The ankou-nabe (monkfish Hot Pot) must be ordered for at least two people, but it is so good that it disappears in no time. We also fully enjoyed the local sake from Ibaraki, and it really turned into a great trip.

I visited here on a little trip because I wanted to eat food that felt like Ibaraki (Ibaraki-style cuisine). Every dish was delicious! The mehikari (greeneye fish) Kara-age was especially so good that I could have eaten any number of them. The staff were also very friendly, and I had a really nice time.

In a very Mito-like way, there were lots of dishes made with natto (fermented soybeans), which felt refreshingly new even as izakaya fare! Personally, the dish I found especially tasty was the ankou (monkfish) Kara-age, which was light and really to my taste. I also really enjoyed the drinks.

We were able to dine in a visually private Semi-private room. The dishes came out quickly. They brought us fresh oshibori (hot hand towels) during the meal, and we were served warm tea with dessert. The hospitality was excellent, and it made for a very Manzoku meal.

There was a wide menu selection, but the sashimi was especially good with a nice firm texture. Since all seats are in Private rooms, we could relax, enjoy a good meal, and have a lively conversation. They also had several kinds of Japanese sake labels, and I ended up drinking a little too much. The food came quickly, and the staff were nice too.

I used this place for the After-Party of a dinner gathering with friends. We had already eaten quite a bit at the first stop, so we ordered lightly, with grilled hokke (Atka mackerel), rough cut cucumber, lightly pickled eggplant, iburigakko (smoked pickled daikon) & cream cheese, and edamame. Since it was a Semi-private room, we were able to relax and take our time.
