Outside the window, a snowstorm is raging, and it looks like a lot of snow will accumulate. Inside, it’s warm, and the floor shines brightly.
Moët & Chandon Brut Impërial NV.
- Clam Chowder with Crackers, featuring scallops and shrimp. It warms you from the inside out.
- Salad with lettuce, radicchio, and sliced apples, dressed with vinaigrette.
- Freshly baked baguette, butter roll, and boules. My companion had rice (Koshihikari from Nagano Prefecture).
- Grilled Monkfish with sweet potato puree and curry sauce. The flesh and large liver are rich and satisfying.
- Roast Beef with potatoes, carrots, and snow peas, served with horseradish sauce. This is Shinshu beef, though it had a bit too much fat and some tough sinew.
- Chocolate Terrine with vanilla ice cream.
- Apple Pie.
- Coffee.
The presentation was beautiful, and the service was attentive.
