We were looking for a place to have dinner in Karuizawa, and my husband found this restaurant.
Since it was still new, we were able to make a reservation even at the last minute!
The restaurant is located on the second floor of an older building in Old Karuizawa Ginza.
If you don't know about it, it's hard to find... The surrounding shops were closed, and I felt a bit nervous climbing the stairs, wondering if this was really the place. Haha.
The interior is quite spacious! The tables are set apart, giving it a somewhat isolated feel.
The menu features both Italian dishes like those found in a bar and Japanese-style dishes reminiscent of an izakaya!
You can order from both, which is great for trying a variety of foods. ♡
We ordered corn tempura, grilled mackerel with aromatic vegetables, and an assorted platter of three types of meat.
The appetizer was a dish of eggplant and bell pepper in a light batter, topped with fried sweetfish.
This was incredibly delicious, raising our expectations.

I returned for a visit because my previous experience was so delightful.
The surrounding shops still close at dinner time, creating a shuttered shopping arcade atmosphere. It's amusing how crowded it was during the day!
I ordered the assorted appetizers, agedashi tofu, beef tendon with Japanese radish, and roast pork.
The complementary dish was bread! It was delicious, but I ended up filling up on it too soon.
Everything was delicious! I don't eat agedashi tofu often, but it's so tasty when I have it again after a while.
The pork was, of course, delicious, but the roasted vegetables on the side were incredibly good. I love roasted vegetables!
