This is a restaurant I was taken to by my boss. It's an izakaya located in Nakakaruizawa, but they also serve lunch. The menu offers an extensive selection with generous portions.
There is parking available for about 10 cars behind the restaurant. The interior has a counter, three tables for four, and a spacious tatami room. It's quite spacious, making it suitable for banquets as well.
I was overwhelmed by the vast menu options but decided to order the same dish as my boss: the "Meat and Bean Sprout Set Meal."
Although it's a set meal under JPY 1000, the rice portion overflows from the bowl! The dish consists of simple stir-fried bean sprouts and pork seasoned with pepper, which tantalizes the appetite and makes you want to eat more rice. Even though I didn’t order a large size, the regular portion is substantial, so it's guaranteed to fill you up.
A recommended way to enjoy it is to mix the stir-fried bean sprouts and pork with the neighboring cabbage while placing them in your mouth. It’s easy to do since they are on the same plate! Isn’t that quite common? The sauce of the main dish is so delicious that you tend to eat the side dishes together with it.
Additionally, drinks are one cup free? Coffee after the meal is free as well, so you can take your time and relax afterward.
There are many items on the menu that I want to try next time. I’d love to have the Katsukare (Pork Cutlet Curry) and Sanzoku Yaki (Mountain Bandit Chicken). With the large size options available, I can't wait to try them all!
