Chiba Prefecture [Chiba City] Shabu-shabu (Japanese hot pot)!

Shabushabu Shotaian Sogo Chiba Ten

Shabu Shabu Shotaian Sogo Chiba Ten, with excellent access directly connected to Keisei Chiba Station.

The “Special marbled loin shabu-shabu Gozen set” is said to have elegant fat in the meat, so it does not feel too heavy. When eaten with vegetables, the sweetness of the vegetables adds even more flavor and makes it even better.

There are two types of sauce: sesame sauce and ponzu sauce. You can also add chili oil or yakumi (condiments) to change up the flavor.

At lunchtime, you can also enjoy pork shabu-shabu.

The thinly sliced pork is said to be tender, with a clear sweetness. The Gozen set also comes with Appetizers, chawanmushi (savory egg custard), a vegetable assortment, rice, and soup, so it seems very satisfying.

・Special marbled loin shabu-shabu Gozen set
This uses very high quality marbled meat, which you quickly swish through the broth. When you bring it to your mouth without using too much sesame sauce, you get the delicious flavor of top quality kuroge Wagyu (Japanese Black beef) with the aroma of the broth and sesame. It is the kind of quality that makes you sigh with delight.

Both the shabu-shabu and sukiyaki were made with strip loin that was incredibly tender, and the meat had a sweet flavor that was so, so good. It went well with either the refreshing ponzu sauce or the sesame sauce with added chili oil〜it really makes the rice go down easy!!

MAnabeya Minato Ten

This is a restaurant where you can enjoy shabu-shabu while looking out over a river where koi (carp) swim.

The spacious interior is made up entirely of Private rooms. There are various types of rooms, including sofa seating and Sunken kotatsu seating, and they also have seats with ocean views and seats overlooking the garden.

The photo shows Nabeya no Nabe (Nabeya's Hot Pot), a dish with amazing visual impact.

Packed tightly with vegetables under the meat, it is said to be very filling. Many reviews also say the meat is thin and tender, so you can keep eating it without getting tired of it.

"Suki-shabu" is a luxurious Hot Pot that lets you enjoy both shabu-shabu and sukiyaki.

Not only is the meat excellent, but the vegetables are also high quality. The onions in particular are said to have a strong sweetness that pairs well with the meat. To finish, you can choose either regular udon or himokawa udon (flat ribbon noodles).

I went with the All you can eat pork shabu-shabu, and the broth, the sauce, and the meat were all delicious, so I was very Manzoku. They also had French fries on the menu, and I think they were butter soy sauce flavor? Those were tasty too.

I tried all the Hot Pot varieties, but hiyashi nabe (spicy Hot Pot) is definitely the one I recommend most. If you want something lighter, mushi-shabu (steamed shabu-shabu) is a good choice. For the meat, I personally think the pork and Special Wagyu are the most satisfying. If you are not a fan of rich fat, I think the premium beef is just right instead of the Special Wagyu!

The meat for the shabu-shabu is especially good with the beef, so much so that beef alone would be enough. The thinly sliced meat is really tasty.

I chose two types: sukiyaki and Chige Hot Pot style. The mildly spicy Chige Hot Pot had a warming flavor, and I enjoyed how it contrasted with the sweeter sukiyaki. It is also appealing that sushi is included in the All you can eat option, and it is a nice point that you can enjoy seafood as well as meat and hot pot.

The pork loin is high quality. The dashi broth is good too, and the dipping sauce is also well thought out. Rather than just eating a lot, you can enjoy high quality food in a relaxed space with prompt and polite service.

・Gyusuki Hot Pot Set Meal
The beef had just the right sweetness from the fat and went perfectly with the rice. The flavor of the vegetables melted into the broth too, so I enjoyed it without getting tired of it until the very last bite.

Shabu Shabu Onyasai Purena Makuhari Ten

This restaurant is known for the consistent quality you can expect from a major chain.

Located on the 4th floor of Plena Makuhari, it stands in a convenient spot that makes it easy to drop by while shopping. In its calm atmosphere, you can enjoy shabu-shabu (Japanese hotpot) until you are completely full.

The meat in the "Kuroge Wagyu (Japanese Black Wagyu) Course" has just the right amount of marbling, letting you really enjoy the meat’s sweetness and rich flavor.

You can choose from two kinds of broth. Among them, the "Sandaime Kiwami Dashi" is popular in reviews for bringing out the best in the ingredients.

They are also particular about their vegetables, and some of the produce they source was apparently developed specifically for Shabu-Shabu Onyasai.

The naganegi (long green onion) pairs well with the meat and broth, and some reviews said they ended up ordering refills again and again.

sotar856

This time, I went with the standard Hot Pot broth and sukiyaki dashi (Japanese sweet soy broth), and since the flavors are clearly different, it is easy not to get tired of them. The sukiyaki dashi especially is on the sweeter side, and it felt like it paired better with vegetables than with meat!

It’s also nice that you can choose all the details and make it into your ideal shabu-shabu (Japanese hotpot). I personally liked the Kiwami dashi (premium broth). As for the meat, I found that regular Kuroge Wagyu (Japanese Black beef) was easier to keep eating without getting tired of it than the more expensive heavily marbled cuts.

Shabu-shabu in Chiba Prefecture [Other Areas]!

Kurobutaya Bunpuku Chagama

At Kurobutaya Bunpukuchagama, you can fully enjoy shabu-shabu made with Kagoshima Prefecture kurobuta (Berkshire pork).

Although it is close to the station, the place has a hideaway feel. They have Semi-private room options in various sizes, so you can relax and take your time without worrying about the people around you.

It seems many people visit for the specialty kurobuta negi shabu (black pork and green onion shabu-shabu).

The slightly sweet house-made dashi (Japanese soup stock) sounds light and easy to keep eating without getting tired of it. Reviews also praise the soup, rich with the flavor of green onions and kurobuta, saying even the ramen eaten at the end is delicious.

A la carte dishes made with kurobuta (Berkshire pork) are also popular.

The fragrant "Kurobuta Yaki Gyoza (pan-fried Berkshire pork dumplings)" with crispy wings are said to have an irresistible chewy meat texture. They are even better with yuzu kosho (yuzu pepper paste) and the house-made ponzu sauce, which has an excellent balance of acidity and umami.

This famous restaurant was reminiscent of Kagoshima in Kyushu. This negi-nabe (green onion Hot Pot) is a masterpiece with a light taste that makes you want to eat it even in summer, yet it is rich with dashi flavor.

・Premium Beef Course
The beef Chuck Eye Roll was tender and full of flavor. The pork belly, on the other hand, had sweet fat, and shabu-shabu (Japanese hotpot) brought out an amazing richness that made it so good. The chicken breast was light yet tender, and it went perfectly with the refreshing ponzu sauce!

I visited with a reservation for the Yume no Daichi butabara (pork belly) course! The vegetable section had kikurage (wood ear mushrooms), which they did not have in the past, and that got me the most excited! I ordered all the different meats, but the Yume no Daichi butabara was the best, so I ended up eating that the whole time☆

Echigo Matsudo Ten

Echigo Matsudo Ten is a popular Japanese restaurant in the Matsudo area of Chiba.

Its appeal lies in Japanese dishes that make the most of ingredients from Niigata, and its convenient location just a 1-minute walk from Matsudo Station is said to be another reason for its popularity. The Japanese modern space has a great atmosphere, and it also offers fully private rooms.

The photo shows their most popular dish, Echigo mochibuta (glutinous-textured pork from Echigo) shabu-shabu.

Echigo mochibuta is said to have a fine texture and an elegant taste with a mild sweetness. The dashi broth is also seasoned in authentic Niigata style, and To finish, you can add udon as well.

The “Sengyo no Tamatebako (treasure box of fresh fish)” comes with a dry ice presentation, and many people apparently can’t help but let out a cheer.

Since the fish are shipped in directly from fishing grounds in Niigata on the morning they are caught, they are said to be plump and springy. Some also say the white fish is firm and tasty.

ルシルフル

We ordered mochi-buta (glutinous-textured pork) shabu-shabu, kakuni (braised pork belly), and Tochio-age (deep-fried tofu from Tochio). They were all very good. The meat quality was high, and it had a refined taste with a nice touch of sweetness.

What stood out most was the Niigata specialty hegi soba (buckwheat noodles served on a wooden tray). I had it at the end of the meal, and the smooth texture and rich flavor were so good that I would want to come back just for this.
