Ogura is a restaurant where you can enjoy traditional oden (Japanese hot pot dishes simmered in broth), prepared by an oden chef with 50 years of experience. It also has a good reputation for its a la carte dishes, so you can use it as an izakaya (Japanese pub) as well.
It is located on the basement level, a 5-minute walk from Ginza Station. Inside, there are counter and table seats, as well as Private room, so you can relax and enjoy your time.
Photograph:どうでゅーす
The main menu item, oden (Japanese one-pot stew), is made in Kanto style without using soy sauce, seasoned only with salt and based on broth from kombu kelp and bonito flakes.
The flavor has soaked well into each ingredient, and every item is said to taste carefully prepared. The most popular are the “daikon radish” and “tsumire (fish ball).”
Photograph:jtkhsh
You can choose from about 30 kinds of oden ingredients at all times, and not only the classics but also unusual items like kamo-gobo (duck and burdock) and zenmai (royal fern) are available.
If you are not sure what to order, the "oden assortment" is a great choice. It lets you enjoy a selection of recommended oden, including daikon radish.
KNxSON
The oden here stands out for its clear broth, made without any soy sauce at all and finished with just salt and dashi. From the first sip, I was struck by its gentle yet deep flavor. What impressed me most was the daikon radish. The golden broth had soaked all the way through, and the way it burst with flavor and melted in my mouth was on a whole different level from any oden I had eaten before.

ししまるだにゃん
The oden (Japanese stew) had a rich dashi aroma, the broth had soaked in well, and it was excellent. Even though this is an oden restaurant, the aji fry (fried horse mackerel) was thick and outstanding. Everything beyond the oden is tasty too, so it is well worth trying.

Ore no Kappo Oden Ginza is a restaurant about a 4-minute walk from Ginza Station Exit B5, where you can enjoy kappo (Japanese fine dining) centered on oden (Japanese hot pot dish).
The interior has a modern Japanese design and a relaxed, casual feel. In addition to table seating, there are 18 counter seats, making it a good fit for small groups.
Photograph:delamitri
The oden features a broth made with an exquisite blend of five ingredients, including katsuobushi (dried bonito flakes), saba-bushi (dried mackerel flakes), and yaki-ago (grilled flying fish). It is well liked for its rich umami and for bringing out the natural flavors of the ingredients.
Among the wide variety of oden items, including vegetables and seafood, the daikon radish is especially recommended as a dish that captures the restaurant's signature flavor.

The chef, who honed his skills at a renowned Japanese restaurant, serves a full lineup of dishes beyond oden (Japanese hot pot dish) as well. They also offer a wide selection of Japanese sake, so you will want to enjoy pairing it with the food.
If you want to fully enjoy what this restaurant has to offer, the "Casual Course of Standard Popular Menu Items," which combines oden with the restaurant's popular dishes, is a perfect choice.
GOGYAMA
This restaurant is in Ginza, but the prices are relatively reasonable, which makes it appealing for casually enjoying kappo (traditional Japanese fine dining) and oden (Japanese stew). The oden was very tasty, with the dashi flavor soaking in well and giving it a refined taste. There are also various a la carte dishes, and each one gives the impression of being carefully prepared. The interior has a calm Japanese atmosphere, with a mature space that feels very much like Ginza.

We ordered oden (Japanese one-pot stew) with daikon radish, konnyaku (firm yam cake), shungiku (edible chrysanthemum greens), and potatoes. The shungiku in particular soaked up the dashi especially well, and its gentle flavor left an impression. This is refined oden that makes the most of the quality of the ingredients. The chawanmushi (savory steamed egg custard) made with oden dashi was also delicious, with a rich dashi flavor you could really taste. The lineup of drinks, including Japanese sake, was also good, and they paired perfectly with the oden.

Kameko is a restaurant serving pure Kanto-daki oden (Kanto-style simmered hotpot) and Homemade dishes, carrying on the flavors of Otako, the long-established oden favorite founded in 1923.
Located in the basement of a building just a 1-minute walk from Higashi-Ginza Station, it is said to have an appealing hideaway atmosphere. Reviews also mention that it is easy to visit even on your own.

The oden (Japanese hot pot items simmered in broth), slowly simmered while the dashi broth is topped up every day, is said to have outstanding flavor and deep richness.
There is a wide variety, including the "daikon radish" that is so tender you barely need teeth, and the "cabbage roll," which the owner recommends. They also offer chilled oden in the summer season only.

They also offer a full lineup of a la carte dishes that pair perfectly with drinks, including chinmi (delicacies), sashimi (raw fish), and fried items.
The photo shows the "menchi-katsu (Japanese minced meat cutlet)," which is said to be a big favorite among regulars. This hearty cutlet is packed with juicy meat and topped with demi-glace sauce, making it a great snack to go with a drink.

Kamekou (Higashi-Ginza) is a hidden gem where you can enjoy oden (Japanese hot pot with assorted ingredients) that warms you to the core and a wide selection of shochu (Japanese distilled spirit). Every piece of carefully simmered oden is excellent, and the daikon radish and chikuwabu (wheat gluten cake) are especially memorable. They also have a wide range of shochu, and the staff recommendations are right on point. With its calm atmosphere, this is a great place to relax and enjoy a grown-up kind of time.

I had sasami ponzu (chicken tender with ponzu sauce) as a snack with Japanese sake. It had a light, nice flavor. The oden (Japanese stew) with its spread of dashi aroma was carefully prepared piece by piece, and it made the drinks go down easy. It was not noisy, so it was easy to talk, and the staff kept a comfortable sense of distance. It is a place where you can relax without putting on airs, and one that makes you want to drop by again.

Their signature Kyoto-style oden is made without any chemical seasonings, and served in a broth based on kombu kelp and bonito.
The broth is light yet full of deep umami, and it is said to pair well with each ingredient. They offer both A la carte and assortment menus.
The charcoal grilled dishes cooked over binchotan (high-grade Japanese charcoal) are also menu items you should definitely order. There is a wide variety, including beef Tenderloin steak skewers and grilled foie gras skewers.
The chicken skewers made with Shizuoka brand chicken Ajiwai-dori are also recommended. It is said to have strong sweetness and richness, while being lower in fat and calories than regular chicken.

I ordered an oden (Japanese hot pot dish) assortment, a yakitori (grilled chicken skewers) assortment, and some drinks. I was happy with the oden assortment because it came with ingredients I personally like. The seasoning was mild, and the broth was tasty. The yakitori was salted, and every skewer had tender, delicious chicken.

Because it was cold in winter, we looked for an oden (Japanese hot pot dish) place and went in. We reserved counter seats, and seeing the oden lined up right in front of us made us happy. The restaurant had a bright and lively atmosphere, and there was a wide selection of drinks, so I think people who like Japanese sake will especially enjoy it. Many people were ordering the grilled potato salad.

Ginza and Corrido-gai (Corrido Street) are known for having many upscale restaurants, but this place has a lively atmosphere inside and feels less like a high-end restaurant and more like a stylish, approachable taishu izakaya (casual Japanese pub). 海産物万歳
From the counter seats, you can watch the cooking, and the careful work made us feel at ease. The shiogama oden (salt-kiln oden) had a very good broth, and along with my favorite hanpen (fish cake) and daikon radish, the tsukune with Beef Tongue was also delicious. The three kinds of grilled Beef Tongue each differed in texture and juiciness, so it was nice to compare them as we ate.

One popular menu item you will definitely want to try is the "otakara chawanmushi (treasure steamed egg custard)," packed with the finest seafood.
It is lavishly filled with sea urchin, crab, and shark fin, and lets you enjoy delicate cooking and a smooth texture. Its gorgeous presentation is part of the appeal as well.

This oden restaurant builds your anticipation from the moment the aroma of its clear dashi broth rises up. The daikon radish gently falls apart with just a touch of the chopsticks, and the flavor has soaked all the way through to the center. The beef tendon and eggs also have a gentle taste that shows the careful preparation. The interior has a calm atmosphere, making it easy to visit even on your own, with a comfort that makes you want to stay a while.

From classic to creative, the wide variety of oden (Japanese hot pot dishes) all pairs perfectly with Japanese sake. The sashimi made with fresh fish delivered directly from Toyosu also brings out the full flavor of the ingredients, and it naturally makes the drinks go down easy. In particular, the chawanmushi (savory egg custard) topped generously with uni (sea urchin), ikura (salmon roe), and kani (crab) was irresistible thanks to the deep flavor of the dashi, and I fully enjoyed an amazing pairing with drinks!

The oden simmered in a savory broth made from meat was the best. The unusual oden item, renkon age-dashi manju (deep-fried lotus root dumpling in dashi broth) (I forgot to take a photo), was incredibly delicious♡The seared Wagyu yukhoe and chicken Kara-age covered with green onions were also excellent. The Kara-age in particular had a bold flavor that went perfectly with drinks. I also had some Japanese sake, and it made for a great night.

One thing you will definitely want to order when you visit is Shizuoka miso oden, a local specialty they have kept true to for more than 60 years.
This dish is seasoned with their own blend of beef tendon broth and enjoyed with sweet shiro miso (white miso). They also offer Kanto-style oden, known for its light taste.

If you want something to enjoy with drinks, the popular "sashimi assortment" is also recommended alongside the oden.
They source fresh fish from Toyosu, Shizuoka, and Tsukiji, and people praise it for being thick cut and fresh. You can enjoy it with kanro shoyu (sweet soy sauce) from Gotemba in Shizuoka, which does not get in the way of the fish's natural flavor.

The interior has a calm wa-modern (Japanese-modern) atmosphere, with counter seats, table seats, and Semi-private room seating. It is recommended for many occasions, including meals with someone important to you.
The menu features many dishes that blend Japanese and Western styles, and the yoshoku-style oden (Japanese stew) with its light flavor also seems to be popular.
They value the natural taste of the ingredients and carefully finish each dish with its own touch to bring out a range of flavors. It seems to pair well not only with Japanese sake but also with wine.

In addition, the menu offers everything from a la carte dishes that are perfect for nibbling on between conversations to desserts, so you can choose based on how hungry you are.
Reviews say the curry, made with a house blend of spices, is also popular. They say it is carefully prepared and easy to enjoy even after drinking.

I had a meal at Sosaku Washoku Bettei Ekubo in Ginza. The yoshoku oden (Western-style oden) and the other dishes were all quite good. The restaurant also has a nice hideaway atmosphere. Their curry also seems to come recommended, so I’ll save that for next time.

As the weather gets colder, I suddenly found myself craving oden (Japanese hot pot), so I booked the Western style oden course! From the cedar scent rising from the oshibori (hand towel), to the calm space where everyone could focus on the conversation and the meal, to the many refined dishes, the whole place felt so luxurious that it almost seemed too elegant for me! And yet, it was reasonably priced!

The Kyoto-style oden (Japanese hot pot with ingredients simmered in broth), finished with a secret stock, is a signature item made from a carefully preserved recipe that has remained unchanged for 30 years.

The fresh fish changes depending on what they get in, and they use Special fresh ingredients. The photo shows the "You Have to Try It! Aburi Shime Saba (seared cured mackerel)," which lets you enjoy rich, fatty shime saba (cured mackerel).
They also offer meat dishes such as chicken Kara-age and beef tendon, so even people who prefer meat over fish are sure to enjoy it.
細いけど食います
This was a place where the warm oden (Japanese hot pot dishes simmered in broth) felt especially welcome in winter. The broth had soaked in well, and it warmed you right to the core. Each appetizer also had a solid portion size, so it felt very Manzoku. On top of that, they had a wide selection of drinks, including stylish wines, and they paired perfectly with the food.

In the cold winter, Hot Pot dishes and oden really hit the spot, but at this place, the top recommendation is the lightly seasoned Kyo-fu oden (Kyoto-style oden)! They offer a wide variety, including daikon radish topped with tororo kombu (shredded kombu kelp), konnyaku cut into easy-to-eat pieces, atsuyage (deep-fried tofu), and gomoku ganmo (fried tofu fritter with mixed ingredients). It also went well with alcohol! Since the portions are filling, the five-item assortment was really just right for four people.
