Pasta Set JPY 1200
Located between Karuizawa and Nakakaruizawa along Route R18, this cafe-restaurant offers pasta and pizza sets for JPY 1200 during lunch, including dessert and a drink. The highlight of this place seems to be its fresh pasta, so I opted for the anchovy peperoncino.
There are many pizza and pasta places in Karuizawa, and this one also operates as a cafe. It's quite an old establishment that has lasted for many years.
The interior is lively with families, featuring a cozy mountain lodge atmosphere and well-worn rattan chairs. A single waitress is running around attending to customers, which must be quite challenging with so many guests.
Now, the pasta has arrived. It's garnished with red chili, and the fresh pasta is a slightly yellow, flat noodle. The saltiness of the anchovy merges well with the spiciness of the chili. However, the portion is small and may not satisfy young men.
After the pasta, yogurt with rhubarb jam and a cappuccino were served.
Due to the small pasta portion, I felt a bit unsatisfied. If they included a salad, it could enhance the perceived value.
