Gyosai Sakagura Daigaku Akashi Ten is about a 2-minute walk from Akashi Station, making it easy to get to from the station. This restaurant serves fresh seafood caught in the Akashi Kaikyo (Akashi Strait), prepared and served the very same day.
Inside, the restaurant has a warm Japanese modern feel, with seating that works well for many occasions, including counter seats, table seats, Sunken kotatsu seating, and tatami Private rooms.

The branded madako (octopus), Akashi-dako (Akashi octopus), is a local specialty also known as the “jewel of Akashi.” Its flesh is firm, and it is known for having thick, short legs.
The takobutsu (chunked octopus) in the photo is said to have an irresistibly springy bite.

Menu items made with Akashi-dai (Akashi Sea Bream), another local specialty alongside "Akashi-dako (Akashi octopus)," are also popular. The tai-meshi (Sea Bream rice), in particular, is said to be so good, with the delicious broth of the Sea Bream really coming through, that you will want another serving.
They also have a good selection of drinks, including sparkling Japanese sake with a clean taste that goes down easily and rare labels.

First, we toasted with beer. The tsukidashi (small appetizer) had a gentle flavor with just the right amount of salt. We ordered another beer, then kanburi (winter yellowtail) sashimi and agedashi eggplant topped with tororo (grated yam). We also had a highball, Imo Shochu, grilled Sea Bream head with salt, and simmered anago (conger eel). Both the ingredients and the seasoning were high quality. Everyone was happy with the taste. When the food is good, the drinks, chopsticks, and conversation all keep moving. With a pleasant buzz, everyone was in a great mood.

When we entered the restaurant, we were shown to the second floor, and before long it looked completely full, so it seemed to be a popular spot. We ordered from the à la carte menu, mainly seafood dishes, and every dish was very good. In a Kansai-like touch, they had hamo (pike conger) yubiki (briefly parboiled) and tempura. The most memorable dish was the tai (Sea Bream) rice, where you could really taste the rich flavor of the Sea Bream.

The sashimi menu is popular here, offering fresh seafood from Akashi (a coastal city in Hyogo). The "Ee Toko Otsukuri assortment" lets you enjoy a variety of seafood, and you can order it from 2 servings.
The daily menu item "Honjitsu no Beppin-san" is said to offer a wide range of dishes made with seasonal ingredients.

If you want to enjoy plenty of meat and vegetables along with seafood, a course menu is recommended. Some courses can be upgraded for an extra charge, and some let you customize the contents freely.
Many reviews said there was nothing to complain about in terms of both taste and portion size.

The fried oysters with ankake (starchy sauce) had a gently sweet flavor, with that kind of sauce you only really find in Japanese food. Tartar sauce is nice too, but I liked the ankake better. For the ozukuri (sashimi platter), they served ashi-naga ebi (long-legged shrimp). Even the hot Japanese sake came in a cute hippari dako (octopus-shaped vessel), and paired with the squid ink, it made for an adorable picture. Haha. This is the kind of place that makes you want to come back every time a new dish appears, and they also have a wide selection of Japanese sake

When I opened the hideaway-like door and stepped inside, they showed me to a Private room. The course menu was handwritten and had a warm feel. The meal featured 12 dishes made with seasonal ingredients, and everything was so good that I couldn't even rank which dish was the best. I would like to visit again.

At this restaurant, you can enjoy hamayaki (grilled seafood cooked at your table) that you grill yourself, along with creative dishes made with seafood. The oysters are said to be especially outstanding, with a rich Fresh Scent of the Ocean and a milky taste.

The photo shows their classic Teppan-yaki Akashiyaki (Akashi-style octopus dumplings). Unlike the usual takoyaki-style shape, it is served in a Teppan-yaki style.
The fluffy omelet texture and the umami-rich dashi broth make a great Combo, they say.

It is in a good location, close to the station. We got in at just the right time, so lucky✌️We ordered the hamayaki assortment, hamaguri (hard clam), mentaiko dashimaki omelet, oyster oden, and octopus carpaccio. The assortment came with 2 of Each (shrimp, oyster, shishamo (smelt), and hotate (scallop)), and none of them were small, so we felt Manzoku after eating❗️The staff were also attentive, and the food was delicious, so it was a really nice place♪

We had octopus carpaccio, hamaguri (hard clam) hama-yaki (grilled on the beach style), 2F potato salad, mentaiko (spicy cod roe) Teppan-yaki Akashiyaki, monkfish Kara-age, and croquette oden. The octopus carpaccio had a nice springy texture. The hama-yaki was fun too, and the croquette oden was crispy on the outside and creamy inside, much better than expected.

The "Sea Bream rice cooked in a Clay Pot" is packed with the rich flavor of seafood. The rice dishes are said to be a must-have to finish off your meal after drinks.
The "takomeshi (octopus rice)" and "mushi anago no hakozushi (boxed sushi with steamed conger eel)" are also available for Takeout.

One is their signature tako (octopus). It has a nice springy bite yet stays tender, and the more you chew, the more sweetness comes out, making it the very peak of Akashimae (Akashi-style). Its fresh, almost translucent look and rich flavor were truly impressive. And the other is anago-zushi (conger eel sushi). The anago is simmered until plump and tender, then coated in a special sweet-savory sauce that melts in your mouth.

An excellent restaurant with refined flavors. Since it specializes in anago (conger eel), tako (octopus), and Sea Bream, the overall quality is very high. I personally thought the simmered liver and ochazuke (rice with tea or broth) were outstanding. I think this is a famous place you will want to come back to again and again.

The ibushi-yaki (smoke grilled dish) here is incredibly popular, boldly grilled over quietly glowing charcoal ✨ The chicken skin is outstanding too, and of course we also ordered the bone-in chicken while enjoying the aroma of the charcoal ✨ They also have a wide variety of à la carte dishes, and on weekends the place is lively with families and groups. Other than the counter, the seating is all zashiki (tatami floor seating), so it is easy to use even with children.

I took a seat at the counter and started with a draft beer. The otoshi (small appetizer) was a prosciutto salad. It paired perfectly with the drinks right from the start. Then came the 5-skewer yakitori assortment. This was real yakitori, with five different cuts grilled over charcoal. I quickly switched to red wine and added an avocado and small shrimp salad. Avocado and red wine were a great match.

The appetizer of smoked aigamo (duck) and smoked beef had a flavor like soft jerky, and it was delicious and perfect as a snack with drinks. The yakitori (grilled chicken skewers) had a soy sauce forward taste that went great with beer. The kaibashira (scallops) and shrimp with basil sauce were tasty, today’s hit dish! The Japanese style omelet felt like a fluffy dashimaki (Japanese rolled omelet), with a comforting and delicious flavor.

Kushikatsu Kamitaka, located on the 1st floor of Papios Akashi about a 2-minute walk from Akashi Station, is a long-established restaurant with more than 40 years of history since opening.
It has a wide selection of alcoholic drinks, so it also works well as an izakaya (Japanese pub). It stays open continuously from 11:30 a.m. through the evening, so daytime drinking is also an option, according to reviews.

Kushikatsu (deep-fried skewers) made with vegetables, meat, and seafood fried to a crisp is the restaurant's signature dish. The light batter has a crunchy texture, and it goes perfectly with beer.
Another nice point is that you can season it to your liking with the sauce at the table.

The lineup of izakaya dishes is also extensive, including yakitori (grilled chicken skewers), Kara-age, and sashimi (raw sliced fish). The yakitori in particular can also be enjoyed with different flavors by adding ichimi togarashi (ground red chili pepper) or sansho (Japanese pepper).
The drink menu features the standard staples, centered on Akashi local sake "Kamitaka."

The yakitori served at this restaurant uses freshly slaughtered Awaji-dori (Awaji chicken) and Daisendori, and they carefully grill it over high heat binchotan (white charcoal).
For seasoning, they use several kinds of salt, including salt from Aguni-jima (Aguni Island) in Okinawa, which gives it a very deep flavor.

The menu makes generous use of Special ingredients, including carefully selected Domestic items and produce from Hyogo Prefecture.
There is a wide range of popular menu items for all ages, such as "Awaji-dori (Awaji chicken) Kara-age" and "beef tendon and Awaji tamanegi (Awaji onion) curry."
They also offer many classic izakaya dishes such as "edamame (green soybeans)" and "potato salad," which come out quickly and are perfect to enjoy with a toast before the other dishes are served.

The yakitori (grilled chicken skewers) may be small, but each skewer is juicy and packed with flavor. The chicken skin, on the other hand, is nicely grilled and really good. They butcher fresh whole chickens (eviscerated) processed that morning in house. Using binchotan (high-grade charcoal), they grill them quickly so the flavor and moisture stay locked in, resulting in a juicy finish.
Many reviews say the meat has just the right springy texture and rich concentrated flavor, making it exceptionally good.

Dishes made with carefully selected ingredients such as Kuroge Wagyu (Japanese Black Wagyu) and seafood from the Setouchi (Seto Inland Sea) region are also popular. The "Sea Bream kamameshi (rice cooked in an iron pot)" in the photo is said to be filled with rich savory aroma the moment you lift the lid.
They also offer a wide range of course menus where you can try a little bit of everything the restaurant serves.

All you can drink plus everyone ordered various items... The “Special name-miso (licking miso) 5-kind assortment vegetable set” came with several kinds of miso and was quite tasty. The beef ochazuke (tea over rice) to finish the meal (exact name unknown) also had a rich beef flavor and was very good...

The miso-marinated cream cheese was so good. At this place, which is known for its miso and cheese, the two made a perfect match. The seafood was of course also delicious. With the sea so close by, they served salmon, hamachi (young yellowtail), and Sea Bream as carpaccio, and it was amazing how the texture changed in your mouth from springy to melt-in-your-mouth.

TORIYA is a restaurant where you can enjoy chicken dishes such as yakitori (grilled chicken skewers) made with fresh asabiki-dori (chicken processed the same morning), along with drinks.
It is about a 3-minute walk from Akashi Station, and the interior has a chic color scheme. The atmosphere is said to make it easy to stop by, whether you are dining with friends or family or coming on your own.

You can order the restaurant’s yakitori (grilled chicken skewers) and kushiyaki (grilled skewers) from 2 skewers. For yakitori, you can also choose rare cuts such as engawa and Horumon.
A popular menu item is the "minchi," which they grill from raw. It has a crispy texture on the outside and is said to go perfectly with drinks.

The menu also has a full range of fried dishes, a classic kind of otsumami (snacks to go with drinks).
The “tori no Kara-age” is good just as it is, and they also recommend changing up the flavor with a mildly spicy sweet chili sauce.

If you are going with 2 people, the table seats at the back near the counter are recommended. The table seats right by the entrance are also good for larger group celebration parties or birthday parties. The skewers are small and easy to eat, which makes it nice that you can enjoy many different kinds. I really liked the vegetables such as zucchini, which brought out the vegetables’ natural flavor.

The yakitori was also in easy-to-eat sizes. I didn’t manage to take photos of everything, but the otoshi (small appetizer) of pickled Chinese cabbage was quite tasty!

Akashi Kaisen Izakaya Kaisho Akashi Ekimae Ten is an izakaya located about a 3-minute walk from Akashi Station on the various lines. The spacious and open interior also has Private room seating with Sunken kotatsu seating.
You can enjoy very fresh seafood delivered straight from the market.

The dishes made with plenty of seasonal seafood are said to pair perfectly with alcohol. The "otsukuri assortment (assorted sashimi)" in the photo comes in three options: 3 kinds, 5 kinds, or 7 kinds.
The plating is beautiful, and the presentation is pleasing to the eye as well.

The casual snack style menu is also popular. They keep about 60 drinks on hand that pair well with the food.
There was also a review saying that the local specialty tamagoyaki (Akashiyaki) lets you enjoy two flavors: dashi broth and sauce.

Just as the name suggests, seafood is the main focus here. We started by ordering a sashimi assortment, and every piece was fresh and cut thick. The tai (sea bream) and salmon in particular were rich and fatty, with a melt-in-your-mouth kind of goodness the moment they hit your tongue. Akashi is known for its seafood, and one nice point is that you can really enjoy the local fresh catch here.

I think the speedy service and the quality of the food are both excellent. It is also easy to use for Banquets in a Private room, and they can accommodate large groups, so I think I will keep coming back! The freshness of the seafood and the presentation are great too! The Chicken sashimi (served raw) and the extra large fried oysters are dishes I absolutely love, and I really hope you will try them.

Gyoza Shokudo Maruken JR Okubo Eki is about a 2-minute walk from the north exit of JR Okubo Station, and is part of a chain with locations mainly in the Kansai and Chugoku (western Honshu) regions.
You can enjoy the restaurant’s signature Maruken Yaki Gyoza (pan-fried dumplings) along with drinks that pair well with gyoza.
Photograph:ram.koiz
The house-made "Maruken Yaki Gyoza (pan-fried dumplings)" is made without garlic. Its thin wrapper pairs perfectly with the juicy filling, lightly flavored with ginger.
With plenty of variety, including "Yatai Gyoza (street-stall dumplings)" and "Cheese Bari Gyoza," it would be fun to compare and try different kinds.

The refillable sours and the “Sharikin Lemon Sour” topped with shaved ice are said to pair perfectly with the Chinese food.
There were also many reviews saying the course menu is very filling and offers great value for money.
拉麺番長きむやん
The "Yatai Gyoza (street stall dumplings)" are also pan-fried right to the limit. The crispiness is outstanding, and after that crackly bite, the rich flavor of the filling comes rushing in. They are superb dumplings. And then the "Tsukune Mayo (chicken meatballs with mayo)," which has hooked us every time it has shown up on the menu lately, arrived. The tsukune has a firm, meaty texture, while the outside has a light crispness

I heard that course meals can be reserved On-the-Day, so I ordered the Tokutoku Course for JPY1650‼️With 10 dishes, this price is a great deal. I added the same-priced All you can drink option (with beer). The food came out one after another at a good pace, and I was Manzoku to enjoy a little bit of many different dishes‼️There was also a pretty good selection of drinks, and I ended up drinking too much.
