本日のランチは、川越市「うな吉」です。
川越市で鰻屋と言えば、鰻百名店2022にも選出されている「東屋」か老舗風情の「小川菊」だろう。
他にも「いちのや」や「林屋」や「小川藤」など名店揃いだ。
そんな鰻屋の集積地で本日選択したのは、「うな吉」だ。
開業は、昭和58年なのでまだまだ老舗の域には、到達していない。
紫色の暖簾が目印の一軒家店舗だ。
店内は、横長カウンター席に四人掛けテーブル席が4つ。
二階は、畳敷の座敷で20名以上の宴会にも対応可能のようだ。
鰻重は、3,400円の並と4,000円の上がラインナップする。
では、”上鰻重(4,000円)”をチョイス。
待つこと15分。
運ばれてきました。
「(おっ、肉厚だ。タレの照りがテカテカだな。串打ちの穴が一ヶ所綻びている。)」
一口目のお味は、甘めのタレで香ばしく焼かれている。
関東式の蒸して仕上げるフワフワタイプだ。
山椒は、ペッパーミルでグリグリするやつだ。
あまり、風味が強くないな。
きょうのうなぎは、静岡県産のようだが、脂の乗りが絶妙だった。
ごはんがもう少し水分少なめで炊かれたら完璧だったかな。
