Located about a 5-minute walk after getting off at Sakae Station and exiting via Oasis 21, Sumibi Kushiyaki Yone is a popular spot in Nagoya where you can enjoy authentic yakitori made with Mikawa-dori (Mikawa chicken), a branded chicken from Aichi Prefecture.
The interior is small and calm, making it just right for small group gatherings.
Photograph:1a9451
The yakitori skewers here are popular, made with Special freshly butchered Mikawa-dori (Mikawa chicken) sourced with care and grilled over binchotan (high-grade Japanese charcoal) at high heat.
Each cut is cooked with perfect heat, bringing out the full flavor of the chicken.
Photograph:kunio812
The rare cut "soriresu (oyster cut from the base of the chicken thigh)" is popular for being especially tasty.
It has a nice springy texture, a rich flavor, and an excellent balance of fat. This popular skewer often sells out, so it is best to order it early.

This yakitori restaurant wins you over not with flash, but with real skill❗️Binchotan (high-grade Japanese charcoal) × asabiki Mikawa-dori (freshly butchered Mikawa chicken) deliver a solid, reliable taste, along with a calm space and thoughtful service. Even with custom orders that include rare cuts, this level of Manzoku and the price are honestly impressive❗️It feels casual, yet the mood is like high-end yakitori. This is the kind of place that makes you feel like an adult who knows a good restaurant.

This was my first time at this restaurant, and it was incredibly good. The Kara-age chicken wings were especially outstanding! The sweet and salty sauce paired perfectly with the crispy fried wings, and I just could not stop eating them、、、The kushiyaki (grilled skewers) were also moist and juicy, and really tasty! The size was just right too, so I got to enjoy all kinds of skewers,!!!

"Sumibi Yakitori Oboro" is a restaurant where you can enjoy a range of chicken dishes centered on yakitori, made with freshly processed Junkei Nagoya Cochin (purebred Nagoya Cochin) chicken.
It is close to Sakae Station and Yabacho Station, and the interior is said to have a stylish atmosphere like an adult hideaway. It has both counter and table seating.

The yakitori (grilled chicken skewers), carefully grilled over binchotan (high-grade Japanese charcoal), lets you enjoy the rich flavor of fresh ingredients and the toasty aroma that only charcoal grilling can bring.
In addition to chicken, they also offer skewers starring beef, duck, and vegetables. If you have trouble choosing from the menu, the skewer assortment is a good pick.

They offer a full lineup of chicken dishes that go well with drinks, including Kara-age and butter sauteed chicken.
There are also many positive reviews for the addictive chicken wings. These spicy wings, coated in a special sauce, are said to be so good that you'll want to savor them right down to the bone.

I came in a bit skeptical, wondering what Nagoya yakitori (grilled chicken skewers) would be like, but it’s really good〜. Everything was at a pretty high level. We sat at a table, but regular-looking customers kept streaming in at the counter, so this was a great find!

The yakitori (grilled chicken skewers) are also carefully grilled one skewer at a time, and the negima (chicken and scallion skewer) and makigushi (wrapped skewer) are cooked just right. The dish that impressed me most was the "addictive curry-flavored chicken wings." The aroma of the spices really stands out, with a crisp outside and juicy inside. They were completely different from ordinary chicken wings, and this was definitely a dish I would order again.

Located a 2-minute walk from Yabacho Station and also within walking distance of Sakae Station, Oicho Sakae Ten is a well-reviewed spot where you can enjoy a step above the usual sumibiyaki (charcoal-grilled) yakitori, made by carefully skewering high-quality branded chicken.
Inside, the restaurant features a stylish and relaxed space with an interior that makes the most of the natural wood grain.
The yakitori at this restaurant uses Kinso-dori (a chicken brand from Aichi Prefecture). Even when grilled, it stays tender, with a plump texture and rich umami.
For seasoning, they use house-made salt that takes one week to complete, finishing it with natural flavor without adding chemical seasonings.
Photograph:vega29
In addition to yakitori (grilled chicken skewers), they offer a full lineup of skewers made with a wide range of ingredients, including pork and vegetables.
Reviews also speak highly of the "kohitsuji no yuzukosho-yaki (grilled lamb with yuzu pepper)." The thick cut lamb is tender with no off notes at all, and it seems to pair well with the sharp kick of the yuzukosho.
美食家B=マツ
Overall, they use the charcoal fire really well, and none of the skewers are overcooked or undercooked. The meat is tender, and you can tell they do the prep work with care. There is no flashy presentation, but the strength of this place is that every single skewer is consistently good. It is just the right spot for a night when you want to drink quietly and enjoy good yakitori (grilled chicken skewers).

Located on the 4th floor of a building, this restaurant has a calm Japanese modern atmosphere with wood as the main design theme. There are many Semi-private room seats as well, so we could relax and enjoy our meal and conversation without worrying about the people around us. The first thing we ordered was the "Hiden Tebasaki Kara-age (secret recipe fried chicken wings)," which is also in the restaurant's name. This time we chose the sweet and spicy “shiro (white)” flavor, and it was crisp and fragrant on the outside, while the inside was plump and juicy.

The interior had a lovely atmosphere, like a renovated kominka (traditional Japanese house)! We ordered the Omakase skewer 7-piece course and the mackerel Clay Pot rice! The amuse was elaborate and innovative, but the flavors were also well thought out, and I felt this was a great choice! The Appetizers carpaccio was also seasoned with care. Starting with the long standing menu item "cochin-nabe (Nagoya Cochin chicken Hot Pot)," the restaurant offers a wide range of dishes including Nagoya specialties like miso kushi-katsu (deep fried skewered cutlet with miso sauce) and tebasaki (chicken wings).
With Nagoya Cochin as the star, there are also several kaiseki (traditional multi-course meal) courses that pair it with seasonal ingredients, making this a good choice when you want to take your time and enjoy the food.
珍味より美味
Although the restaurant is in a lively part of town, the atmosphere inside is very calm and refined, and the service is polite. Every dish brought out the best of Nagoya Cochin (Nagoya Cochin chicken) and tasted great. I ordered the steamed chicken salad, Kara-age, and an assortment of yakitori. Each one used a different cooking method, but all of them had the pleasant, distinctive bite that is unique to Cochin chicken, which made them very good.

For its yakitori, the restaurant uses Kinso-dori (free-range chicken). There is a wide range of cuts, including "reba (liver)," which has a rich texture and deep flavor, and "sasami (chicken tenderloin)," known for its simple, good taste.
For seasoning, they use house-made salt, which is said to condense the umami with natural dashi broth.

In addition to skewer dishes, they also offer a full lineup of single dishes you would expect at an izakaya, including fried items and stews. The most popular of them all is agedashi-dofu (deep-fried tofu in broth).
For first-time visitors or anyone unsure what to order, the "Hajimete Set" is recommended, bringing together the restaurant's signature dishes.

They offer a wide variety of kushi (skewers), and they are cheap and tasty. There are plenty of options besides skewers too, so it also works very well as an izakaya (Japanese pub). The kushiyaki (grilled skewers) take a little time, so it might be a good idea to order some quick dishes first. It was also nice to have lots of drink options to choose from. It is also convenient as a meeting spot, so I would like to visit again.

The inside of the restaurant was clean and nice. The menu was extensive, and they had plenty of options besides skewers too, so it was a place I’d like to visit again.

Starting with the classic sasami (chicken tender), the skewers such as liver, Heart, tsukune (chicken meatball), shiitake (shiitake mushroom), asparagus wrapped in pork, Aorta, quail egg, and nagaimo (Chinese yam) are reliably tasty, but don't overlook the a la carte dishes either. They also have a full lineup of great drinking snacks like squid dressed with uni (sea urchin) and crab miso, and firefly squid with Chanja, plus finishing dishes like fried rice cakes.

Koyomi is a restaurant where you can enjoy a wide range of Japanese sake along with dishes centered on kushiyaki (grilled skewers). It is a great choice not only for yakitori but also for a casual izakaya meal.
It is a 5-minute walk from Sakae Station in Nagoya, and every seat is in a Private room style. There are sofa seats and Sunken kotatsu seating, creating a space where you can relax and unwind.
Photograph:茶羅
Yakitori can be ordered from just 1 skewer, and they also offer Omakase skewer assortments in sets of 6 or 12. They also serve vegetable skewers.
Among the many kinds of yakitori, the "Tsukimi Tsukune" dipped in egg yolk seems to be especially popular. It is said to have a nice soft and fluffy texture.
Photograph:茶羅
They also offer a wide range of casual à la carte dishes that pair well with Japanese sake. You will also find stews and small Hot Pot dishes that change with the season.
The photo shows their house-made atsuage (deep-fried tofu), which gets great reviews. It is said to have a crispy surface and a creamy inside, and you can enjoy it piping hot.

It’s a stylish place with a great atmosphere. I was shown to a hidden Private room under the stairs. The quality of the food is high. As you’d expect from Sakae. The Omakase skewer assortment choice is quietly outstanding. I wish I had this place in my neighborhood.

Every yakitori (grilled chicken skewer) was juicy and insanely good‼️I especially loved the asparagus meat roll, with its fresh, juicy asparagus, and ordered it again. I tried nama-yuba (fresh tofu skin) sashimi for the first time, and its texture was unique, creamy, and delicious.

Sumibiyaki Tori Mamedori Sakae Sumiyoshi Ten is a popular spot around Sakae Station in Nagoya, recommended for casually enjoying yakitori (grilled chicken skewers) and drinks. Their fresh chicken, prepared the same morning, is especially well received.
The 1st floor has counter seats that are easy to use even when dining alone, the 2nd floor has table seating, and the 3rd floor has Private room seating, so the wide variety of seating options makes it convenient for many different occasions.

For its yakitori (grilled chicken skewers), the restaurant uses branded chicken sourced from trusted suppliers: Kinso-dori and Mikawa-dori.
Each skewer is slowly grilled over binchotan (high-grade charcoal), giving the chicken a tender texture and bringing out the rich flavor that comes from very fresh poultry. They also offer a wide selection of vegetable skewers.
Photograph:まさ67991
In front of the counter, they have "gyusuji dote-ni (beef tendon miso stew)" simmered in a large pot with Wagyu.
The ingredients are said to be well infused with the deep richness of miso, and some say the melt-in-your-mouth texture is excellent. It is a dish that seems perfect for making the drinks go down easy.

This is my go to place whenever I want yakitori (grilled chicken skewers). The skewers are carefully grilled over charcoal, giving them a great aroma, a nicely crisp outside, and a moist inside, so you can really taste the quality of each cut. Each skewer is grilled with great care, and one of the best things about this place is that everything on the menu is consistently good.

"Sumibi Yakitori Torinbo" is located between Sakae Station and Shin-Sakaemachi Station, and casually serves charcoal grilled yakitori made with Okumikawa-dori (Okumikawa chicken).
The homey atmosphere is one of the highlights inside, and it is said to be perfect for lively Banquets. The restaurant is equipped with counter and table seating.

The yakitori uses fresh Okumikawa-dori (chicken from the Okumikawa region) that was butchered that very morning. A wide range of cuts is available, and the most popular are the Heart and kimo (liver).
Okumikawa-dori, raised in the nature of Aichi Prefecture, is said to be appealing for its springy texture and juicy, rich flavor.

In addition to yakitori, they offer a wide range of dishes that let you enjoy jidori (local chicken). When getting together with a group, the courses with All you can drink are a great value.
Of course there is yakitori, and the course also includes plenty from Appetizers to dessert. It is sure to make for a fun gathering. Courses can be ordered for groups of 3 or more.

The yakitori (grilled chicken skewers) uses Special ingredients, with each skewer prepared by hand at the restaurant before being grilled over charcoal.
By grilling them slowly until fragrant, the flavor becomes concentrated and they turn out delicious. In addition to chicken skewers, they also offer fish skewers and vegetable skewers.

幸せバター
At this restaurant where you can enjoy yakitori (grilled chicken skewers) and sashimi, I was impressed by how good all the yakitori were, including Heart, gizzard, and liver. For the sashimi items, I ordered maguro (tuna) sushi, hamachi (young yellowtail), and kanpachi (greater amberjack), and the toppings were very large and tasty. I would like to go again.

The yakitori, starting with the Heart and bonjiri (tail), had just the right doneness and great texture. The vegetable skewers, like shiitake (shiitake mushroom) and onion, also got more flavorful with every bite and tasted great. They also have fish skewers you can only enjoy here. The shio saba (salted mackerel), white fish, and shrimp were all good with their simple seasoning and grilling. Personally, the shio saba was the winner️.

Yakitori Kinzan Sumiyoshi Ten, about a 6-minute walk from Sakae Station, is a yakitori restaurant with more than 20 restaurants, mainly in Aichi Prefecture as well as in Tokyo and Mie.
With the concept of refined Japanese modern style where anyone can relax with ease, it offers yakitori and a la carte dishes that pair perfectly with drinks.

They use fresh jidori (free-range chicken) prepared the same morning for the yakitori, and carefully skewer each part by hand.
They grill it boldly over high-heat charcoal, bringing each skewer to a finish that packs in the ingredient’s natural flavor. They season it with a secret sauce and Special salt.
Photograph:きゃおホビ
They also offer a full lineup of skewers beyond chicken, including vegetables and quail eggs. The popular cheese skewer, grilled on a Teppan-yaki plate, is another item that will make you want to keep the wine coming. You can order from just 1 skewer.
With careful control of the heat, they bring out the best in the cheese, letting you enjoy its melty texture and rich aroma.
ぱくぱくEBI!
To go with the drinks, we ordered and enjoyed a variety of skewers including Heart, asparagus wrapped skewers, skin, chicken thigh, and seseri (neck meat), as well as a la carte dishes such as chicken yukhoe (Korean-style raw seasoned chicken) and cream cheese marinated in miso. The chicken, carefully grilled over binchotan (high-grade charcoal), had no off notes at all, and the cooking was spot on. It had a nice springy texture and was very tasty.

I had a course where I could enjoy the specialty dakkanmari Hot Pot and yakitori (grilled chicken skewers). The Hot Pot came with a whole chicken in it, so it was really filling‼️I loved dipping the chicken, cooked in a gentle broth, into the special sauce that you can mix to your own taste.

Sandai-me Torimero Sakae Hirokoji-dori Ten, about a 5-minute walk from Exit 12 of Sakae Station, is a casual izakaya where you can enjoy a wide range of chicken dishes.
The interior has a relaxed atmosphere, and it can be used for everything from drinks with friends to company Banquets, depending on the group size and occasion.

The yakitori here uses carefully selected Seiryu Wakadori (young chicken) with clear information on the production region, producer, and raising methods.
Their signature dish is a big grilled whole chicken thigh skewer, and it is said to be a menu item you should try at least once. You can enjoy the yakitori with their secret sauce or a special blend of salt made with kombu kelp dashi.

The chicken menu goes well beyond skewers, and diners say every dish is better than expected.
The tsukune (chicken meatballs) comes in a style that is not served on a skewer. Along with the standard "with egg yolk," they also offer creative options like "niku-zume piiman (green peppers stuffed with meat)" and "cheese sauce."

I visited with a group of more than 20 people for the wrap-up party after an event I took part in. It had been a while since I last ate and drank with such a big group, and we had a very lively and fun time. We had beer, highballs, lemon sours, and finished with cassis orange. The salad and Kara-age were perfect as snacks with drinks, and everything was very tasty.

Looking for an izakaya (Japanese pub) late at night! So you're open late on weekends. For now, Mero-san. They really grill the yakitori (grilled chicken skewers) properly over charcoal. Even though it's a chain restaurant!! I enjoyed it and it was simply good! Also, the beer is super cheap!
