I visited this Spanish restaurant, located within the TWIN-LINE HOTEL in Karuizawa, for the first time.
Here, you can enjoy unique dishes that make use of local Shinshu ingredients, while incorporating Spanish ingredients and essence.
The restaurant is open to customers who are not staying at the hotel as well. This time, I opted for a lunch course.
The course started with a warm soup called Sopa de Garbanzos, made with chickpeas. It's a soft and flavorful soup, centered around the sweetness of the chickpeas, enhanced by the saltiness of bacon and olive oil—a perfect dish to start in the cold season.
One of the highlights was the restaurant's signature dish, the Soufflé Tortilla. Its fluffy, airy texture is unique, and it offers a culinary experience unlike any other. Not only does it shine in texture, but the way it brings out the sweetness from potatoes and onions is impressive as well.
For the main dish, a paella rich in seafood flavor was served. It was delicious on its own, but I preferred it even more with the aioli sauce.
This is the perfect place when you're looking for tasty Spanish cuisine in a casual setting. It was a great meal!
