I visited this café with my kids on the last Monday of the three-day weekend around 1 PM.
I called earlier to reserve a table, and parking was also available.
The café is situated in a tranquil house surrounded by greenery, capturing the resort vibe typical of Karuizawa. The interior is spacious and elegant, with bossa nova music playing in the background. They even have a parakeet as a pet.
The menu features a selection of lighter lunch dishes such as omelettes and soups, along with pancakes.
★ Cream Cheese & Smoked Salmon Omelette: JPY 2,250
- You can choose between a popover or toast.
- The omelette is fluffy and creamy, rich in egg flavor, and pairs perfectly with the salmon's saltiness.
★ Mushroom Stroganoff: JPY 750
- An exquisite soup with a rich cheese flavor.
- The mushrooms have a pleasant crunch.
- The sweet onions complement the salty broth exceptionally well.
★ Traditional Chicago Pancake: JPY 2,000
- You can choose one topping from fruit, homemade bacon, sausage, or a hamburger-shaped sausage. This time, I chose the fruit.
- The pancake is thin and fluffy, melting in your mouth.
- It has a wonderful aroma, a subtly sweet flavor, and a rich egg taste that pairs well with the fruit topping.
It was a luxurious experience. The portion sizes are modest, making it a great choice for an indulgent brunch.
