One of the main draws is the wide range of dishes you can enjoy here, from yakitori (grilled chicken skewers) and fresh sashimi to Omurice.
The creative skewer dishes are especially popular, and the vegetable wrapped skewers made with seasonal vegetables are also well liked. They use a variety of ingredients such as banno negi (all-purpose green onions) and avocado, so this is also a good pick for people who care about balanced nutrition.

Among the many yakitori menu items, one you will definitely want to order is "Kohaku no Kawa." It is a Hakata specialty called guru-kawa (spiral chicken skin), prepared over the course of 3 days.
This dish uses the tender meat from around the chicken's neck, and its crispy surface is said to be irresistible.
JNY2022
The interior had a stylish feel, and in a good way, it did not feel like a typical yakitori restaurant. The yakitori skewers were of course delicious, and the menu was also well stocked with dishes beyond skewers, plus the desserts were tasty too. The drink menu was extensive as well, making this a yakitori restaurant that all kinds of people can enjoy. There were many kinds of highballs, which made choosing one part of the fun!

With nama harumaki (fresh spring rolls) and rakkyo no shiozuke (salt-pickled shallots) as snacks, we had kushimono (skewers) like makimono (rolled skewers) and tsukune (chicken meatballs). The tsukune was great with both truffle and cheese! The beer and sparkling wine went down well too. We finished with garlic fried rice. It used jidori (free-range chicken) grilled over charcoal, and it was delicious.

Yakuin Station, Yakitori Yoshikawa is about a 3-minute walk from Yakuin Station and is known as a place where you can enjoy tasty yakitori (Japanese grilled chicken) grilled over bincho-zumi (high-grade white charcoal) by the head chef, who trained at a well-known restaurant.
The interior is bright and clean, with an atmosphere that makes it easy for anyone to visit. It also has Private rooms, so it is perfect when you want to relax and spend time with family or friends.

The yakitori uses Special jidori (local free-range chicken) mainly selected from Kyushu, and they carefully butcher whole chickens and skewer each one by hand.
The carefully grilled chicken is well liked for letting the natural flavor of the ingredients shine through. You can enjoy it together with wine chosen by a sommelier to pair well with the yakitori.
The lineup features skewers centered on many different chicken cuts, and "sasami (chicken tenderloin)" is one of the recommended menu items.
This cut can turn tough if overcooked, but the chefs adjust the grilling with great precision, and it is well known for its moist texture and great taste.
鮨くん
A popular yakitori restaurant in a quiet area near Yakuin Station. Every cut of the large, thick Hakata jidori (Hakata free-range chicken), carefully grilled, is delicious. The balance between the pleasant bite and the rich flavor of the meat is excellent. The hospitality throughout the restaurant is also top-notch, and each seat at the counter is spacious, making it a very comfortable place to spend time. They also have a wide selection of sake, wine, and other drinks, which makes it easy to enjoy an elegant time.

Authentic sumibiyaki yakitori (charcoal grilled chicken skewers) prepared by highly experienced chefs is popular here. The smoky aroma only charcoal can bring and the juicy meat are said to be irresistible.
For most of the yakitori, you can choose from several seasonings such as salt, miso, and negi ponzu (ponzu sauce with green onion), so it seems like a place you can enjoy again and again without getting bored.

The restaurant offers ramen with French influences, and it seems many people enjoy it To finish.
The photo shows their specialty, "Truffle Tonkotsu (pork bone) Ramen." The base is a soup that draws out rich flavor from pork bones and 9 kinds of seafood, and it is said to be a bowl filled with the aroma of premium mushrooms such as truffles and porcini.
はまもんもん
The ramen had an outstanding tonkotsu (pork bone) soup that was rich yet not too heavy, clinging well to the thin noodles for a great bowl. The chashu (braised pork) topping was also tender and so good it melted in the mouth. The yakitori (grilled chicken skewers) stood out for their nice smoky aroma, and the negima (chicken and scallion skewer) in particular was juicy and excellent.

I’d been dropping by from time to time for a while, but this was my first visit in a long time! The place is nice and clean, so it’s also great for business dinners◎The yakitori (grilled chicken skewers) is simply tasty, and the ramen to finish the meal is really good too. Today, I tried their most popular choice for the first time, the truffle porcini soup. So goodーー!

Hakata Torikawa-yaki Sumi is a restaurant with a wide selection of yakitori including its specialty torikawa-yaki (grilled chicken skin), as well as a variety of Fukuoka-style à la carte dishes.
It is a 10-minute walk from Yakuin Station and a 4-minute walk from Yakuin-odori Station, and the glass-walled interior is said to have a stylish atmosphere. There is also a Sunken kotatsu seating Private room.

One skewer dish you will definitely want to order when you visit is the "jukusei torikawa (aged chicken skin)." It is flavored with a soy sauce tare (sauce) that has been continuously added to since the restaurant first opened.
The nicely balanced bite and juicy flavor packed with umami are irresistible, and once you try it, it seems to become addictive.
Photograph:e_e-e_e
In addition to skewer dishes, they also offer a full lineup of a la carte dishes that pair well with drinks. There are plenty of menu items to enjoy while you wait for your yakitori.
This is a place where you can enjoy carefully made dishes such as goma-saba (mackerel with sesame), made with fresh mackerel served as sashimi, and daikon radish no Kara-age, where daikon radish soaked with dashi is crisp-fried.

The chicken skin was lightly crisp on the outside and juicy inside, and it felt like even people who do not usually like chicken skin could enjoy it. The pork belly, tsukune (seasoned chicken meatball skewers), and dashimaki tamago (Japanese rolled omelet) were all delicious, and the umeshu (plum wine) and shochu also came in glasses filled to the top, while the cassis orange came in a mug filled to the brim, so I think the value for money is really great!

The open kitchen gives you a full view of everything, and it is fun to watch skewer after skewer being grilled over the charcoal in a lively atmosphere. The chicken skin had a very tasty tare (sweet soy-based sauce) and a chewy texture. The sasami (chicken tenderloin) came with the restaurant’s own wasabi soy sauce. I also had goma kanpachi (amberjack with sesame sauce). Everything I ate was delicious, and the staff service was very good.

Sumi to Wine to Nihonshu Il Fait Soif lives up to its French name, which means “thirsty,” as a place where you can take your time enjoying yakitori (grilled chicken skewers) along with Special wine and Japanese sake.

One of the highlights here is enjoying yakitori (grilled chicken skewers) carefully grilled over white Binchotan (high-grade charcoal), paired with natural wines chosen by the owner and carefully selected Japanese sake.
For the yakitori, they use as much freshly processed morning chicken as possible, and it is said to be popular for its tender texture and fresh taste.
They also offer a full lineup of dishes beyond yakitori (grilled chicken skewers), along with carefully grown vegetables from their own garden.
If you are not sure what to order, the daily Appetizers assortment is a great choice. It comes with about six kinds of Appetizers, arranged to match the size of your group.
マンテツ0089
There are two yakitori (grilled chicken skewer) courses, and the style is the classic Kanto style, so there is no pork or vegetables. The Appetizers platter is a great value, every item is carefully prepared, and it all tastes great. They also have a selection of natural wines, with pairing available. You can always order three recommended reds and three whites by the glass, and the selection is excellent!

The yakitori was served at its best, with careful seasoning and grilling that brought out the quality of the ingredients. The Appetizers assortment was also exactly to my taste, and every item was delicious. The popular penne gratin also exceeded expectations and was very delicious.

Tsuchi o Kuu Yakitori Aoki is a popular restaurant where you can enjoy filling yakitori (grilled chicken skewers) made with rare branded chicken.

You can enjoy brand chickens unique to that time of year, such as the new Kisa Kiriji-dori (premium jidori chicken) brand that is not yet widely available, prepared in a sumibiyaki yakitori-style (charcoal-grilled skewers).
Kisa Kiriji-dori has the firm bite that is characteristic of jidori, and the more you chew, the more the rich flavor of the chicken comes out.

They also offer carefully prepared a la carte dishes with an extra touch, which you can enjoy together with the yakitori (grilled chicken skewers) menu in the course.
According to reviews, the lunch-only "yaki-onigiri (grilled rice ball) lunch" is also popular. It comes with several kinds of dishes, soup, and dessert, so even people looking for a filling meal are likely to be satisfied.

Even though it is in Daimyo (a district known for its youthful vibe), this small counter-only restaurant has a calm atmosphere. It is not a street-level shop, so it does not stand out, but when I visited, I found it to be a lovely place. Yakitori no Hachibei Tenjin Ten is a restaurant where you can enjoy a wide variety of skewers, with careful attention to seasoning and binchotan (high-grade white charcoal). The nearest station is Tenjin Station, though it is also within walking distance from Yakuin Station.

At this restaurant, not only standard chicken but also beef, pork, vegetables, and other ingredients are served as yakitori (grilled skewers), regardless of the type of ingredient.
The ingredients are boldly grilled over a large hearth, and the sweet tare (sauce) that has been added to continuously since the restaurant opened in 1983 is said to really whet the appetite.
Photograph:Julien
Among the "yakitori" menu, the basic item is butabara (pork belly). The charcoal aroma and the rich fat of the pork are said to be a perfect match.
It seems to be a must order dish when you visit, with a fragrant aroma and deep flavor. If you like skewers, the course that includes everything from Special skewers to popular skewers is also recommended.

The yakitori and kushiyaki (grilled skewers) are excellent, and the goma saba (sesame dressed mackerel) and the unlimited refill nama-kyabetsu (fresh cabbage) served as tsukedashi (small appetizer) are also tasty. They have Japanese sake from the local area and nearby Kyushu in assorted varieties available, and I could really feel how much Kyushu sake has evolved〜The aroma and flavor were both very good♪♪The wide round counter surrounding the kushiyaki kitchen and the atmosphere of the omoya-zukuri (traditional main house style) interior were also excellent.

Yakitori Otabisho is a yakitori restaurant where you can casually enjoy skewers made with carefully selected ingredients from Kyushu.
The bright, homey interior offers a range of seating, including counter seats, table seats, and a loft-style zashiki (tatami seating area), making it easy to use for many different occasions.
The yakitori (grilled chicken skewers) is cooked over binchotan (Japanese white charcoal), and because it is grilled after being sprinkled with Japanese sake, it stays moist and tasty even after it cools.
The chicken skewers use Hakata jidori (local chicken breed from Hakata). It is known for its tender yet springy texture and sweet fat.
They also offer a full lineup of skewer menu items other than chicken, including beef, vegetables, and seafood.
For the “pork belly,” they seem to use Hakata mochi-buta (Hakata glutinous pork), known for its rich flavor and full bodied meat quality. People say it is thick cut yet not heavy, and very tasty.
This yakitori restaurant has a calm, grown-up atmosphere, and the sounds of skewers grilling over the counter along with the savory aroma really whetted my appetite. Each skewer was grilled with great care, and the classic choices, especially momo (chicken thigh), tsukune (chicken meatball), and bonjiri (chicken tail), were juicy with excellent balance whether seasoned with tare sauce or salt. The seasonal vegetable skewers also brought out the natural sweetness of the ingredients, making them a great match for beer and shochu (Japanese distilled spirit).

By grilling them over powerful Tosa no binchotan (high-grade Japanese white charcoal from Tosa), they achieve an ideal level of doneness from the surface all the way to the center of the meat. The texture and flavor are said to be excellent, and you can enjoy yakitori with no off notes.

It feels like a very calm, refined izakaya (Japanese pub) for adults. We ordered a course, and instead of serving it on large shared plates, they brought each freshly made skewer one by one for each person. They offer a yakitori menu made with Domestic chicken and pork, and one of the appeals seems to be that it feels affordable without being too upscale.
The yakitori is carefully prepared skewer by skewer, and each cut can be enjoyed with either salt or tare sauce depending on the part. They also have a wide selection of maki-gushi (vegetable wrapped skewers) and vegetable skewers made with fresh locally grown vegetables.
At lunchtime, the house specialty is authentic Sanuki udon (Sanuki-style udon) hand-cut by skilled chefs. You can choose from several kinds of both hot and cold udon.
The soup features house-made noodles crafted with just flour, salt, and water, along with dashi made from iriko (dried sardines), kombu kelp, and katsuobushi (bonito flakes). There is also a wide variety of toppings, including beef and mentaiko (spicy cod roe).

The Kara-age had a crispy coating and juicy meat inside, and it went perfectly with lemon. The flavor was simple but never boring, and it was so good I kept reaching for more.

What I got was "kashiwa udon (udon with chicken)". The freshly boiled noodles, served in a firm diamond-like shape with clearly defined Kaku, had a chewy texture... with just the right balance of springiness and softness, and I enjoyed them together with the dashi broth carrying the flavor of bonito.

This restaurant serves sumibiyaki (charcoal grilled) yakitori (grilled chicken skewers). It has a calm atmosphere and feels like the kind of place you can slip into quietly. The drink selection is wide, so it is also a great spot for people who enjoy alcohol. The tsukune (chicken meatball skewer) was outstanding! The chicken soup served after the course also had a great aroma and really hit the spot! I especially recommend the liver pâté. When it comes to yakitori, this is my place!

For the yakitori, they use Hakata jidori (Hakata free-range chicken), known for its rich savory taste and depth, and each skewer showcases the fine traditional skills of the chefs.
The "Wagyu Hanging tender" made with high quality Domestic Wagyu is one of the signature skewers, enjoyed with either their secret sauce or salt.

In addition to casual skewer dishes, they also offer mentaiko (spicy cod roe) dishes that go well as snacks with drinks, as well as motsu Hot Pot menu items that will leave you nicely full.

The photo shows yakitori (grilled chicken skewers) served lined up over roughly chopped cabbage, and in Hakata-style, you cleanse your palate between skewers with the cabbage topped with sweet vinegar. The pork belly also has its extra fat rendered off over binchotan (high-grade charcoal), so it is crisp on the outside, juicy on the inside, and incredibly tasty. Personally, I now like the pork belly even more than the torikawa (chicken skin), which has become famous ❤

Carefully skewered, the wide variety of yakitori (grilled chicken skewers) and yakiton (grilled pork skewers) is popular.
The popular pork skewer “darumu (pork intestines)” is also a must-try when you visit. This dish intentionally brings out the distinctive flavor of pork offal, and it is said to pair perfectly with Japanese sake.

In addition to pork skewers, they also offer a wide variety of yakitori (grilled chicken skewers), including Heart, liver, and skin.
The photo shows bonjiri (tail meat), a rare cut taken from the base of the chicken’s tail, with only a small amount available from each bird. Its plump, springy texture is said to be addictively good.

The skewers, basashi (horse sashimi), and snacks were all really good. If only the tongue had been a little more tender, it would have been perfect. We had a great time♪It was a great meal.

You can enjoy the yakitori (grilled chicken skewers) in a range of styles, including A la carte, assortments, and courses.
In addition to chicken and pork, the menu also offers skewers made with Wagyu. The "Wagyu Skewer," made with top grade Wagyu Hanging tender, is said to be a dish where you can fully enjoy the meat's rich flavor and juicy texture.
Seafood dishes, including sashimi, are also popular, and there are many favorable reviews for the “Hanjuku Aji Fry (Half-Cooked Horse Mackerel Fry).”
Made with fresh aji (horse mackerel), this fried dish is said to have a crispy surface and flaky texture inside, and you can also enjoy changing up the flavor with house-made tartar sauce or lemon.

For yakitori (grilled chicken skewers), I ordered butabara (pork belly), liver, and cheese-wrapped skewers. The liver was rich and creamy, and very tasty. The pork belly had juicy fat that went great with drinks. The cheese-wrapped skewer paired a strong flavored cheese really well with bacon. The limited bird liver sashimi was tender, had no off notes, and comes highly recommended.

空間グルメオタク
[Sashimi, Aburi-seared, or Simmered. Every one is star quality] Even the otoshi (small appetizer) to start feels next level. You can tell a lot of care goes into it. The "Meibutsu Beef Tendon Stew" falls apart the moment it hits your mouth, and the flavor slowly spreads out. The seasoning is not too strong, and it is balanced just right to go well with drinks.

Sumiyaki Maruta is a popular place where you can enjoy yakitori (grilled chicken skewers) made with a strong focus on ingredient freshness, served by an owner who honed his skills at a famous restaurant in Fukuoka.
The interior is a polished and stylish space, and people say they can relax and take their time without feeling too formal. There are counter seats in a U-shaped layout as well as table seating.

You can enjoy yakitori (grilled chicken skewers) finished over charcoal with expert skill, along with wine and Japanese sake that pair perfectly.
They especially offer a wide selection of motsuyaki (grilled offal skewers) made with pork offal, and they reportedly source their pork directly from a specialized wholesaler. You can taste the unique texture and flavor that only fresh pork can offer.
Photograph:あり16449
They also offer a lineup of meat dishes that meat lovers will find hard to resist, including the "Beef Hanging tender Steak" served on a Teppan-yaki and the "Whole Grilled Chicken Thigh."
They also have a full selection of daily specials that match the season, so no matter how many times you visit, you can look forward to discovering something new.

With its full glass front, it almost looks like a wine bar. Goma kampachi (amberjack with sesame sauce), negi-maki (scallion rolls), and tebasaki (chicken wings). Everything was fresh, each piece was nice and large, and the seasoning was not too strong, so the drinks went down easy〜This is a yakitori spot I would like to add to my recommended list. It was a great meal.

Yakitori Kokeko, about a 5-minute walk from Yakuin Station, is a yakitori restaurant where you can enjoy grilled skewers made with Kyushu-sourced akadri (red chicken), mizutaki-gushi (chicken hotpot-style skewers), and local fish.
The restaurant is known for its homey atmosphere where anyone can relax, and it is equipped with both counter and table seating.
Photograph:ふゆけろ
The yakitori made with asa-jime (morning-slaughtered) Kyushu-raised red chicken is said to be large and so tasty it goes great with drinks. You will definitely want to enjoy it with the wide selection of Japanese sake.
They also offer skewers starring the fish of the day, as well as "mizutaki-gushi (skewers served with chicken-bone mizutaki broth)," enjoyed with a chicken-bone mizutaki soup.

Along with the yakitori (grilled chicken skewers), you should also order the sashimi (sliced raw fish), made with fresh fish sourced locally.
The Nagasaki herb saba (mackerel) sashimi is light and clean-tasting with no strong distinctive flavor, and the Arien Sashimori, which lets you enjoy about six kinds of fresh fish at once, also comes recommended.
風見鶏史郎
We ordered a sashimi assortment, a yakitori assortment, and added tsukune (chicken meatballs). The pieces were a solid size, and the shiso roll and tsukune in particular were so good that we ended up ordering more! They also had something called mizutaki-kushi (chicken hotpot skewers), and I thought the soup was excellent and a fun idea. The interior feels clean, while also giving off a somewhat retro atmosphere.

The su-motsu (vinegared offal) has a nice firm texture, and the seasoning pairs well with drinks. The yakitori (grilled chicken skewers) menu is extensive, and I was happy to see darumu (pork intestine) on it too. If I had to pick favorites, I could eat endless skewers of yagen nankotsu (chicken breast cartilage) and bonjiri (chicken tail) lol
