Gokunama Purin Senmonten Wada

This is a Takeout-focused shop in Nagoya that sells Gokunama Purin (ultra-smooth pudding), which originated in Ishikawa Prefecture.

The interior is a modern space with white and wood tones. Located right in front of Aeon Nanyo Ten, it is said that many people casually stop by while taking a break from shopping.

In the showcase, 15 kinds of one of a kind pudding are lined up, combining the standard Gokunama Purin (ultra-fresh pudding) with warabi mochi (bracken starch dumpling), jelly, and other items.

For the "Sweet," they recommend enjoying the first bite as is, then adding the included sauce from the second bite on. It stands out for the rich sweetness of egg and cream.

The "crème brûlée," which has a different texture from purin (Japanese pudding), is also a popular menu item with many fans.

The surface is crisp and fragrant, while the inside is rich and smooth. Takeout is also available, but if you eat in, they caramelize it on the spot so you can enjoy it freshly made anytime.

When you scoop it with a spoon, the warabi-mochi (bracken starch dumpling) stretches out with a unique texture. Then the rich, extra-smooth nama purin (fresh pudding) coats it, and the pairing works perfectly. The sweetness is well balanced too, making this a very well-finished dessert. The sakura (cherry blossom) flavor is not too strong, and its light aroma gives it a nice seasonal feel.

Perfect for summer: ramune (Japanese lemonade soda), mango, and Earl Grey. The ramune one came with ramune-flavored warabi mochi (bracken starch dumpling). The mango and Earl Grey each had jelly on top. My favorite was the Earl Grey. The matcha and hojicha (roasted green tea) were very rich. Adding the sauce on the side made them even richer. Since the sweetness is mild, I can recommend these puddings even to people who do not like very sweet desserts.

Osu Pudding Laboratories

Oosu Pudding Laboratories, located in Osu, Nagoya, is a specialty shop for additive-free pudding.

The interior, based on white and glass, is minimal and stylish. Although it mainly focuses on Takeout, it also has an eat-in space where you can relax and enjoy your time.

The additive-free pudding, available in six firmness levels, has been getting a lot of attention.

①~③ are firmer, Pucchin Purin-style puddings. In photo ①, “D.I.A” has a firm texture, a rich egg flavor, and a nostalgic taste.

For the smooth types ④ to ⑥, you can pour on the caramel served on the side and adjust the sweetness to your liking.

The "JUICY" in the photo is said to be so creamy that people call it a drinkable pudding. Many people also buy both the firm and smooth types to enjoy comparing them.

The pudding has a slightly firm and rich taste, and it's delicious! The deep flavor of the syrup is also irresistibly good! The staff served us with a smile, and when I got one for Takeout on the way home, they carefully packed the pudding into the shopping bag I had brought, so I was also happy with the pleasant service!

There are six kinds of pudding available, with differences mainly in firmness, but all of them are the same Homemade additive-free puddings. I had the firm pudding and the Showa classic pudding, and even as a big pudding lover, I was fully satisfied with how good they were.

Pastel Dessert Asunal Kanayama Ten

This dessert shop mainly sells its signature nameraka purin (smooth pudding), along with seasonal sweets.

The blue-and-white striped exterior and eye-catching neon give it a bright, pop feel. Located on the 1st floor of Asunal Kanayama, it has an inviting atmosphere that makes it easy to drop by.

Pastel's signature item, nameraka purin (smooth pudding).

It is said to have a melt-in-your-mouth texture and be so good that once you try it, you will be hooked. The flavor has stayed the same for more than 30 years, and it is also said to make a great gift or something to bring along.

The adorable-looking "Boku Purin (Boku Pudding)" is a limited-time collaboration menu item with Pom Pom Purin.

It has two layers of pudding and mousse, and the top is decorated with chocolate. Some reviews also say that the part you cannot see inside the cup is tasty too.

It seems the nameraka purin (smooth pudding) has been around for more than 30 years since it was first created. We ordered the nameraka purin and the nyameraka purin with a cat paw pad design. Of course, both had that smooth texture that melts away in your mouth, and we really enjoyed them.(^^)

On my way home, I suddenly wanted something sweet in Kanayama, so I ended up stopping by for Takeout. When you think of Pastel, their smooth pudding comes to mind, but among the nicely presented Western sweets, I personally recommend this pudding cake. It has just the right amount of volume and tastes great.
