I visited an Italian restaurant located on the second floor of Church Street in Old Karuizawa.
Since I arrived close to noon on a holiday, I prepared for some waiting, but there were only three groups ahead of me, which was fewer than I expected.
However, due to the limited number of staff, even though there were empty seats, I waited longer than I would have liked to be seated. This waiting time was a bit challenging. (It might be nice to have some improvements on how to spend time while waiting.)
Once I was finally shown to my seat and looked at the menu, I found a full range of Italian dishes, including pasta, pizza, and meat dishes, with quite a few options featuring local vegetables. I felt that this selection was well thought out and nicely structured.

Since I was here, I decided to try a lot of local dishes. My favorites were the Peperoncino and the roast Tateshina beef.
The Peperoncino had a strong spiciness that balanced well with the sweetness of the vegetables, and it paired beautifully with the wine.
The roast Tateshina beef, which was low in fat, truly showcased the ingredient's freshness and flavor, especially when enjoyed with just a sprinkle of coarse salt.
While the other dishes were generally good, I focused heavily on the vegetable options, so perhaps including a few more traditional menu items could have offered better balance. A good approach might have been to have around two local dishes and fill the rest with classic options.
Apart from the slight wait before being seated, the service was quite satisfactory.
The atmosphere was pleasant, making it a nice spot for couples or friends to visit as well.
