Motenashiya Sho Nishi-Nippori Ten is an izakaya near Nishi-Nippori Station, the next stop after Nippori Station, and it focuses on soba and Beef Tongue dishes.
It is located on the second floor up a staircase from an entrance that feels like an old kominka (traditional Japanese house), and the inside also has the calm atmosphere of a kominka. There are also tatami-matted Private rooms where guests take off their shoes.

One of the specialties is soba, and you can enjoy their “juwari soba (100% buckwheat soba)” made with 100% buckwheat flour. Many people also enjoy it as a finishing meal after drinking alcohol.
The mentsuyu (dipping sauce for noodles) served with the soba uses five kinds of dashi (soup stock) and soy sauce, and is well liked for its light flavor that makes the noodles easy to enjoy.
Photograph:光多♪
They stock about 10 kinds of Japanese sake that pair well with the food menu. It is served by the ichigo (180cc serving), poured from an isshobin (1.8L bottle) into a cup.
“Sobayu-wari,” shochu with shochu mixed with the water used to boil soba noodles, is a way of drinking you only find at a soba restaurant.
はるぺぺ
The interior has a calm, grown-up feel, with hardly any young crowds in sight, giving it the air of a true hidden gem. To put it simply, the level of Manzoku was very high. Not a single dish missed the mark, and the selection of Japanese sake to match the food was excellent. This is exactly the kind of place that deserves to be called a hidden gem.

カレーなるビール道
The final 100% soba was simple yet a fitting dish to end the meal. The a la carte Beef Tongue grilled on a hot stone had concentrated meat flavor, was also tender, and tasted great. The tender Beef Tongue with ponzu sauce had a light ponzu flavor that brought out the tongue's sweetness, and I could not stop eating it.

Nippori Kushimaru is an izakaya located about a 2-minute walk from Nippori Station North Exit along Route Nippori, and it is known for its kushikatsu (deep-fried skewers) made by skewering ingredients and frying them, as well as pizza.
It can be used for a wide range of occasions, with counter seats and high-table seats where you can casually stop by for a drink, as well as table seating where groups can relax.
Photograph:リュウライター
The restaurant offers about 30 kinds of kushikatsu (deep-fried skewers), made by skewering ingredients and frying them, with a wide variety that includes meat, seafood, vegetables, and seasonal limited-time items.
With a fine, light coating, they have a crisp bite and are enjoyed with sauce, which is why people say they pair well with alcohol.
Photograph:Sa〜3103
The restaurant offers about 10 kinds of pizza, all Homemade from the dough up, and they are known for their thin, fragrant crust topped with plenty of ingredients.
The alcohol menu is also extensive, including wines available by the glass. It seems like an easygoing place where you can casually enjoy a drink while snacking on the food.
MIMS
Three close friends got together for drinks. It's great that this place is so close to the station. Happy hour runs until 20時, so you can drink on the cheap. It’s fun to order the kushiage (deep-fried skewers) Omakase and see what comes out as you eat. The Shitamachi Mix Pizza is loaded with toppings and full of downtown-style warmth.

The skewers were good, but the pizza was especially tasty. It had a thin crust and a nice crisp bite. The food came quickly, and the staff were polite, making it a really nice place. Since there were two of us, we had drinks at the counter. It seems easy to use whether you want to stop by for a quick drink after work or sit at a table and enjoy drinks with friends, so I’d like to come back.

Yaki Maru is a restaurant on the first floor of Station Garden Tower, connected to the north exit side of Nippori Station, and it focuses on kushiyaki (grilled skewers).
The bright interior, lined with whitewood tables, has plenty of counter seating, making it easy to stop by alone and also perfect for lively drinks with a group.
Photograph:AOI.SIVA
The popular kushiyaki (grilled skewers) are said to use fresh ingredients prepared that very morning. There is a wide variety, including pork and vegetables.
Another nice point is that the ingredients are cut into small pieces and skewered, so they are easy to eat. You can choose between salt seasoning and a sweet-savory tare sauce.
Photograph:さりこんぐ
It seems they offer a wide range of dishes made with fresh pork, as well as various dishes seasoned to pair well with alcohol.
They also have original drinks such as Bariking, a shochu (Japanese distilled spirit) mixed with extracts of Japanese spices and herbs like ginger and sansho (Japanese pepper), then cut with soda water.
Tonight I visited Yaki Maru near Nippori Station. The place has a lively atmosphere and feels easy to enter even on your own. The grilled motsu (offal skewers) are reasonably priced, starting at JPY160 per skewer. As you would expect from fresh pork processed that morning, it has no off notes and tastes great. The grilling is just right too.

It says motsuyaki (grilled offal), but the izakaya menu is really well stocked. They cover a pretty wide range, from sashimi (raw fish) and small plates to skewers. It all tastes great too. The sara nankotsu (cartilage plate) is definitely good as well. With this much yakiton (grilled pork skewers), yakitori (grilled chicken skewers), and small plates, it makes sense that the place is thriving. It’s a good spot that’s easy to use and easy to walk into. The onion rings topped with sour cream are the best.

Especially popular is the "osashimi assortment". About 8 kinds of seafood recommended that day are beautifully arranged on the plate.
A whole fish served with the head still on is also considered auspicious, and the beautifully presented sashimi is perfect for a meal on a special occasion. You may even get to try rare fish at times.
Photograph:b.blue5375
The owner personally visits Japanese sake breweries and stocks about 30 carefully selected labels. They also serve seasonal limited editions and rare Japanese sake.
For a finishing rice dish after drinks, the popular choice is "Sea Bream Clay Pot Rice," made by cooking rice and fish together in a Clay Pot. The flavor of the Sea Bream soaks into the rice.
71ca1f8375
The sashimi assortment included unusual items I had rarely seen before, such as ayu (sweetfish) sashimi, which made it feel fresh and very tasty. They also clearly put a lot of effort into sourcing fish, and the menu had a wide range of rare simmered and grilled fish dishes, along with maru-age of sawagani (freshwater crabs). They also had a wide selection of Japanese sake, and they served options matched to our tastes, which made for a very satisfying experience.

I’ve visited this restaurant several times, and sawa-gani (freshwater crab) Kara-age is one of their specialties, so I always order the sawa-gani when I come here. It’s so good! I could eat as many as they’d serve!! The freshness of the sashimi is unforgettable! It’s a great place that makes you want to come back regularly. They also have Private room seating, so it seems like a useful option for business dinners and similar occasions.

The Kara-age Grand Prix, a competition that decides Japan's best fried chicken dish, Kara-age. A specialty here is "Yajiteba," a chicken wing Kara-age that won the grand prize at that competition.
It is said to have a peppery, spicy kick, with crispy skin and juicy meat.

They offer a wide range of dishes that go well with alcohol, including sashimi (raw fish slices) and yakitori (grilled chicken skewers). They also stock a broad selection of Japanese sake, from dry to sweet.
The “Mega Mug,” which is said to hold about three times as much as a regular mug, is heavy but a good deal and recommended for those who want to drink a lot.

I visited Yajiro Nippori Honten, just a short walk from the station! Their famous award-winning tebaski (chicken wings) are outstanding! They are meaty, spicy and juicy, go great with drinks, and at JPY180 each they are a great deal! The tebaski that won some kind of grand prix? really are tasty, and I honestly feel like I could keep going with just the tebaski and drinks forever! lol

The drinks were really cheap! The place was on the small side and always crowded, which gave it a nice izakaya atmosphere. The food was also reasonably priced, and both the fish and yakitori (grilled chicken skewers) were very good. It was the kind of place that made me want to go back and eat there again for the first time in a while〜. The aburi shime-saba (seared marinated mackerel), three kinds of sashimi, namero (minced fish with seasonings), yakitori, and dashimaki tamago (Japanese rolled omelet with dashi) were all delicious!

A famous spot in Nippori that I’ve been going to for about 35 years! I’ve been coming here since the days of the previous owner-chef, and the skill of the current young owner-chef, who’s around my age, is the real deal too! The best bakudan (seafood mix dish) in Japan, noten maguro (top head tuna)... and the onigiri (rice balls) are top-class too! The nikudofu (meat and tofu stew) I tried for the first time today was GOOD too! And the cost performance is also pretty GOOD!

Every dish is very good across the board, and there are no misses from the sashimi to the fried items. Honestly, I think it is top level in the Nippori area, and stands out even among the best. Whether they are especially skilled at handling fish or not, even the sashimi 3-piece assortment comes out with very good freshness for an izakaya (Japanese pub), and I am glad that, true to the shitamachi (old downtown) style, the cuts are thick and not stingy. Because the slices are thick, you can really taste the fish itself.

A senior colleague casually took me here. It’s a taishu izakaya (casual Japanese pub). An easy place to drop by. Maybe it’s an izakaya with a focus on seafood? Since this was our second stop, we had a few light snacks and enjoyed some drinks. An open and convenient izakaya.

The signature "Maguro Kaiou assortment" comes with 5 kinds: hon-maguro (bluefin tuna) lean meat, belly toro, bincho-maguro (albacore tuna), haramo (fatty belly meat), and hon-maguro toro chunks, so it is easy to understand and nice... fun to look at... and fun to eat~•*¨*•.¸¸♬︎The "Asari no Sakamushi (steamed Manila clams with sake)" has only a little broth, but the clam flavor and dashi are so good~

It seems that many people visit in groups. There are also several courses with All you can drink, and some plans let you relax and stay awhile, so you can enjoy plenty of conversation with your group.
There are also many reviews saying that the staff are pleasant and friendly.

They offer a wide range of dishes, including sashimi, fried dishes, grilled dishes, and Hot Pot dishes, and everything gets good reviews for being tasty.
They also have original dishes, such as a pizza with cheese on a thin crust and sprinkled with Gandara Kodai Shio (Gandhara ancient salt).
おデブなみっちゃんNEW
It is close to the station, so it is perfect for meeting up. I often visit with former classmates, and the Private room setup makes it even better. The menu is extensive, centered on yakitori (grilled chicken skewers), and there are also many sides like pickles, so it suits us well when we want to stay a while. You can also place most orders from the iPad in the room, which adds to the sense of privacy.

They kindly handled the changes to the number of people in our reservation again, and this time we also ordered a course with All you can drink. It was also nice that the All you can drink time limit started not at the reserved time, but after everyone's first drinks had been served. And both the speed of the food service and the portion sizes were at a Manzoku level. This is a restaurant I would recommend for use with a large group as well.

Shikitei Nippori Ekimae Ten is an izakaya on the 6th floor of a building in front of Nippori Station, specializing in seafood dishes and also serving food unique to Hokkaido.
The Japanese modern space has several Private room options. They also offer rooms where you can take off your shoes and relax, and the dim lighting creates a calm atmosphere.

They reportedly contract directly with fishermen and source seafood caught that very day. The sashimi is cut on the thick side, so it has a nice bite and strong umami.
In Tokyo, you can enjoy dishes unique to Hokkaido made with ika (squid), sake (salmon), and other ingredients sourced from Hokkaido.

They offer several courses that can be ordered for 2 or more people, and they are said to be a great value, with generous portions of food and All you can drink included.
There are courses centered on Hot Pot dishes made by simmering ingredients in a large pot, as well as courses that save the trouble of serving portions to each person individually.

I judge whether a place is good by the thickness of the sashimi, and just like the reviews said, it was thick! And tasty too♡♡ Plus, they even had yukhoe (Korean-style raw beef) just the way I like it! So good. & the garlic in the Hot Pot was insanely good... I even finished the champon noodles (っ˘ڡ˘ς)

I had the kaki (oyster) tempura, and it came out piping hot. It also went very well with the ponzu sauce and had a nice crisp fry. I think they are really good at frying.

Fuzu Ba is an izakaya (Japanese pub) about a 1-minute walk from the South Exit of Nippori Station, offering a range of alcoholic drinks along with dishes centered on seasonal ingredients.
The interior looks bright and clean. It seems easy to visit whether you are on your own or with family or a group.

The menu covers a wide range of dishes, including fish, meat, vegetables, and eggs, and everything is said to pair well with alcohol.
Popular dishes also include bagna cauda, which lets you enjoy plenty of fresh vegetables, and carpaccio made with fresh sashimi and avocado.
Photograph:c71682
In addition to dishes that go well with alcohol, they also offer meal options like ramen, pasta, and onigiri (rice balls), so it is also recommended for a meal-focused visit.
You can order à la carte, or enjoy a Banquet with a course that includes All you can drink.

I love this place and have been here many times. The sashimi and a la carte dishes are really good. The sashimi salad is a gorgeous salad with lots of sashimi on top! Also, the famous sasami (chicken tender) tataki is tasty and has no off notes! You can also enjoy seasonal dishes like fried flounder and yellowtail fry. It is inexpensive even with drinks, and the food comes out fairly quickly, so it deserves more recognition!

My first impression was that it was reasonably priced. Even so, the food was simply good in the best way. Personally, my favorites were the garlic fried rice and chicken nanban (fried chicken with tartar sauce). I also saw quite a few people stopping by for drinks after work while having dinner at the same time. It is also close to Nippori Station, which makes it nice and easy to drop in casually.

Izakaya Enkyaku Nishi-Nippori Ten is an izakaya near the Nishinippori 5-chome intersection, located on the first floor of a building and easy to spot thanks to its large signboard and lanterns.
The space is bright and clean. It also has Semi-private room style spaces divided by noren (traditional shop curtains), and there are table seats on the second floor as well.

The main draw is seafood dishes made with fresh fish and shellfish brought in from the market every day. They also serve oysters sourced from the Tohoku region.
They also offer yakitori (grilled chicken skewers) made with jidori (free-range chicken) from Kagoshima Prefecture. You can order them one skewer at a time, so they are perfect when you just want a little bite.

It used to be a Chinese restaurant, and there are several reviews saying you can enjoy drinks while eating items from the Chinese menu.
The ramen is also said to be simple but good. Since you can add only All you can drink to the à la carte menu, it is also recommended for people who want to focus on alcohol.

Gan dofu (dried tofu). Assorted sashimi. Gindara (sablefish) saikyo-yaki (Kyoto-style miso grilled fish). Seafood salt yakisoba. The otoshi (small appetizer) was ao mame dofu (green soybean tofu). I always order the gan dofu. I like its firm, chewy texture. The assorted sashimi was cut thick! It was very satisfying. The fish was good too. The salt yakisoba filled me up.

I had the weekly yurinchi (fried chicken with savory sauce) set meal. The ordering system uses a tablet. The evening drink set also seems like a good deal. The bento lunches are also a flat 650円, and I think I’ll try one next time. The staff are also very attentive.

Sumibi Yakitori Kushiyoshi Nishi-Nippori Ten is a yakitori restaurant located about halfway between Nippori Station and Nishi-Nippori Station, tucked away deeper inside a building entrance like a hidden gem.
The calm Japanese style interior has counter seats and Sunken kotatsu seating, making it easy to visit whether you are on your own or with a group.

The menu centers on dishes made with Mitsuse-dori (brand chicken raised in Kyushu). The chicken is served as yakitori (grilled chicken skewers) cooked over charcoal, along with a range of à la carte dishes.
A popular item is tsunagi (the part between the heart and liver). They also serve liver seasoned with garlic, green onion, and other ingredients.

The signature dish is the "kuro yakisoba (black fried noodles)," which has a spicy Worcestershire sauce kick and pairs well with alcohol.
They also offer a course that includes the restaurant's signature dishes such as yakitori (grilled chicken skewers), liver, and yakisoba, along with All you can drink.

Go to the back of the building and you’ll find a lively yakitori izakaya (Japanese pub) with celebrity autographs on the walls, giving it a real hidden gem feel♪The yakitori was good across the board, and you can order each skewer from 1 piece, so I was very Manzoku! I tried tsunagi (the part between the heart and liver) yakitori for the first time, and it was exactly the kind of flavor I like. The right amount of fat and the sweet sauce were the best〜

The drinks and food were both great, and the service was really good. The liver tasting comparison is hard to find elsewhere, and it was a lot of fun. We had an All you can drink course, and the drinks were made on the strong side, so I got nicely drunk. I want to go again!

Maruyasu Sakaba Nippori Ten is an izakaya centered on Chinese cuisine, located on the second floor of a building right by the south exit of Nippori Station.
The interior has the warm wooden feel of a kominka (traditional Japanese house). The large tables give you plenty of room to sit back and relax. Since it is Open 24 hours, you can use it as an izakaya even during the day, and you can also have a full meal.
Photograph:ごほうび♡
There are more than 80 food items on the menu, and many of the dishes seem to be quite hearty. Each plate is said to be big enough to share between 2 to 3 people.
You can also add an All you can drink option with more than 120 drink choices when ordering a la carte.

The All you can eat plan for groups of 3 or more is also popular. You can order whatever you want from the All you can eat menu, and they serve everything freshly made, so people say you can enjoy piping hot dishes.
You can also use the All you can eat and All you can drink options without a reservation, so it is perfect for an On-the-Day get-together.
risai05
The fried rice is light and separate with a nice toasty aroma, and the bold seasoning makes it incredibly good! The ebi chili (shrimp in chili sauce) also features plump shrimp coated well in a sweet and spicy sauce, making it perfect with drinks too. They also have a wide selection of alcohol, and the prices are reasonable. It is nice that even if you keep drinking until after 3 a.m., it is still easy on the wallet. The place has a casual, lively atmosphere where you can have fun without putting on airs, and it is also perfect for an After-Party.

Even though it’s All you can eat, it’s order-based, so having piping hot dishes brought out feels so luxurious〜(laughs)The All you can drink option uses a glass exchange system, but since it was lunch, everyone had tea-based drinks. I don’t get many chances to have a Banquet, but I heard they’re open 24 hours, so it’s perfect for when you want to keep drinking. It was delicious, so I’ll visit again❗️
