New Year Wine Gathering
We had a quiet wine gathering for four with our own bottle of wine.
We opted for an omakase course that pairs well with the wine.
The dishes were very delicious, and the wine had a rich flavor.
I'm glad to know they will be open even during the winter this year.
Bring Your Own Wine
I visited with two friends and brought three bottles of white and red wine.
We started with a glass of the restaurant's Champagne.
We ordered duck pâté, natural sea bream carpaccio salad, and ajitama with edamame in peperoncino. Each dish was plentiful and delicious. The fresh sea bream, juicy vegetables, and innovative pasta were particularly impressive.
The wines we brought were a white from Umbria, Italy, Chambolle-Musigny, and Barolo. Recent wines have been easier to drink at a younger age and quite tasty.
We had great conversations, making it a lovely dinner.
Champagne on a Stroll
I've developed a bad habit of stopping by this place on my walk home.
On this day, I requested champagne. It had a different label from before, but its crisp acidity was perfect for summer.
There’s no mistaking the choices made by the owner here. And to top it off, it was under JPY 1000, tax included. It couldn't have been better.
Delicious Champagne
I stopped by while out for an evening stroll.
Feeling tired from walking and thirsty, I ordered some bubbly, and they served me a delicious champagne.
As a snack, they offered me salami, which was also tasty.
The terrace seats overlook Karuizawa's main street, and the refreshing early summer breeze feels delightful.
It's a true pleasure to be able to drop by such a wonderful place.
Newly Opened Wine Bar
A newly opened wine bar located near the old Karuizawa Main Street. The entrance is on the second floor, up a flight of stairs.
I went on an exploration visit with some friends from the newly opened observation team.
We entered the bar shortly after 8 PM, and it was empty inside. The owner and his wife greeted us warmly. The interior has counter seats, tables, and also a terrace seating area.
Once the weather gets a bit warmer, the terrace will be fantastic, but tonight we opted for the counter. Feeling a bit thirsty, I ordered a Yamazaki Highball.
The owner is responsible for the cooking, and the menu primarily features French cuisine with various appetizers and meals available. His wife takes care of the wine selection and recommends options tailored to our preferences.
After a while, more customers arrived, and the place became lively. It seemed to be a smooth opening for them. We ordered some wine and snacks, enjoyed conversations over the counter, and left the bar after 10 PM.

Today, I decided to enjoy the wine offered at the bar instead of bringing my own.
The sommelier's wife has great taste, and everything was delicious.
