Yesterday, I posted two articles and received a lot of views.
I absolutely love soba! Whenever I visit Shinshu, I always stop by a soba restaurant.
This time, I went to a new place called "Oiwake Soba Takumi Kikori," located along the road from Karuizawa to Shinano Oiwake.
The parking lot is small, but I managed to find a spot.
It was fully booked, so I had to write my name and wait outside. Fortunately, there were chairs in the shade, making the wait comfortable.
Even though it was past lunchtime, I was seated in about 10 minutes.
The restaurant has a spacious interior with 52 seats, and the turnover seems quick.
They offer three types of soba.
I chose the "Inaka Soba" made with whole wheat flour, which had a firm texture and was delicious.
The unique flavor from the whole wheat might not be for everyone, but I personally enjoy it.
My family ordered the "Mori Soba" made with 2:8 buckwheat flour, served with tempura.
2:8 soba is a classic choice that is easy to eat and very tasty.
It was delicious!
Oiwake Soba Takumi Kikori specializes in stone-ground, hand-made soba using carefully selected buckwheat sourced from the foothills of Mount Asama (Karuizawa, Miyota, and Komoro).
Before heading to "Kikori," I tried to visit "Sasakura," which is listed among Tabelog's top 100 restaurants.
However, the parking lot was full, and since I had to wait in the scorching sun, I decided to give up and try again next time.
In Karuizawa, I also visited soba restaurants like "Kawakami-an" in Old Karuizawa and "Kagimoto-ya" in front of Nakakaruizawa Station, as well as "Marui" in Nakakaruizawa, which was recommended by the Manpei Hotel.
All of these places are popular.
Please let me know if you have any recommendations for delicious soba restaurants!
