Nagasaki Prefecture [Sasebo / Hirado] Izakaya!

A top-class space that colors tonight, Yutaka

Koyoi Irodoru Gokujo Kukan Yutaka, about a 5-minute walk from Naka-Sasebo Station on the Matsuura Railway, is an izakaya known for its great seafood. The lineup of Japanese sake changes with the seasons, so you can enjoy Junmaishu that matches each time of year.

The interior has a chic and calm atmosphere, and it also has fully private rooms for groups of 2 or more.

There was also a review saying that the restaurant's recommended "ishidai (striped beakfish) ikezukuri (live sashimi preparation)" was fresh and delicious.

The sushi assortment, centered on white fish, is also popular, and some repeat customers say they always come for the sushi.

Many reviews say the otoshi (small appetizer) served as 5 items in cute little bowls is stylish and fun.

People also praise the beautiful tableware, and you can choose your favorite guinomi (small sake cup) for Japanese sake from a selection of colorful cups.

大阪のスパイス研究家

The location is excellent, right in the middle of the entertainment district. The food was beautiful, and I thought it was great value even with a Private room available. The drink menu was extensive, and I was happy to see not only local sake but wine as well. I would definitely love to visit again.

We had a Private room with table seating. It was stylish, the staff were pleasant, and it was a very nice place to relax and take our time. Since everyone in our group wanted to drink, we chose A la carte this time. The five otoshi (small appetizer dishes) served at the start were already luxurious and very good.

Monjaba

Monjaba is an izakaya with a wide range of Teppan-yaki dishes, including monjayaki (savory pan-fried batter), okonomiyaki (savory pancake), and steak. It is conveniently located just a 2-minute walk from Naka-Sasebo Station on the Matsuura Railway.

They offer various courses that come with 2 hours of All you can drink, and one of the draws is the wide variety of dishes that go well with alcohol, including meat and seafood.

The "okonomiyaki (savory Japanese pancake) Monja Ba Special" is said to be a thick okonomiyaki loaded with luxurious ingredients like shrimp, squid, and pork.

Cooked by steaming on a 220-degree Teppan-yaki griddle, the okonomiyaki is made with meringue, giving it a light and fluffy finish.

The "Thick Cut Spencer roll" (120g per person) was one of the dishes served in a course with All you can drink. Reviews say the service of grilling the meat right in front of you was a nice touch.

The Spencer roll is said to be tender meat, with increased amino acids from the restaurant's own aging method.

YZA39

An easygoing Teppan-yaki place❗️I wasn’t that hungry, so I slowly sipped my drink while snacking on their recommended monja (savory pan-fried batter). It was a great meal, and the service was stress-free, so I could really relax.

They cook the monjayaki (Japanese pan-fried batter) and meat right in front of you, so you can enjoy them piping hot, and the staff grills everything for you, which made the meal go really well with drinks. It is one of the places I would like to come back to.

Torikawa Hakata Kawakko Sasebo Ten

Torikawa Hakata Kawakko Sasebo Ten is an izakaya in Nagasaki where you can enjoy Hakata’s soul food, torikawa (chicken skin). The menu centers on skewers, with about 30 kinds of kushiyaki (grilled skewers), including chicken as well as pork and vegetable wrapped skewers.

The restaurant is spacious and relaxed, with counter and table seating as well as Private rooms.

The house specialties "shio-kawa (salted chicken neck skin)" and "tare-kawa (sauced chicken neck skin)" are skewers made by repeatedly pre-grilling low-fat chicken neck skin to concentrate its flavor.

People say the crispy texture of the shio-kawa is addictive. The tare-kawa is said to be tasty with its sweet and savory secret sauce. Reviews also said they are so good you never get tired of them no matter how many you eat.

A popular a la carte dish besides the skewers is jidori sasami (free-range chicken tenderloin) shigi-yaki (quick seared style). It is cooked just enough to bring out the chicken’s flavor, and the light taste is said to be excellent.

It comes with two kinds of yakumi (condiments): yuzu kosho and pounded plum paste.

TOMY00

The chicken skin skewer that came out was an irresistible dish, grilled over and over so the tare (sweet soy glaze) soaked in, giving it a crispy texture! I finished it in no time. The pork belly skewer that followed slowly released the rich flavor of the pork, and it was clearly of a different quality from the pork belly skewers you get in Kanto, making it an excellent skewer.

Source:TOMY00's review

a.e.m946

The chicken skin skewer came freshly grilled, nice and fragrant, with lots of flavor. The tomato skewer was a mini tomato wrapped in bacon, and the salt level was just right, so it was easy to eat. The staff responded right away and gave polite service, which made the whole experience pleasant.

You can enjoy it with plenty of finely chopped green onion, wasabi, and ginger as yakumi (condiments). You can also order Nagasaki specialty kujira sashi (whale sashimi) A la carte.

The "frog Kara-age" is popular for being unusual. It is said to taste close to chicken, with a mild flavor that is very good.

Reviews show that many people are very curious about trying frog for the first time, and you can tell they order it because they want to try something rare.

アランとエドガー

First, the sashimi appears. It looks beautiful! A lineup of fresh fish, and my favorite aji (horse mackerel) is there too lol. It goes well with white wine! The dressing on the Jaga Saku Sala salad is really good! I wonder if it's homemade? The eggplant was tender with a rich miso, and it went great with alcohol. It was my first time at this restaurant, but every dish I had was delicious, and it made for a Manzoku dinner.

カナリーex

To add 1 hour of all-you-can-drink, each person had to order 2 dishes, so we ordered a variety of items. What stood out in particular was the stir-fried seseri (chicken neck), which paired really well with the drinks. If you are ever unsure where to go for drinks at night in Sasebo (a city in Nagasaki), why not give this place a try?

The “shirasu and mentaiko (spicy pollock roe) cream pasta” is also said to have an excellent combination of ingredients.

海とウクレレ

A stylish and homey house restaurant in Matsuura, Nagasaki Prefecture. The impressive aji fry (fried horse mackerel) had a crisp coating and flaky flesh, and it was excellent! The selection of Japanese sake was also wonderful, and I was very Manzoku with the delicious food and drinks. I would definitely love to visit again when I go to Matsuura.

ぼのあり

The atmosphere of the restaurant was very stylish and calm, but it didn’t feel too quiet, so it was easy to talk ☺️The food also had so many appealing new menu items that it was hard to choose, and you’d have to come many times to try them all. The tamagoyaki (Japanese rolled omelet) was glowing. I believe that places with good tamagoyaki and dashimaki (Japanese rolled omelet with dashi) never miss!!

It is made by cooking thinly sliced beef to medium and serving it with a lemon flavored soy sauce.

The inside of the restaurant is very bright, and when you pass by the station, the happy hour sign really stands out! Unfortunately, I couldn't make it for happy hour because of work, but they had a wide selection of fish dishes and of course drinks, and everything was very good.

Buri (yellowtail) sashimi. Lightly pickled celery. Simply, a pickled vegetable assortment. Grilled beef Outside skirt. I had it with white hoppy. They keep pouring the refill for the shochu inside until you say stop.

長崎⭐️佐世保の民

I found this izakaya (Japanese pub) while looking for a place open late at night. It turns out they stay open until 4 a.m. Very appreciated. The All you can drink plan with beer is a budget-friendly JPY1,500 Tax Included. The food was also inexpensive, with even the pricier dishes costing around JPY500. On the other hand, the portions were about half size (lol) But that worked out well since I wanted to snack on a little bit at a time.

The sashimori (sashimi assortment) we had this time was truly a top-notch experience that made us say, “Just what you’d expect from Nagasaki.” Freshness is everything with sashimi, and the high quality came through clearly from the very first bite. Every piece of seafood in the assortment had firm flesh, and the pleasantly crisp texture was irresistible.

First, the osashimi assortment (assorted sashimi) (for 2 people). The moment it arrived, the volume was so impressive I couldn't help but exclaim! It was an indulgent plate with outstanding freshness. And then there was hatoshi (a Nagasaki specialty), a dish I had never heard of before. It seems to be made by sandwiching minced shrimp paste between slices of bread and deep-frying it, crisp on the outside and light on the inside, and very delicious.

Since I was in Nagasaki (a city in Japan), I went into a seafood restaurant. I started with a draft beer and the Omakase hamayaki (grilled seafood) loaded set. It felt like the kind of place that really makes you feel you have come to Nagasaki.

When I come to Pronto, I usually go for the A la carte All you can drink. And for the first dish, I always order the "Mori Bata Yakko." The combination of tofu, avocado, and tartar sauce is so good. Once the beer and tofu have taken the edge off my hunger, I order the classic Kara-age next. The savory spicy sauce goes really well with drinks.
