Kuzushi Kappo Bonta Hapirin Ten is a kappo-style izakaya in a great location just 30 seconds from JR Fukui Station. You can enjoy dishes made with locally sourced ingredients together with local sake.
The interior has a Japanese feel and is said to be clean and well kept. It has counter seats, table seats, and zashiki (tatami seating), so it looks easy to use for many different occasions.

Every day, they source fresh seafood from Fukui Prefecture, so you can enjoy tasty seafood that matches the season.
If you want to enjoy the seafood in a simple way, sashimi is the way to go. They also offer A la carte options, but the popular choice is the "shun no sashimi assortment (seasonal sashimi assortment)."
Photograph:もってけ泥棒2
They stock a wide selection of well-known local sake chosen for each season, with always at least 8 varieties available.
When it comes to local Fukui sake, you will want to pair it with a Fukui specialty dish. The "Fukui Meibutsu Zabuton Ageyaki" is a dish of thick fried tofu, cooked until the surface is nicely browned while the inside stays plump and juicy.
Summer Time Memories
They had a wide variety of dishes, from sashimi to fried items. There were also lots of dishes made with crab, and every one was excellent. I got to enjoy the local specialty in many different ways. In particular, the crab cream croquette, Wakasa gyu (Wakasa beef) rare cutlet, and nodoguro (blackthroat seaperch) were the best.

The food and drinks had a great selection of items unique to Fukui (Fukui), which was really nice. We had fried satoimo (taro), atsuage (deep-fried tofu), and iwa-mozuku (mozuku seaweed), and while I used to think of crab first when it came to Fukui, it was really nice to enjoy so many local specialties. They also handled the change in the number of people smoothly.

Kirakuizakaya Wayoshi is an izakaya about a 5-minute walk from Echizen-Kaihatsu Station on the Echizen Railway, where you can enjoy local Fukui sake and seasonal dishes.
The homey interior has also drawn reviews saying it feels as calm and relaxing as spending time at home.

They serve seasonal seafood, and you can enjoy the On-the-Day recommended neta (toppings).
The drink selection is also extensive, with sake carefully chosen by the owner from 13 breweries in Fukui. They also offer non-alcoholic cocktails and fruit liqueurs, so even people who do not like alcohol can feel at ease.
Photograph:くぅ789
It has a strong reputation not only for seafood but also for its tasty meat dishes. They offer a wide range of meat dishes to choose from, from fried items to grilled dishes.
The photo shows the Echizen-dori (Echizen chicken) charcoal grill. They also serve specialty dishes made with brand chickens such as Nagoya Cochin and Oaso-dori (Oaso chicken).
Ginza1024
In a residential area some distance from the station and tucked one street back from the main road, this must be one of those local spots known mainly to people in the know. The meal started with seikogani (female snow crab). First, I took a bite of the leg meat without any crab vinegar! The meat had soft fibers, a light saltiness, and that rich crab flavor—it was so good. The thick, clingy crab miso was just unbelievably delicious! Japanese sake was definitely the right move... I switched from beer, and wow, it was great.

We sat in a horigotatsu (sunken floor seating) Private room and ordered several dishes. The wait for the food was pleasant, and everything we tried was tasty, but the Outside skirt steak was especially good. It is a place I would like to visit again.

"Okinawa Ryori Haekaji" is a popular izakaya about a 3-minute walk from Fukui Station’s west exit, where you can enjoy a wide variety of authentic Okinawan dishes and awamori (Okinawan distilled liquor).
They regularly host live Okinawan folk music performances, so you can fully enjoy the feeling of being right there in Okinawa. In addition to counter seats, the restaurant also has comfortable zashiki (tatami seating) where you can relax.
Photograph:snooek
They source most of their ingredients from Okinawa and recreate authentic local flavors as closely as possible. The menu features familiar dishes such as umi-budo (sea grapes) and goya chanpuru (stir-fried bitter melon).
The house-special rafute (simmered pork belly) is said to have a melt-in-your-mouth texture and a sweet-savory flavor that makes you want a bowl of rice.
Photograph:ゆんのん
What you will want to enjoy with Okinawan local cuisine is Okinawan awamori (Okinawan distilled spirit). They always have more than 30 kinds available, and you can also compare different drinks.
They stock brands that are rare in Fukui, and "Maruta" is said to have the distinctive character unique to awamori while also featuring a gentle sweetness and rich aroma.
JUNKEY
Looking over the menu, we enjoyed umi-budo (sea grapes), shima-rakkyo (Okinawan shallots), and the limited-quantity octopus and goya (bitter melon) vinegared dish. We also had Okinawan specialties like goya champuru (stir-fried bitter melon) and rafute (Okinawan braised pork belly). The cost performance is fairly good, and the food is tasty enough that it makes sense the place is almost fully booked with reservations. Inside, the lively voices of the staff and Okinawan music echo pleasantly through the restaurant, really making it feel like a tropical getaway!

It was my first time trying shima-rakkyo (Okinawan shallots), and they were so good that I ordered another serving. Even though I’ve been to this place several times, I’d never had the shima-rakkyo before, and now they’ve become a real favorite. The awamori (Okinawan distilled liquor) tasting flight was also great.

Isono Hana is a place you can enjoy as a seafood Rice bowl lunch spot during the day and a seafood izakaya (Japanese pub) at night. It is located in Osecho, about 10 minutes by car from Fukui Station.
There are 45 seats in total inside, with zashiki (tatami seating) and counter seats, and private bookings are also available. It is known as a place where you can relax and take your time.

At night, the restaurant offers a wide range of dishes centered on fresh seafood that pair well with alcohol, and among them, the "sashimi assortment" is one of the most popular items. A single plate is packed with seasonal fresh fish, and people say it is exciting from the moment it arrives.
Since you can order from just one serving, reviews also say it is a nice option when you want to enjoy a drink alone with some good fish as a snack.

Hot Pot dishes are something you will definitely want to enjoy in the cold season. They are served not only à la carte but also as part of courses.
The "Goka Bukkkomi Kaisen-nabe (luxurious loaded seafood Hot Pot)" is a rich Hot Pot packed with seafood flavor. You can choose from two types of broth: Japanese-style or Chige. Its generous volume, almost overflowing from the pot, is also popular.

Each fish had moist flavor and aroma you could really taste, and every bite had the kind of freshness that makes you think, “Today’s catch is definitely the good stuff!” The especially fatty slices practically melted in the mouth without feeling heavy at all, and they were so good they made me want a drink!

Kaisen-nabe (seafood Hot Pot). You can choose either Japanese style or Chige soup, and I went with the Japanese style. The bai-gai (whelk) and sweet shrimp, and really every ingredient, tasted great. The Japanese style soup was especially delicious. The moment I tasted it, I knew I had to finish with udon. Since we were already full, we ordered just one per person of udon. It goes really well with the udon.

Suisho Fukui Ekimae Ten is an izakaya tucked away in a back alley just steps from Fukui Station, with the charm of a hidden retreat. You can enjoy a wide range of food and drinks prepared by the veteran owner, who trained in Japanese cuisine for 10 years.
Inside, the restaurant has comfortable Private rooms and Sunken kotatsu seating, creating a cozy and relaxing space with a homey feel.
Photograph:料理をまなぶんぶん
The menu offers an original lineup of dishes, and you can enjoy them with more than 80 kinds of drinks, centered on local sake from both inside and outside the prefecture.
The restaurant's signature "Suisho Shio Hot Pot" is a Hot Pot that brings out the full flavor of Nagoya Cochin (Nagoya free-range chicken), a local Nagoya chicken. It uses chicken bone broth simmered for 10 hours.
Photograph:夏目さん。
They also offer a wide range of dishes made with Nagoya Cochin (Nagoya chicken), each carefully prepared from the prep stage.
For casual drinks and snacks, the sumibi yakitori (charcoal grilled chicken skewers) is also recommended. It is grilled over bincho-tan (high grade white charcoal), and you can also enjoy rare cuts.

I reserved a chicken course meal. The volume was Manzoku. It was All you can drink, and the drinks were served smoothly as well. The yakitori made with Nagoya Cochin (Nagoya chicken) had a rustic, bold flavor, and I was satisfied. It was more than enough for a Banquet.

First visit. The specialty tori-nabe (chicken Hot Pot) was incredibly good. Even the ramen To finish was excellent. I also really appreciated that bottled beer was included in the All you can drink option. After the Hot Pot, I also had some yakitori (grilled chicken skewers) as a snack, and it was very tasty, so I ended up drinking a little too much. Thank you very much.

Ryuno Hige, about a 1-minute walk from Fukuijoshi Station, is an izakaya (Japanese pub) known for its excellent yakitori (grilled chicken skewers), showcasing the skill of an owner with more than 40 years of experience.
The bright interior has a nice atmosphere, making it a place where you will want to relax for as long as possible. There are counter and table seats, so it looks easy to visit whether you are alone or with a group.
Photograph:タクミネス
Instead of serving yakitori (grilled chicken) on skewers, this restaurant grills the meat over charcoal and serves it directly on a plate. It makes a perfect casual snack to go with drinks.
The yakitori uses Awaodori (Tokushima free-range chicken) from Tokushima Prefecture, and you can enjoy its pleasantly firm texture, sweetness, and rich flavor.
Photograph:我意
It is well reviewed not only for meat dishes such as yakitori (grilled chicken skewers), but also for seafood dishes that are good enough to leave you satisfied. To finish after enjoying the drinks, nigiri (hand-formed sushi) and makimono (sushi rolls) are also recommended.
Some say the neta (sushi toppings) and shari (seasoned sushi rice) are both in great condition, making for an impressive final result. They also offer an ozukuri (sashimi platter) menu.
我意
From regional dishes to the restaurant’s original creations, there is a wide variety, and I’m glad you can feel their care for the ingredients and the careful work that goes into each dish. The yakitori (grilled chicken skewers) is served not on skewers but on a plate (equivalent to 2 skewers), which seems convenient for sharing among several people.

There is a grill area at the entrance of the restaurant, and the street is filled with a nice roasted aroma. Today I decided to go with chicken dishes, so I started with nankotsu Kara-age and mushi-dori sashimi (steamed chicken sashimi). They use Awaodori (Tokushima native chicken) from Tokushima Prefecture, and it has a pretty firm bite. They also have a wide selection of Japanese sake, which is nice.

I ended up walking around in circles by myself trying to decide where to go, and I just went into this place on a whim, but it was a great find. The day before, I had eaten lots of sashimi dishes at a different izakaya, so this day I ordered things other than sashimi. While drinking beer and highballs, I ordered rakkyo (pickled shallots), Teppan-yaki gyoza, Kara-age, and onigiri (rice balls). I learned that the rice from Fukui is really delicious.

The interior has a stylish feel and offers a relaxed setting. There is a wide variety of seating, from counter seats to Private room options.
The kushiyaki (grilled skewers) are cooked over the finest binchotan (high-grade Japanese charcoal), specifically shirozumi (white charcoal), which gives them a juicy finish thanks to the far infrared effect.

Fukui is all about fish. I enjoyed sashimi, grilled amadai (tilefish), and namero (minced fish with seasonings). Both being fresh and tasty was only to be expected. On top of that, I also enjoyed meat dishes. I was also able to try local Japanese sake. The Japanese sake was fruity and paired well with the food, and I ended up drinking it down with ease.

Here it is, the 5-item assortment and beni shoga (pickled red ginger) (^^) Everything is good, but the onion is outstanding! The onion is cooked just right, with none of the sharpness left, and the heat brings out its sweetness! Crunchy is nice too, but soft and melty is great as well (*´ー`*)。In between bites, you can keep things light with fresh cabbage.

It had been a while since I last went all in on fried food, but fried dishes are the best!! By the way, the yakisoba had noodles as thick as hirau-don (flat udon) and a flavor like Japanese dashi broth! The niku-sui (beef soup)! It tastes great whenever you have it, and it is not heavy, so I end up ordering it whenever it is on the menu.

They offer a Yakiniku menu with a wide range of cuts made with freshly butchered chicken.
The chicken, including Awaodori and Satsuma-dori, is easy to eat and full of flavor, and one of its appeals is that you can enjoy it as a healthier option than beef. You can enjoy it with the house original sauce.

For group get-togethers, courses with All you can drink are also a great choice. They are available for parties of 2 or more.
You can choose from several kinds of courses, including plans that let you enjoy chicken dishes and beef dishes at the same time, as well as plans with Yakiniku and chicken dishes. For All you can drink, you can choose either a 90-minute or 120-minute option.

It was my first time visiting this restaurant, but it was a clean and nice place. I chose a Private room on the second floor. The view of Fukui Katamachi-dori (Fukui Katamachi Street) from the window gave it a nice feel. The grilled chicken, low-temperature-cooked nama reba (fresh liver), and paitan-nabe (rich white broth Hot Pot) were all delicious. You can also enjoy beef and pork Yakiniku.

A friend came from Tokyo late at night, so I looked for a restaurant that stayed open late and found this place. The restaurant is on the Kaku of the entrance intersection to the Katamachi entertainment district. There is no parking lot, but there is a coin parking area right in front of the restaurant with space for about 10 cars. As a restaurant that mainly highlights chicken Yakiniku, it has a wide variety of chicken Yakiniku menu items.

Uo to Gohan Masuyone is located inside the complex facility TSURUGA POLT SQUARE otta, right in front of Tsuruga Station in Tsuruga City, Fukui Prefecture.
You can visit for a meal during the day or as an izakaya (Japanese pub) at night. The restaurant serves rich dishes centered on seafood and mountain produce from Fukui. In addition to counter seating, it also has Semi-private room table seating.
Photograph:ウエノマレ
They offer a lineup of fresh, seasonal seafood shipped directly from Tsuruga Port, which you can enjoy as sashimi, fried dishes, grilled dishes, and more.
With the luxurious sashimi assortment, you will definitely want to pair it with local sake from Fukui. If you are not sure what to choose, the local sake tasting menu is a good pick.
Photograph:令和のくいしん坊
They also offer a wide selection of visually vibrant kaisendon (seafood Rice bowls), with several kinds available such as the ikura Rice bowl and maguro Rice bowl.
The photo shows the restaurant's specialty, kani-mabushi (crab mixed rice). You can enjoy tasty crab meat all year round, paired with good rice from Fukui.

The nodoguro (blackthroat seaperch) pressed sushi was incredibly delicious. I also ordered the heshiko (fermented mackerel preserved in rice bran) sashimi because it was so unusual. I got carried away and drank some Japanese sake too, and that was delicious as well. If I come to Tsuruga Station again, this is a place I’d want to visit again when I’m hungry.

I found this place while looking for an izakaya near Tsuruga Station where I could eat seafood. I got to eat lots of kani (crab), and it was great. Since it is right by the station, it seems many people stop by before getting on the shinkansen. Besides kani, I could enjoy all kinds of seafood and drink local sake, so I really got to enjoy Fukui.

The seasonal echizen-gani (Echizen crab) is said to be a popular menu item with many customers from both inside and outside the prefecture.
Seiko-gani, the female crab of the same species as echizen-gani, is said to have rich crab tomalley that is hard to resist. They grill it right in front of you, so you can enjoy it in a luxurious way.

There were plenty of seats, and there was also a second floor. We had Sea Bream shabu-shabu and squid sashimi, and everything was fresh and delicious. There were lots of items on the menu, so I thought even people who are not into seafood could still enjoy going here.

ケントの森
The ikejime ika (live-killed squid) had a really nice texture and sweetness, and it was very tasty! The sashimi and saikyo-yaki (Kyoto-style miso grill) were all great too, and if I had not eaten so much sauce katsudon at lunch that I felt ready to burst, I would have loved to try more things〜The inside had a calm and stylish interior.

What you will want to enjoy with great sake from Fukui and Hokuriku is the "Honjitsu no Otsukuri 5-shu assortment (today's 5-kind sashimi assortment)," which brings together seasonal fish. The slices are thick cut and look satisfyingly hearty.

On this visit, there was something on the menu called “oden daikon radish Kara-age,” and I was curious, so I ordered it! It felt like the kind of dish that should have existed before but somehow hadn’t... and I was blown away by how good it was—I never expected it to taste this amazing!!! I bet it is going to be a hit from now on!!! I also had lots of other tasty dishes, including sashimi, a yakitori assortment, and a kushikatsu assortment!

Uotami Sabae Ekimae Ten is a izakaya (Japanese pub) in a great location about a 1-minute walk from Sabae Station, on the 1st floor of Hotel Alpha-One Sabae in Sabae City, Fukui Prefecture, where you can enjoy mainly Japanese food.
Inside, a refined Japanese-style space opens up, and it seems guests can relax with a spacious Private room feel. Reviews also say it is convenient and easy to use for casual visits.

They offer a wide range of Japanese dishes, including sashimi, kyodo ryori (regional cuisine), and sushi, with seafood dishes standing out in particular.
They also seem to put care into their drinks selection, including beer and highballs. They have plenty of non-alcoholic cocktails and soft drinks too, so even people who do not like alcohol are likely to be satisfied with Manzoku.

They offer a wide selection of sashimi dishes, including many from Kyushu. The "Aburi Shime Saba Sashi," made with mackerel from Nagasaki Prefecture, is one dish the buyer highly recommends.
Using a traditional method that brings out the mackerel's natural umami, each one is carefully prepared by hand. It is said to stand out for its natural taste and moist texture.

Since I was dining alone, double-dipping the sauce for the kushikatsu (deep-fried skewers) was fine. Then they lit the Hot Pot. It soon came to a bubbling boil. I turned the heat down so it would not boil over, and carefully started eating the vegetables. The tonkotsu (pork bone broth) soup was really good. The motsu (offal) was both meltingly soft and pleasantly chewy, and tasty too. I was also happy that ramen to finish came as part of the set. That was one of the reasons I chose the motsu nabe (offal hot pot).

Since it’s a chain, I had been to a few of its other restaurants before, but this place was fairly spacious inside, and even though there were three of us, we were shown to a roomy Semi-private room where we could relax. As expected, Private room and Semi-private room seating are great because you can talk at ease without worrying about the people around you! The food is simply good. The fish and carpaccio are tasty too.
