although Ikebukuro has become a big city all of a sudden, I think it's a corner where the scenery from the past remains intact. Standing on this alley, it feels so idyllic that you can't believe it's only 2 minutes from Ikebukuro. The inside of the store is long and narrow, with L-shaped counter seats surrounding the kitchen on the first floor. There are stairs at the back. When you go up to the 2nd floor, you will find a semi-private table seat. Today we had a leisurely meal on the 2nd floor. There were a lot of woodwork ornaments that are often seen in Vietnam and Southeast Asia, giving it a nice atmosphere. Let's take a look at the menu. .. .. Sorry for the blurry photo. Pho, rice, and Banh mi are the main dishes. Since it's called Asian, I thought it would be Thai Thai Cuisine, but now we both realize that it's mainly Vietnamese Cuisine (lol). It's our first time visiting, and this is the restaurant's most popular dish. I decided to order one of the recommended menu items. So, if you share two, you can eat both. So, let's start with the most popular one!・Tom Yum Kung Pho (980 yen including tax) Thai Cuisine spicy soup, Tom Yum Kung, and Vietnamese Cuisine flour noodle pho. It was a milky soup with a hint of coconut, but it was quite spicy. I was sweating while eating it. The coriander is also effective. The plump shrimp is also good. The pho is also made properly, with flat noodles that look like flat kishimen noodles.・Vietnamese-style mixed rice (880 yen: tax included) Comes with soup. It's mixed rice, so mix it thoroughly before eating. You can enjoy various scents, tastes, and textures. Coriander is quite effective. However, the spiciness is modest, and it is good to change the taste with the seasonings on the table. It contains nuts, which gives it a nice texture and aroma, making it a nice accent. There are also great value sets such as the Goikun set (300 yen) of fresh spring rolls and salad, and the Goikun drink set (500 yen) of fresh spring rolls, salad, and drink. The salad had a crunchy texture with lettuce, cucumber, and paprika. This Goikun was a personal hit. Vietnamese spring rolls made using rice paper. Crispy lettuce and plump shrimp. The rice paper wrapped around it has a texture that makes you feel like you can bite into it. For the drink, I tried jasmine tea. It had a wonderfully refreshing scent♪ Yeah, I feel like it's a pretty good deal for 500 yen. Next time, I thought it might be a good idea to go to Bar Bar Bar Bar or Saigon Special while drinking beer. Thank you for the meal. https://shinkawasaki.jp/asian-tao-oyster-bar/
