You can enjoy authentic charcoal grilled yakitori (grilled chicken skewers) and fresh seafood delivered from Mie Prefecture.
The classic here is the "yakitori" grilled over Kishu Binchotan (Kishu white charcoal). They slowly grill it with skilled technique to bring out the chicken's natural flavor. Among the options, the popular choice is the "jukusei momo (aged thigh)" made with Satsuma jidori (free-range chicken) and Tanba Aka-dori (Tanba red chicken).
Photograph:76sakuranbo
Reviews highly praise the katsu-nabe (pork cutlet Hot Pot). It is made with Domestic fresh pork loin marinated in shio-koji (salted rice malt) and served with simmered eggs.
The meat is surprisingly tender, and the light dashi broth gives the dish great flavor. It works well both as a snack with drinks and as something to enjoy with rice.

I thought the skewers might take a while since they’re grilled after you order, but they kept bringing them out one after another, so I got to eat them piping hot right off the grill◎The jidori (local chicken) and akadori (red chicken) had amazing firmness, and the more I chewed, the more chicken flavor came through! Above the Heart menu item it said the freshness was outstanding, and when I ordered it, it really was plump and springy! I ended up ordering more without even thinking. The negima (chicken and scallion skewer) was reliably tasty, so I ordered as many as 5 sticks.

On this day too, I started with yakitori (grilled chicken skewers). The aged thigh of Tanba Akadori (red chicken from Tanba) was gently infused with the aroma of charcoal, and the more you chewed, the better it tasted. Negima had that classic, reliable appeal, while seseri (neck meat) had an excellent balance of springy texture and fat. I reset my palate with shishito peppers, then finished strong with tsukune (chicken meatball skewer). Every skewer was properly good. They are serious about yakitori here.

"Koshitsu to Robata Izakaya Shungakoi Meieki Ekimae Ten" is a creative cuisine restaurant located a 2-minute walk from JR Nagoya Station. One of its main draws is that all seats are in Private rooms, so you can enjoy your meal in a private setting.
Each room has a spacious layout, making it a comfortable choice for families as well.
The standard menu item is kushiyaki (grilled skewers) made with fresh ingredients. They adjust the cooking for each cut and serve it at its best.
If you are not sure what to order, the "5-skewer kushiyaki assortment" is a good choice. It includes classics like "chicken thigh" and crunchy "gizzard," and they season each one with just the right amount of salt.

The restaurant’s top recommendation is aji fry (fried horse mackerel). People like the rare doneness and the crisp texture of the coating.
This dish has no fishy off notes, and you can taste the sweetness of the sea. The restaurant’s style is to squeeze lemon over it and enjoy it with a refreshing taste.
Non_Mint
The quality of the food was really high, and places like this often have so-so desserts, but this place kept the quality high all the way through dessert too. I ordered the Anno-imo (sweet potato) cheese brûlée, and it was incredibly rich and delicious!! It was kind of like ice cream, a little chilled with a slightly icy texture, and that made it even more irresistible.

They also have a wide selection of gyutan (beef tongue), one of the restaurant’s specialties. The meat was tender and the special sauce was tasty, but if you want to enjoy the flavor of the meat itself, simple salt is a good choice too. The oden (Japanese stew) was piping hot, nicely infused with flavor, and delicious♪ It would have been even better with miso...✨️ The carefully prepared yakitori (grilled chicken skewers) made with Ena-dori (chicken from Ena) is also recommended●

A hinai jidori (Akita native chicken) specialty restaurant directly connected to Nagoya Station on each line, located on the 4th floor of Midland Square. In addition to table and counter seating, it also has Semi-private rooms for small groups where you can relax.
One reason for its popularity is that you can order yakitori (grilled chicken skewers) and course meals starting from lunchtime.
Photograph:だいくん811
Charcoal grilled dishes made with rare Hinai jidori (Hinai chicken) are popular here, and the "Mune to Kawa no Dakimi," which wraps aged breast meat in chicken skin, is said to pair perfectly with the crisp grilled skin.
The "Negima" is skewered in the order of thigh, breast, and thigh, and is said to let you enjoy Hinai jidori directly.
Photograph:kouyou_jk
For lunchtime or To finish a night of drinks, the ultimate oyako-don (chicken and egg Rice bowl), the "Imai-don," comes highly recommended.
The rich Hinai jidori (premium chicken) eggs and meat are said to be soft and silky, and absolutely delicious.
The charcoal aroma from the meat pairs really well with the carefully made dashi broth.
Espren 505
The chicken pieces on the skewers were much bigger than I expected, making them very satisfying and well worth the price. The other dishes were also nicely seasoned, which I really liked. The restaurant had a great Japanese style atmosphere, and the staff were quick and attentive with drinks and orders.

I enjoyed the yakitori (grilled chicken skewers), including some unusual cuts. Some of the more unusual cuts were sold out, so there were a few I did not get to try, and I would like to come back and try again. They also had a wide selection of drinks, which I enjoyed. I went with my family, but it also seems like a good choice for business entertaining.

You can enjoy tasty yakitori (grilled chicken skewers) that has stayed the same since the restaurant first opened. They grill fresh asa-biki dori (freshly butchered chicken) over binchotan (high-grade white charcoal) until plump and juicy before serving it.
The classic "momo" and "tori harami" are available with salt or tare sauce, while the rare cut "shitagokoro" is served with tare sansho pepper.
Photograph:szk110203
The motsu-nabe (offal Hot Pot) made with original seasonings produced in Hakata is also well received. The carefully prepped Domestic motsu can be enjoyed in 5 kinds of Hot Pot.
The photo shows the “mentaiko (spicy cod roe) motsu-nabe.” Plenty of mentaiko adds a nice accent to the soup, which is full of umami, making this a recommended dish for Banquets and other group meals.

This izakaya is a great pick when you want both motsu-nabe (offal Hot Pot) and yakitori (grilled chicken skewers)!! It is also nice that all the zashiki (tatami seating) seats are Sunken kotatsu seating. It was good, and when you are in the mood for both motsu-nabe and yakitori! this is a recommended spot.

Robata Kashiwaya Jihei Meieki is an izakaya (Japanese-style pub) about a 3-minute walk from Exit 3 of JR Nagoya Station, with a lively atmosphere centered around a large irori (sunken hearth) in the middle of the restaurant.
It has open table seating and counter seating, as well as fully private rooms with a kominka-style (traditional old house style) interior.
You can enjoy robata-style charcoal grilled yakitori finished over an irori (sunken hearth).
Popular items include "salmon belly," "iwashi (sardine)," and "extra large shrimp," cooked with a traditional method known as "genshi-yaki (primitive grilling)." The skin turns crisp while the flesh stays tender and juicy, they say.
Photograph:令和の福沢諭吉
Yakitori, with rare cuts that even serious food lovers rave about, is also a standard choice for drinking parties.
The top recommendation is “torimotsu.” This cut connects the Heart and liver, and its appeal is that you can enjoy the flavor of both. They also offer about 8 other rare cuts.
ハイボール姫
A friend threw me a birthday drinking party, and we went to Robata Kashiwaya Jihee in Meieki. Just being taken there for a celebration already had me in the best mood♡ Chicken dishes are the focus here, and one nice point is that you can enjoy a range of rare cuts. They even had parts you do not usually get to eat, and everything paired really well with drinks.

The "genshi-yaki (primitive style charcoal grilling)" grilled boldly over a giant irori (sunken hearth) features one great item after another, including fatty ootoro iwashi (extra-rich sardine), gindara (black cod), and extra-large shrimp. The skin turns crisp while the inside stays tender, and the toasty aroma of the charcoal whets the appetite. A squeeze of lemon brings out the rich flavor of the fat and lets the smoky aroma spread.

In addition to standard cuts like "dakimi (tender inner breast)" and "momo (thigh)," the lineup also includes rare cuts like "soriresu (oyster cut)" and "furisode (shoulder meat)." Creative skewers such as "half-boiled quail egg with anchovy" and "herb grilled lamb" are also popular.

They also offer a carefully chosen selection of wine and Japanese sake, and the drinks are said to go down well with the creative skewers.
They have a wide range of wines, including red, white, and sparkling, and some reviews said they enjoyed the pairing of Japanese wine and Nagoya Cochin (Nagoya chicken).
CharlieBerg
Each dish showed real care, and I enjoyed them all. The chicken, grilled over what seemed to be authentic binchotan (high-grade white charcoal), would probably be happy too. The portions are by no means large, but the careful prep work stood out all the more. Since I have a little experience with prep work myself, thinking about the time that goes into that advance preparation made me feel I was given something truly valuable.

The Nagoya Cochin (Nagoya chicken) was carefully grilled over charcoal and made for some of the best yakitori I’ve had. The yakitori was great of course, but having the house made tofu with salt felt like a whole new experience. The shiitake mushrooms we ordered were also very tasty. They also had a wide selection of wine, and the pairing of Japanese wine and Nagoya Cochin was just so good.

Every skewer of yakitori (grilled chicken skewers) at this yakitori restaurant had such perfect grilling that I was impressed. The shio negima in particular brought out the natural flavor of the ingredients, and each bite filled my mouth with juicy meat juices. The tare (sweet soy glaze) had a refined sweetness that paired well with every skewer. The atmosphere of the restaurant was calm, and the staff were polite, so I had a very pleasant time.

The restaurant mainly serves sumibiyaki yakitori (charcoal grilled chicken skewers), and you can also enjoy Okinawa cuisine. The yakitori, carefully grilled by the chef, ranges from classic skewers to more creative options.
The restaurant's style for the “momo” skewer is to grill it with salt and then add yuzukosho (yuzu pepper paste).

To finish a night of drinks, the special Okinawa Soki Soba is recommended.
This bowl is said to have a slightly richer soup than the authentic version, and it really hits the spot. You can also change up the flavor with a spicy seasoning called koregusu (Okinawan chili awamori condiment).

This is an izakaya centered on yakitori (grilled chicken skewers), and one of its charms is that you can also enjoy Okinawa ryori (Okinawan cuisine). The kushiyaki (grilled skewers) are excellent, especially the oyamomo (chicken thigh) with yuzu kosho (yuzu pepper paste), whose spicy aroma adds a nice accent. Because they grill it over Kishu Binchotan (Kishu white charcoal), the flavor is excellent. They are also particular about the salt seasoning, using mild moshio (seaweed salt) with the flavor of kombu kelp.

The oden (Japanese hot pot items simmered in broth) is soaked through with dashi and so good〜‼️It tastes great with miso, and it tastes great with karashi (Japanese mustard) too, so you can eat as much as you want just the way you like it‼️Isn’t that amazing? I ended up getting refills again and again✌️I was also curious about the yakitori (grilled chicken skewers), so I ordered some. All you can eat oden (Japanese one-pot dish) is the main event no matter what! The moment you walk in, it grabs all your attention. Surprisingly a hidden gem?

Yakitori Kinzan Meieki Shinkansenguchi Ten is a yakitori restaurant in a great location, about a 1-minute walk from the Taiko-dori Exit of Nagoya Station on (Each) line. The concept is a refined, Japanese-modern space with a crisp, grown-up feel.
In addition to counter and table seating, it also has Semi-private room seating.
At this restaurant, you can enjoy yakitori (grilled chicken skewers) made with fresh Nagoya Cochin (Nagoya breed chicken) slaughtered that morning and grilled over binchotan (high-grade white charcoal).
It is known for its firm springy texture and rich flavor, and grilling brings out an even more fragrant aroma. They also recommend comparing different cuts like thigh, breast, and furisode (shoulder meat).

Their takkanmari Hot Pot, which is said to be just as good as the real thing in Korea, is also popular.
This medicinal Hot Pot is packed with collagen and made by slowly simmering a whole chicken that has been carefully prepared. Reviews also said the chicken flavor really comes through and that you can really feel the richness of the collagen.

Kinzan is popular, but I had no idea there was one by the Shinkansen-guchi (Shinkansen Exit) too. Since it’s on the 9th floor of the building, a lot of people may come with reservations. The chic interior has a calm, relaxing feel. The potato salad topped with mustard, liver, and cream cheese marinated in miso were all delicious. You can take your time with a drink, enjoy good food, and it’s close to the station, so I think it’s a great spot.

I visited on a business trip to Nagoya with a reservation made for me. This place is very close to Nagoya Station, so you can enjoy it right up until the last minute before your shinkansen (bullet train) departs. The still fairly new interior is spacious with a chic and calm atmosphere, and you can enjoy cold beer and tasty yakitori (grilled chicken skewers) carefully cooked over the fire. They also offer a wide selection of vegetable skewers and a la carte dishes.

You can enjoy carefully prepared yakitori (grilled chicken skewers) cooked over premium Domestic binchotan (white charcoal).
The restaurant brings in fresh chicken processed that morning, and its carefully grilled yakitori can be ordered one skewer at a time. They also make their own salt from dashi stock, and it is said to go perfectly with the rich fat of the chicken.

The vegetable skewers and nikumaki (meat-wrapped skewers) are popular for their light, healthy taste.
The photo shows the “nikumaki lettuce.” It is said to have a healthy taste, with the rich moisture of the pork belly fat while still keeping the crisp texture of the lettuce.

A hideaway-like spot set a little away from Meieki (Nagoya Station area)'s famously lively drinking district. When I walked in, the staff welcomed me cheerfully. The interior has good depth, with plenty of table seating, and a comfortable atmosphere.

The “nikumaki piiman (green pepper wrapped in meat)” had a nice crisp bite from the pepper, and the meat was juicy. Isn’t a meat-wrapped skewer pretty rare? They also have lots of other meat-wrapped skewers, and I still want to try more. The “sasami (chicken tenderloin)” came with wasabi, and the cooking was spot on here too. There’s no way the chewy sasami and wasabi wouldn’t go well together! It was way too good!!

"Sohonke Bincho Ogiya Nagoya Honten" is an authentic sumibiyaki (charcoal-grilled) yakitori specialty restaurant, about a 5-minute walk from the Sakura-dori Exit of JR Nagoya Station.

The carefully made yakitori (grilled chicken skewers), grilled by a certified yakishi (grill master), is excellent.
The "Amani no Megumi Dori Momo" served in limited quantities each day. It has a moist texture and rich flavor, and they recommend enjoying it simply with salt.

Nagoya-meshi (Nagoya specialties) includes items such as tebasaki (chicken wings) "Bariteba" and kushikatsu (deep-fried skewers).
The top recommendation is "dote-ni (beef tendon stew)." The beef tendon, simmered until tender in a red miso-based broth, is well liked.
Its rich flavor pairs well with Japanese sake and rice.

I made a reservation before visiting, and the seats were almost all full. We ordered from the touch panel. We ordered bariteba, yakitori (grilled chicken skewers), yukhoe (Korean-style raw beef), macaroni salad, sausages, chuhai (shochu highball), Beef Tongue, and more. Everything was very delicious. If I have a chance to go to Nagoya again, I would like to visit again.

The Most Popular option is the All you can eat course of Nagoya oden (Nagoya-style oden) with charcoal grilled yakitori (grilled chicken skewers) and 3 hours of All you can drink.
This hearty course includes All you can eat Nagoya oden and Kara-age. Reviews also said it was nice to be able to relax and enjoy it for a full 3 hours.

It was a night during a business trip to Nagoya. I stopped by with some company members. Looking for a place near Nagoya Station, I found Kushiemon and made a reservation. You can even book On-the-Day! The interior has a slightly unusual feel. It does not have the typical izakaya vibe. After hearing the explanation of the All you can eat rules, we started ordering. For an All you can eat option, the yakitori (grilled chicken skewers) was quite good. I also liked the niratama (garlic chive and egg stir-fry), which had a stronger seasoning.

The yakitori (grilled chicken skewers) comes in a wide variety, and each one was slowly grilled over charcoal, bringing out a great smoky aroma and juicy texture. The negima (chicken and scallion skewer) and shishito (mild green pepper) skewers were especially memorable, and I could really taste how fresh the ingredients were. The light salt seasoning brought out the natural flavor of the ingredients, making them so tasty I wanted to keep eating more.

The beloved "torikawa-kushi (chicken skin skewers)" that has long been loved in Fukuoka are popular. Their specialty "Nadai Torikawa" is made by hand-wrapping the skin around each skewer one by one, then grilling it with a secret sauce over about 6 days.
This yakitori is said to have an addictive texture, crispy on the outside and chewy on the inside.

The "meibutsu shigi-yaki (house specialty grilled chicken tenderloin)" that pairs well with alcohol is also popular. This dish features grilled chicken tenderloin topped with a wasabi soy sauce.
It has a spicy kick and a grown-up flavor, and it also goes well with highballs and lemon sours.

I visited on a weekday evening. The restaurant was crowded, but I was lucky enough to get in without a reservation. I enjoyed the meal while drinking draft beer and highballs. I especially liked the chicken skin and sumotsu (vinegared offal). It was a great meal.

The kawasaki (grilled chicken skin) was exactly the same as what you get in Hakata. The skin was nice and crisp while still juicy, and it was really good️. The pork belly was also very filling. As for goma saba (mackerel with sesame sauce), it might be better to eat that in Hakata. Overall, I really got to enjoy Hakata here.

Hakata Kawaya is famous for its kawa-kushi (chicken skin skewers) in Hakata. I had no idea there was one in Nagoya, and I just happened to find it while walking around and went in. The kawa-kushi here is marinated for 3 days, and the skewers they served were super crispy! I really want you to try them. All the other skewers were tasty too, so it lives up to its reputation.

You can enjoy sumibiyaki (charcoal grilling) that uses far infrared heat to lock in the meat juices and flavor.
Simple yet a favorite with many repeat customers, the “Gari Buta” is a refreshing skewer of gari (pickled ginger) wrapped in pork, with a taste that makes you want to keep eating one after another.
Photograph:さちゃむ
The piping hot nikujiru gyoza (juicy dumplings) bursting with meat juices are also a popular dish to go with drinks.
Besides yaki gyoza (pan-fried dumplings), they also offer soup gyoza and Taiwan gyoza, which is a nice touch since you can choose based on your mood that day. They also come in 4-piece portions, so it’s nice to share different kinds.
Charcoal grilling uses the far infrared heat of charcoal to make the outside crisp and the inside light and tender, so you can enjoy juicy meat with all the juices and flavor locked in. The nikujiru gyoza (juicy soup dumplings) were piping hot and full of rich juices, and they were delicious. I would love to visit again if I have the chance. Thank you very much!

Katariya-san was a very good place. Right by Meieki (Nagoya Station area), this level of value is hard to find. Clean. It really feels private. The restroom is clean too. Drinks come quickly! The staff are very kind except during their busiest hours. Above all, the gyoza (dumplings) and yakitori (grilled chicken skewers) were so good I kept ordering more. And the roast beef yukhoe was unbelievably good for a place like this!

You can enjoy carefully prepared chicken dishes made with a variety of cooking methods.
The top recommendation is the "momo-kushi (chicken thigh skewer)," made with Seiryu Wakadori (young chicken). It is double the usual size, and you can choose from two seasonings: their secret jiggly sauce or special salt made with kombu kelp dashi.
Photograph:兼近まみ
The "Momo Ippon Yaki (whole grilled chicken leg) - Tokusei Tamanegi Shio Dare (special onion salt sauce) -" is also popular, with its homemade sauce as the key.
This is a hearty, satisfying dish you can enjoy in a bold style. It goes especially well with beer, highballs, and Japanese sake.

I was Surprising by how many seats there were, but even though the place was packed, the food came out really fast, which was great✨️I was also surprised by the size of the tsukune (chicken meatballs)! And then there was the piiman cheese maki (green pepper and cheese roll) (or at least I think that was the name), which seemed unusual, so I thought, why not order it! It had a strong kick of salt and pepper, the cheese was nice and melty, and it was delicious.

うさこちゃんですよ
Just as the name suggests, this place offers a wide variety of chicken dishes. With chicken options like yakitori (grilled chicken skewers) and tataki (lightly seared meat), you probably do not need to worry too much about calories. The yakitori is said to be grilled over charcoal. The level of doneness is just right. The tare (sweet soy based sauce) is also nicely balanced and does not overpower the dish. The pieces are slightly large, so the meal feels quite satisfying. The tsukune (chicken meatball skewer) was tasty too.
