I visited this restaurant in Karuizawa on a Saturday, and to my surprise, no one had made a reservation, which was quite alarming.
Recently, during the summer in Karuizawa, it’s nearly impossible to get in without a reservation.
Fortunately, since it was early, I was lucky to secure a spot!
Located on Church Street in Old Karuizawa, this place has a reputation for not lasting long, so it often doesn’t seem crowded.
Hmm... I wish the Old Karuizawa area would think things through a bit more.
There are some places with ridiculous lines!
Anyway, I came with two friends, and it seems they were limiting reservations due to staff shortages, which allowed us to enjoy a leisurely meal!
It’s honestly refreshing to see a restaurant that prioritizes proper service instead of just cramming people in!
Now, we ordered a pizza topped with Karuizawa vegetables and three pasta dishes!
The pizza was generously loaded with vegetables, which was great, but I felt it could have been a bit more flavorful.
You could argue that its lightness is a positive aspect, though!
For the pasta, I appreciated that we could choose between spaghetti and linguine.
However, the Japanese-style Aglio e Olio was a bit too firm, and I had to pause eating until it softened a little.
That was a bit disappointing!
The cream pasta with shrimp that I ordered with linguine wasn’t quite up to par either.
It seemed like it needed some adjustments.
The service was attentive, so this could be a good place to visit when you need assistance!
