Kreis

Kreis, about a 2-minute walk from Exit 6 of Fushimi Station, is an authentic bar in an office district with an almost otherworldly feel.

Inside, many antique furnishings are arranged throughout the space. There are counter and table seats, creating a calm and weighty atmosphere.

The cocktails made with seasonal fruits like kaki (persimmon), La France pears, and melon are said to be carefully crafted with attention to the water and ice as well.

The photo shows a melon cocktail. It looks delicate, but it also has a solid alcoholic kick, with a nice balance of sweetness and fresh aroma.

The "Manhattan" is one of the signature cocktails at Kreis. The swirling process using a decanter is beautiful, making it a drink you can enjoy with your eyes as well.

They also stock rare whiskies, so it seems to offer a high level of Manzoku for those looking for a rich, full-bodied drink.

にゃまもと

We ordered a gin buck, a kiwifruit cocktail, and the house original called "Shooting Star." They were all easy to drink and very good. We also enjoyed chatting with the staff.

What I ordered was avocado salad, terrine, Hamburger Steak, and red wine. The wine stood out for its bold, toasty aroma, and it paired perfectly with the terrine. The Hamburger Steak is the restaurant's specialty, seared well on the outside and surprisingly juicy inside.

The drinks are good and the food is delicious too! I really love the sunagimo (gizzard) here because it’s so tasty! I also ordered the mascarpone cheese with honey that I’d been curious about for a while. It had just the right level of sweetness, so much so that I’d want to order it every time as a regular favorite!

At the winter-only kotatsu (heated table) terrace seats, we could enjoy our conversation without hearing the voices from nearby tables while sipping delicious Japanese sake. Every drink we chose with help from the staff, who knew Japanese sake very well, had a rare taste that we do not often get to try. All of the dishes, which brought out the flavors of the drinks, were excellent.

This time I had the lemon sour, and it was better than any lemon sour I’ve ever had. I wondered why, and they said it was because they added a touch of wasabi. I’d love to visit again just to drink this lemon sour. The bartender was also very friendly and kind.
