Founded in 1979 in Natori, Miyagi Prefecture, Hachi is a restaurant. MAGO HACHI KITCHEN is its sister restaurant, located on the first floor of Henn na Hotel Sendai inside the Ichiban Arcade, one of Sendai City's best known large covered shopping arcades.
The bright interior uses yellow as its main color. It opens from the morning, and you can also stop by for Breakfast.

Omurice wraps ketchup-flavored fried rice in a thin egg crepe. You can choose either tomato sauce or demi-glace sauce.
The rice inside also has meat and green peas, making it quite filling. People also say the softly cooked egg with its melt-in-your-mouth texture is delicious.

Their signature dish is the "Napolitan" pasta with tomato sauce, which won 1st place at an event featuring restaurants specializing in "Napolitan" pasta.
The tomato sauce, made from the recipe used since the restaurant first opened, is what sets it apart. You can also add Hamburger Steak as a topping to both the Napolitan and the Omurice.

・Tomato Omurice
When eaten while still warm, it is very tasty, with an egg that is lightly cooked on the surface while staying soft and runny inside!! The rice inside is evenly coated with ketchup, and the small pieces of meat mixed in add a nice textural accent.

The Hamburger Steak is also quite good. With its firm texture, this Hamburger Steak has a great meaty taste. At the same time, it is not too heavy, and it has plenty of meat juices, making it really tasty. It is not salty in a way that pairs with rice, but rather seasoned just right to sit on top of Napolitan (Japanese ketchup spaghetti), which is a nice touch.

Liaison is a kissaten (Japanese-style coffee shop) located in Sun Mall Ichibancho, a shopping street with a covered arcade. Tucked away on the second floor of a building, it has the feel of a hidden retreat.
The inside has a triangular floor plan and a retro atmosphere. It opens from daytime, and many people seem to visit for lunch.

A popular menu item is the Omurice. Another nice point is that you can enjoy it at a good value as a set with potato salad, soup, and a drink.
It features pilaf with shrimp wrapped in egg. The sauce is demi-glace, and it is said to have a slightly bittersweet taste.

They also serve Naporitan (Japanese ketchup based pasta) with its classic tomato sauce flavor, as well as Pancake, which is like a thinly cooked pancake.
Cold drinks such as iced coffee are also popular for being served in cute round glasses.

I had the most popular item, the "Omurice with plenty of demi-glace sauce (this is Omurice made with shrimp pilaf." First, they served wakame (seaweed) soup and potato salad already topped with tonkatsu sauce. Before long, the Omurice arrived too. The slightly bitter "demi-glace sauce" paired with the sweetness of the shrimp pilaf, and I kept eating spoonful after spoonful.

The potato salad comes with sauce on top. Unusual. It was my first time trying it, but the pairing worked well and tasted great. The Omurice also has an unusual pilaf-style preparation. Poured over the egg is a distinctive sauce unlike anything I had tried before. Omurice made by a pro is delicious.

Dining Cafe Koimari is a kissaten (Japanese-style coffee shop) located in Aoba Ward, northwest of central Sendai, in front of Tohoku University Hospital along Nishi Koen Dori.
The interior has a retro feel that seems unchanged since around the 1970s. They also serve Breakfast, but Omurice is available only from lunchtime.

The signature Omurice is served in a style with a neatly made omelet placed on top of chicken rice that is well seasoned with tomato sauce.
The omelet is light and fluffy, with a soft and creamy almost runny center. The balance between the richly seasoned rice and the flavor of the omelet is said to be very good.
Photograph:ケージロー
They also offer set meals that pair Omurice with Homemade Hamburger Steak or spaghetti. The portions are generous, and people say you can enjoy them at a reasonable price.
It seems the long standing service of including miso soup with food items like Omurice has not changed either.

It was my first time here, but both the restaurant and the food had a nostalgic feel that reminded me of a yoshoku (Japanese-style Western food) spot in Tokyo's old downtown area. The soft and creamy Omurice and the demi-glace sauce on the Hamburger Steak were both really good. The big difference from long-established places in Tokyo is that the prices feel about half as much. I want to come back and try the other menu items too.

It is the style with an omelet placed on top of chicken rice with a rich tomato flavor. The omelet is soft and runny! It is a tasty omelet that brings back a sense of nostalgia. The source of that nostalgia is probably the ketchup rice (lol)! The soft, runny omelet and ketchup rice were a perfect match and tasted really good.

“Omurice, pancakes, and set meals. ALOHA MELT TERRACE Aeon Mall Sendai Uesugi Ten” is a dining restaurant that combines Hawaiian and Italian cuisine.
The interior is designed with a Hawaiian resort image in mind. With many box seats, it is said to be easy for families with children and groups to use casually.
A popular choice is the Omurice with demi-glace cheese sauce and Hamburger Steak. Made with 3 eggs, the large omelet is cooked to a soft set center and really whets the appetite.
Another crowd-pleaser is the bit of tableside entertainment, where the staff cuts into the omelet right in front of you and it dramatically opens up.
Not only does it stand out for how it looks, but the rich demi-glace sauce and cheese sauce are also an excellent combination.
They also serve fuwatoro Omurice, with rice covered in soft, runny egg. This one is said to have a mild and gentle flavor.

Omuroko (Omurice with demi-glace sauce and Hamburger Steak). The staff cuts open the Omurice with a knife right at the table and puts on a fun reveal as it opens up. The egg was soft and creamy, and the Hamburger Steak was thick and tasty. There was also a drink bar, so we could relax for a while, our conversation with friends really flowed, and we had a very meaningful time.

When you gently slide a knife into the jiggly Omurice, it opens right up with a dramatic "pakkān!" and the runny egg spills out. The soft, creamy texture of the half cooked egg is just irresistible. This Omurice has a rich, indulgent taste made with plenty of egg! The rich demi glace sauce goes perfectly with the flavorful butter rice.

Popular restaurants around the Sendai area [near Hirose-dori Station] where you can enjoy Omurice

Orange Tree is a restaurant located along Minamimachi-dori, which runs from the west exit of Sendai Station toward Nishi Koen (West Park). It is on the second floor of a building.
The interior was designed with the image of a backstreet in Europe. The decor is put together with warm touches, and there are Semi-private rooms and bench seating.
The ingredients on the food menu mainly come from Miyagi Prefecture. The vegetables, fish, and other items are said to be fresh and locally sourced.
Both the eggs and the rice used for the signature Omurice come from Shiroishi in Miyagi Prefecture. The eggs come from chickens raised in a natural environment, and are known for their rich flavor.

This Omurice features chicken rice covered with softly set egg. It is served with plenty of demi-glace sauce and more.
There is also a wide range of variations, including "Omurice with Chicken and Vegetables Simmered in Tomato Sauce" and "Cream Omurice with Bacon and Mushrooms."
Gianni Giannini
I had the unusual "Chicken and Vegetable Tomato Stew Omurice." For my after-meal drink, I chose an iced coffee. Consommé soup and salad were served, and after a short wait, the main Rice bowl arrived. The bright yellow and red colors were so vivid I almost mistook it for curry at first glance. The chicken presence was quite subtle, and it was a refreshing-tasting Omurice. This is the kind of dish that lets you enjoy the natural flavors of the ingredients without waiting for them to fully blend together.

I visited for dinner because I saw it on social media and got curious!! The inside has a warm feel and a calm space♪ Since it's a Private room, you can relax and take your time. This time, I ordered the Omurice set & matcha tiramisu. The egg was soft and creamy, and it was delicious!

There is a wide range of Omurice variations. In addition to the sauce, you can also choose the rice style: ketchup flavored, risotto style, or garlic butter flavored.
There are two styles: the "mukashinagara-fu kei (classic style)," where the rice is wrapped in a thin omelet, and the "fuwatoro-fu kei (soft and runny style)," topped with soft half cooked egg.
Photograph:lemono610
They offer a good range of sauces too, including the classic ketchup sauce, demi-glace sauce, and a light Japanese-style sauce.
A popular lunch-only menu item is the "Tan Stew-style Omurice," made with Beef Tongue simmered until tender. The chunky pieces of tongue are said to be tasty too.

I had the soft and fluffy egg Omurice! The lunch set came with salad, soup, and a drink. I love that the rice is ketchup rice♪ It comes with plenty of ketchup, so the flavor feels a bit strong in the second half, but it goes well with the creamy egg and tastes great!

The rice wrapped in softly set, fluffy egg has a gentle flavor, with just the right tang from the ketchup along with sweetness and richness, making it an easy dish for everyone from kids to adults to enjoy. The hayashi sauce is filled with large chunks of Beef Tongue, cooked until very tender, and the way it gently falls apart in your mouth feels amazing
