This year, I visited the Karuizawa Prince Ski Resort on New Year's Day. There were a lot of foreign guests, really. Well, it can't be helped, but the lift ticket is now JPY 8000. It seems to have reached that price without me noticing, and at this rate, it might be on par with TDL (Tokyo Disneyland) (laughs). I wonder if skiing has become a pastime mainly for the wealthy. Inbound tourists probably think it’s cheap.
This ski resort has a surprisingly limited number of places to eat during lunch, and they tend to get really crowded... This time, I decided to take a break around 2 PM to avoid the lunch rush and ended up at this restaurant. I honestly didn’t expect to find a place here.
I ordered a hot dog (JPY 650) and French fries (JPY 550). The prices are clearly set for ski customers, which is understandable. After ordering, I waited about 10 minutes until my number was called, and I picked up my hot dog and fries to eat. The hot dog was quite tasty, especially considering the cold weather—it made it even more enjoyable. The portion of French fries was also pretty generous. Overall, I felt fairly satisfied.
