The recommended “Hokkaido no Sashi assortment<6 kinds>” features the best items available from that day’s catch.
Each thick cut piece of sashimi is fresh, and packed with the natural flavor of the ingredients. The plump, springy texture is said to be irresistible too.

The "Isoyaki assortment" is a popular menu item featuring seasonal seafood that you grill at the table and eat.
It comes piled high with oysters, shrimp, shellfish, and more, making it very satisfying! Grilling it yourself and eating it makes it taste even better, too.

First, we ordered the sashimi assortment and hokke hiraki (opened and dried Atka mackerel). The sashimi was extremely fresh. The white fish had a light taste packed with umami. The hokke hiraki had firm flesh. You really can’t go wrong with hokke. The top recommendation is the steamed oysters. The large oysters filled the mouth with umami.

Great value for money! The food was good across the board! The tsuufuu gunkan (gunkan topped with rich seafood like sea urchin and salmon roe) was especially the best. The combo of uni (sea urchin) and ikura (salmon roe) was pure happiness... Since this is Hokkaido, the Kitaakari potato fries were outstandingly good—the aburi shime saba (seared cured mackerel) was nicely torched too, which was great.

It seems charcoal grilling and sashimi are the main draws, and I really enjoyed the kama (fish collar) and lamb, while the sashimi was thick cut and tasty. Overall, the dishes had a creative feel, and I could tell they put a lot of care into the presentation♪

Getting hamaguri (hard clams) in Asahikawa (Asahikawa) was a surprise(^^) And in a wanko soba style! I wanted to try the other dishes too, so I stopped at 9 clams, with 3 clams × 3 rounds(^_^;) Also, when I ordered the soba salad, I thought it would be a salad with soba in it, but it was soba topped with salad(^_^;) It was quite filling(^^) But I also had the grilled shrimp with mayonnaise! The "Butamaki Tsukemon Kushi Goshu (five kinds of pork-wrapped pickle skewers)" is a popular menu item that almost everyone who visits orders.
Inside the fragrant grilled pork-wrapped skewers are takuan (pickled daikon), Nozawana-zuke (pickled nozawana greens), shinshoga (young ginger), kimchi, and more. The balance of the pork fat's sweetness with the pickles' acidity and saltiness is said to be just right.

You can also enjoy pairings with the food, so they always have more than 15 kinds of Japanese sake on hand.
The dry Jokigen Tokubetsu Junmai has a clean finish and is said to pair well with Japanese cuisine and salt-based dishes. They are also particular about the sake vessels, and use sakeware from Nousaku, which is known for its tin products.

Takuan (pickled daikon radish), shin-shoga (young ginger), Nozawana (Nozawa mustard greens), kimchi, and one more that I can't remember (^-^; The pickles themselves seem to be mostly sourced products, but they were seasoned just right and tasted great.
