The fresh fish, carefully selected with a trained eye, is served in a wide range of dishes using cooking methods suited to each ingredient, including sashimi, charcoal grilling, and fried dishes.
The "Otsukuri assortment" in the photo is said to be served as individual portions of several kinds of fresh fish.
The "Omakase course" is popular at this restaurant. It is an All you can drink plan that lets you enjoy small portions of carefully prepared dishes, including house made side dishes, three kinds of sashimi, steamed dishes, and fried dishes.
The photo shows the first dish served, the "sozai (side dishes)." Items like nimono (simmered dishes) and aemono (dressed dishes) seem to be well liked for their gentle flavors.

This is a hideaway-style diner where you can enjoy seasonal flavors and Japanese sake! Despite its great location just steps from the Roppongi intersection, it has a calm atmosphere that makes you forget the bustle! This izakaya stands out for its relaxing space, like a calm Japanese-style diner, where you can enjoy seasonal fish, Japanese sake, and local sake.

I had heard from an acquaintance that the fish here is great. The day's recommended sashimi was written on the blackboard, so I ordered an assortment. When I ordered the grilled mackerel, they brought out a whole fish, which was very satisfying to eat. They have a wide selection of Japanese sake, so I think it is a good place for Japanese sake lovers.

Popular dishes here use seasonal fish and vegetables that the owner personally selected with Special care. The seasonal sashimi served as the otoshi (small appetizer) is said to be fresh and nicely rich with fat.
They also offer a wide selection of Japanese sake and shochu, and some reviews say it is fun to choose drinks that pair well with the food.
For the course menu, they serve monthly changing dishes that pair well with drinks, centered around their signature Clay Pot rice.
The photo shows Clay Pot rice made generously with uni (sea urchin) and ikura (salmon roe). The fresh uni and ikura on top of the piping hot freshly cooked rice are said to be a perfect match.

This hideaway-like spot is a short walk from Roppongi Station, located around between Midtown and the National Art Center⁉️I ordered à la carte, but the otoshi (small appetizer) was sashimi⁉️It felt so luxurious, with kani miso (crab tomalley), Ume Suisho, meat, hotate reakatsu (rare fried scallops), and uni (sea urchin) ikura (salmon roe) rice to finish, and Japanese sake was exactly the right match for it all.

Every dish was delicious, but the one that really stayed with me was the Clay Pot rice! The Clay Pot rice, split into two kinds with ikura (salmon roe) and uni (sea urchin), was really great and so tasty. Each grain of rice stood out, and the dish really made me appreciate the great taste and beauty of Clay Pot cooking all over again. Every dish was good, and it is the kind of place where conversation flows naturally. The staff's thoughtful service was also very pleasant.

Yakitori no Hachibei Roppongi Ten is a long-established yakitori (grilled chicken skewer) restaurant founded in Hakata 40 years ago, with 7 restaurants in Fukuoka. It is about a 4-minute walk from Roppongi Station on the Tokyo Metro Hibiya Line.
The sofa seating on the main floor is spacious, so you can relax and enjoy your drinks in comfort.
Photograph:n_zukka
The yakitori (grilled chicken skewers) is made with Special jidori (local free-range chicken) sourced from around Japan, with each skewer carefully prepared by hand and quickly grilled over high-heat binchotan (white charcoal).
People say you can fully enjoy great yakitori here in a lively dining space where the grill is set up like a stage, away from the bustle of Roppongi.

There are several course menus to choose from depending on your budget and whether you want All you can drink or not, and the Most Popular option is the "OMAKASE Entry" course, which includes 9 dishes, 10 Omakase skewers, and 120 minutes of All you can drink.
The photo shows the "Hakata Chicken Ramen" served To finish. It is one of the restaurant's specialty dishes, made with a rich chicken broth.

A yakitori restaurant in Roppongi. I had the most popular No. 1 course. The staff had a really nice vibe, and I felt comfortable the whole time. Among the yakitori, the chicken wings were the biggest, juicy, and delicious. The seseri (neck meat) and kashiwa (chicken thigh), on the other hand, were on the smaller side lol The All you can drink menu had a great selection! It was a great meal.

Nikujiru Suigyoza Gyoho Roppongi Kosaten is an izakaya (Japanese pub) right by Roppongi Station on the Toei Oedo Line, next to the police box at the Roppongi intersection.
Inside, the table-centered seating lit by red lanterns draws a lively crowd day after day and has an energetic feel, and it often fills up around 19:00, so it is best to visit early.
Photograph:ishikyu
The restaurant’s signature menu item is the “Nikujiru Bakuhatsu Suigyoza (juicy burst boiled dumplings).” In Japan, yaki-gyoza (pan-fried dumplings) are the standard style, but these are inspired by suigyoza (boiled dumplings) from China and Taiwan and finished as the restaurant’s own original dish.
The suigyoza served with warm soup have a good reputation for being delicious.
Photograph:SAO☆
In addition to gyoza (dumplings), the dim sum selection is also extensive. The lineup includes piping hot shumai (steamed meat dumplings) and xiaolongbao (soup dumplings) steamed in a bamboo steamer, as well as bite-sized gyoza.
The photo shows the “Aotogarashi Shumai (green chili pepper shumai).” It has a pleasantly spicy kick that goes great with drinks.
そu
We ordered gyoho (dumpling buns), ebi shumai (shrimp shumai), and nikumiso moyashi (bean sprouts with meat miso). The gyoho was as reliably good as ever, with an excellent balance of juicy meat filling and wrapper. It felt especially comforting and welcome in the cold season. The ebi shumai had a nice springy texture, and the nikumiso moyashi had a straightforward flavor that paired well with drinks.

The specialty here is the signature "niku-jiru sui-gyoza (soup-filled boiled dumplings)." They are served in a style where you simmer and eat them in the soup, and the flavor-packed juices fill your mouth with each bite. The Hot Pot comes in an "oshidori-nabe (yin-yang Hot Pot)" style that lets you enjoy two kinds of soup at once, with a nice contrast between the mildly spicy mala soup and the mellow paitan soup. The meal is designed so you can enjoy it all the way to the finishing dish.

They offer a lineup of dishes made with Horumon, jidori (free-range chicken), fish, and more, each prepared with an extra touch.
The top recommendation is the "motsu Hot Pot," which you can choose in three varieties: salt, soy sauce, or shiro miso (white miso). The lightly spiced soup gets good reviews for its pleasant kick.
One item that gets great reviews is the "Honoo no Aburi Shime Saba (flame-seared cured mackerel)." Another nice touch, according to reviews, is the performance of finishing it with a gas burner right at the table after it arrives.
Reviews also said it had a great aroma and just the right level of salt, making it a good match for drinks.

Takkhanmari Daigaku is a popular izakaya about a 3-minute walk from Azabu-juban Station on the Oedo Line, where you can enjoy authentic Korean food in a stylish setting.
With red accents throughout, the interior has a lively atmosphere that brings Korea to mind, with cute decor.

The restaurant's namesake dish, "dakhanmari (whole chicken)," literally means "one whole chicken." It is a Hot Pot made with a whole chicken, and they use freshly butchered Domestic chicken simmered slowly to create a mild, tasty broth that gets great reviews.
The collagen-rich soup is said to be especially popular with people interested in beauty and staying healthy.
Photograph:t.m.m.7
The Korean-style spicy stir-fried octopus "jukkumi" is also popular.
The tasty and spicy grilled jukkumi with octopus, Horumon, and chicken is said to be the kind of flavor that makes you want to come back for more after just one bite. As a palate cleanser, the restaurant’s style is to wrap it with honey mayonnaise, Korean Perilla Leaves, egoma (perilla), and sweet pickled daikon radish before eating.

The dakhanmari (Korean chicken hotpot) was amazing!!!!!!The soup was packed with rich chicken flavor and tasted great, and since it was All you can eat, we added all kinds of extras!!!!!!I was fully Manzoku all the way through the final noodles and zosui (rice porridge)!!!!!!It was easy to share with friends too, so I’ll definitely be back!!!!!!I’ll visit again!!!

A great place to really enjoy dakhanmari (Korean chicken hotpot)! The chicken is tender, and the soup is packed with good flavor. It is simple, but you will keep reaching for more. Another fun point is that you can change up the taste with yakumi (condiments) and sauces as you eat. Even the noodles or zosui (rice porridge) at the end are properly delicious, and I was completely satisfied. The restaurant has a lively feel, and it is an easy place to visit whether you are with friends or on a date.

You can enjoy yakitori centered on Hinai Jidori (Akita local chicken), a local chicken from Akita.
You can order from a single skewer, but if you want to fully enjoy the yakitori, a course is recommended. The Most Popular option is said to be the "Sachi Course," which comes with skewers such as Hinai Jidori and Daisendori, plus a To finish meal.

The "Kiwami Course" is a full course made up of grilled skewers of rare cuts of Hinai Jidori (free-range chicken breed) and the restaurant's popular signature dishes.

It was a wonderful restaurant where you could feel the care and attention in every single dish. The yakitori (grilled chicken skewers) was fragrant and juicy, and the quality of the ingredients really stood out. The atmosphere was calm, making it a great place to enjoy a more grown-up time. The pudding for dessert had a melt-in-your-mouth texture and was excellent. I could see why it is considered one of Roppongi (Roppongi)'s well-known restaurants. I would love to visit again.

The concept of the food is dishes that pair well with Japanese sake. You can enjoy seafood dishes such as a fresh sashimi assortment, oden, and To finish, Clay Pot rice.
The photo shows the "zuwai-gani (snow crab) tsufuu-mori (luxury assortment loaded with rich seafood)." Uni, crab, ikura, aburi mentaiko, and kani miso make it incredibly luxurious! It gets good reviews for its rich flavor that goes great with drinks.

The specialty is the Shizuoka style “makkuro oden (jet black oden),” made with broth from shijimi (freshwater clams). Shizuoka oden is known for its jet black broth and ingredients served on skewers. You eat it topped with dashi powder and aonori (green laver), making it one of Shizuoka’s signature local dishes.
Popular ingredients include chikuwabu (wheat gluten fish cake), jakoten (fried fish cake), and kuro hanpen (dark fish cake).
Moco1080
I expected a casual oden (Japanese stew) shop, but the stylish interior and carefully presented dishes pleasantly went against my expectations. The sashimi was fresh and delicious too. Yakitori Shouchan Roppongi Ten is an izakaya just steps from Roppongi Station on the Toei Oedo Line, with a stylish interior that hardly feels like a yakitori place, making it a good pick for dates or parties.
The fully private room, which can accommodate up to 8 people, lets guests enjoy their meal in a calm and private setting.
Photograph:no.578
They offer more than 50 kinds of yakitori (grilled chicken skewers), including rare cuts. They reportedly use chicken butchered the same morning it was caught, which is unusual in Tokyo.
The rare cuts include "otafuku," "aburatsubo," and "hiza Cartilage." You can enjoy juicy yakitori packed with flavor.
Photograph:どら身
The delicate à la carte dishes are also popular, with care put into both the Homemade preparation and the presentation. The menu centers on fresh organic vegetables shipped directly from farmers, so there are plenty of vegetable dishes too.
The photo shows the “A4 Wagyu tataki (lightly seared beef),” a salad-style dish with rare beef and lots of vegetables. It is said to pair perfectly with wine thanks to the tartness of the Homemade apple sauce and balsamic vinegar.

I’d never come across really good yakitori in Tokyo before, so I had high hopes after hearing this place was good. I ended up ordering all sorts of things, but the liver was especially delicious. A Japanese course meal at this hideaway-style restaurant at a reasonable price is much appreciated. They have a wide selection of drinks, and since they pair so well with the food, I ended up drinking a bit too much. The doburoku (unrefined sake) was also very good. The course that comes with Hida-gyu (Hida beef) and Yuiuma-buta (Yuiuma pork) is a great deal. Are all the places in Roppongi this amazing??? We suddenly made a reservation for 5 people. Tequila came as the otoshi (appetizer served at the start), and everyone got pretty excited. Hashimoto is an izakaya (Japanese pub) on a quiet street just one block off the main road, about a 3-minute walk from Roppongi Station on the Oedo Line.
Founded in 1978, it has a classic old-school feel. Inside, there are Sunken kotatsu seating tables where you can take off your shoes and relax, as well as counter seats, and it is often used as a dining spot for small groups.
The popular kamo-nabe (duck Hot Pot) is made with aigamo (crossbred domestic duck), known as a healthy meat, and comes with plenty of aigamo meatballs made without fillers, which you enjoy together with aigamo meat and vegetables such as negi (Japanese leek).
A course meal built around kamo-nabe is also recommended.
Photograph:モカちゃんパパ
The carefully made house-made snacks to go with drinks are also well liked.
The “Nagasaki Unzen Atsugiri Hamukatsu” in the photo uses a thick-cut fried cutlet of Nagasaki Unzen pork sausage. It is a tender, juicy, and filling dish.

This was my second visit, and this time again I had the kamo-nabe (duck Hot Pot) course. The broth and the fat from the duck were really nice, and they went perfectly with the green onions. In addition to the Hot Pot, there were also three other dishes. I had the negitoro (minced tuna) last time too, and it is really more like maguro no namero (seasoned tuna tartare), and very tasty. The final zosui (rice porridge) soaked up the duck fat and broth well, and it was full of flavor. I spent a full 2 hours enjoying everything with drinks.

They offer a wide range of dishes that make the most of the natural flavor of vegetables. Along with the regular menu, they also have local dishes from regions across Japan.
One review said that the "Butanankotsu to Kon-sai no Taita Mono (simmered pork cartilage and root vegetables)" was outstanding, with pork cartilage so tender it melted apart.

The photo shows cream cheese mixed with iburigakko (smoked pickled daikon radish), shuto, and salted kombu. Iburigakko is a pickled food that represents Akita Prefecture, made by smoking daikon radish and then pickling it with rice bran, salt, and coarse sugar.
It goes well with cream cheese and has a rich flavor that pairs great with drinks.

Each dish was carefully prepared one by one, and the beautiful presentation made every course feel special. What stood out most was the vegetable takimono (simmered vegetables), with dashi richness that really sank into the body. And To finish, the porridge-like zosui (rice soup) with chicken tenderloin and egg was a comforting dish, with the aroma of ume paste and mitsuba (Japanese parsley) adding a nice accent.

Every single dish was delicious and paired well with Japanese sake. I especially loved the iburigakko (smoked pickled daikon), shuto, and cream cheese. They also had a wide selection of Japanese sake, and I had a very enjoyable time.

Not only is the food great, but I was also amazed by the wide selection of Japanese sake! When I told the manager what I wanted, he brought out the perfect Japanese sake for me! It was so good that you need to be careful not to drink too much, but this is an irresistible place for sake lovers!

The Japanese food served in the calm atmosphere all gives the impression of being carefully prepared and pairing well with alcohol. I enjoyed the gentle Japanese seasoning in dishes like fried items made with crab and simmered daikon radish. The octopus Kara-age and fried items wrapped in nori (seaweed) were also fragrant and perfect as snacks with drinks. There was even udon at the end, which made the meal satisfying as a full dining experience.

I visited for a business dinner. The restaurant was very clean and spotless inside, with counter seats, table seating, and Private rooms. The staff were great too! Everyone had wonderful smiles. Most importantly, every dish was tasty, and my favorite was something like grilled squid with liver? It paired perfectly with drinks and was the best. I’ll definitely be back!

Ore no Sumi is an izakaya about a 7-minute walk from Roppongi Station on the Hibiya Line, where an irori (sunken hearth) is set up at each seat so you can freely enjoy charcoal grilling.
The restaurant serves seasonal ingredients and changes its dishes with the seasons, and reviews say there is always something new to discover no matter when you visit.
Photograph:暇な港区OL
The real draw is grilling dried fish from Izu and more at the irori (sunken hearth) at Each table, to your own preferred doneness.
The photo shows dried aoaji (blue mackerel scad) shipped direct from Numazu, Shizuoka Prefecture. It is nicely rich in fat and goes well with both rice and alcohol.

Freshly cooked rice made from Special rice selected by a rice meister and cooked in a hagama (traditional iron pot) is also popular.
The glossy ginshari (plain white rice) cooked in the hagama is said to have a faint sweetness. Takikomi gohan (seasoned rice cooked with ingredients) made with seasonal ingredients is also popular.
This time, I went a little luxe and enjoyed the JPY10000 course! The smell and sound of the charcoal fire rising from across the counter got me excited before I even started eating〜♪ It started with Appetizers. Each plate made the most of seasonal ingredients, looked beautiful, and tasted carefully made and refined♪ As for the grilled main dishes, this is exactly the skill you would expect from charcoal grilling pros! With perfect control over the heat, both the meat and fish were fragrant on the outside and juicy inside♪

When you search for washoku (Japanese cuisine) in Roppongi, a lot of places come up, but I recommend this restaurant. They suggest tasty ways to enjoy seasonal vegetables and fish each time, so the meal was very good. The mehikari (greeneye fish) soup in the first photo and the satsuma-age (fried fish cake) in the second photo were especially memorable, and the kamameshi (iron pot rice) was also delicious.

Yakitori shin is an izakaya by reservation only, just a 1-minute walk from the Nishi-Azabu intersection, and it has an adult hideaway dining atmosphere with all counter seating.
Since it has ducts that draw in the smoke from the charcoal fire, the smell is not a concern either.
The "Shin Special course" for enjoying Special yakitori (grilled chicken skewers) includes 12 dishes in total, and you can enjoy wine pairings.
With 6 skewers, sumiyaki (charcoal grilled) vegetables, whole chicken soup, and rice, it is very filling. The photo shows seseri (chicken neck meat), which is pleasantly firm, with great texture and aroma from the mustard.
Photograph:やっぱり蕎麦
For the course meal, you can choose from chicken soba, chicken keema curry, tori soboro Rice bowl, or oyako-don (chicken and egg Rice bowl). Each one is said to be a great dish that makes the most of chicken.
The photo shows the oyako-don, which gets high praise for its chicken that soaks up the dashi and stays juicy and tender, along with its rich soft-cooked egg.
Azabudog
I was craving yakitori (grilled chicken skewers), but the place I usually go to was full, so I quickly searched on Tabelog. It was my first time at this restaurant, but each dish was carefully prepared, and the chef was easy to talk to, so I felt really lucky. It was all really delicious. It’s a place that made me want to come back again.

I found yakitori (grilled chicken skewers) that I could honestly call delicious for the first time in a while. Or rather, it felt more like stylish creative yakitori. The various sauces were outstanding, and the chicken had a great springy texture and tasted great. There were several options for the finishing dish, and since you can choose from different kinds, I thought maybe one of them would be less polished, but not at all. Both the soboro (seasoned ground chicken) and the ramen tasted like they had been made with real care, and they were incredibly good.

You can enjoy seasonal seafood sourced from Toyosu (a major Tokyo fish market) and a wide selection of Japanese sake.
The photo shows tachiuo (cutlassfish) rolled with plum and shiso. The seared tachiuo is made into a roll, and the plum and shiso add a nice accent. The fish dishes with that extra touch are well regarded.
Course meals with All you can drink Japanese sake are popular. Reviews also said that being able to drink about 40 different labels made for a rare experience.
Besides Japanese sake, they also offer draft beer, shochu, and highballs.

I visited Sakurа Toriizaka, a hideaway in Roppongi and Toriizaka, for the first time. This time, I made a reservation for the “20 small dishes + 40 types of All you can drink Japanese sake course.” The interior has a calm atmosphere, with a space that feels warm and Japanese in style, where time seems to pass at an easy pace. It gave me the impression of a hideaway for adults, making it perfect for dates or business entertainment.

A cozy izakaya in the basement in Azabu-Juban♡We went with a course that includes All you can drink Japanese sake! The first thing that impressed me was the beautiful 5-item assortment of small kobachi (small bowls), basically the otoshi appetizer! It’s so nice to enjoy a little bit of lots of tasty things! From surinagashi (pureed soup) to salad, sunomono (vinegared dish), and nimono (simmered dish)! Everything had a gentle flavor and was easy to eat, but also went so well with Japanese sake!!

They serve a wide range of dishes that make the most of seasonal ingredients. The menu changes daily, so some say you can discover new flavors every time you visit.
A popular item is the restaurant’s original yuba shumai (tofu skin dumpling). It is well loved for its silky, tender texture, and even the dashi broth is said to be delicious.
Photograph:ffb7b3
The photo shows the restaurant's standard menu item, dashimaki tamago (Japanese rolled omelet), made with house-made dashi stock, which is popular for its light texture and gentle flavor.
It is fairly large, so sharing it is also recommended. It is served with grated daikon radish, soy sauce, and chopped green onions.
Kazboy
It has that back-alley feel, and the kind of place only someone who knows it could guide you to. The dining room is lively, and the staff are cheerful, which really lifts your mood too. All of the food is good, but the sashimi assortment and roast beef are a must! When the place gets busy, it might be a good idea to order your drinks a little early. I want to come again!

Since there are only a few seats, it’s best to contact them in advance or make a reservation if you plan to visit! This restaurant mainly serves washoku (Japanese cuisine), and everything I tried, from the sashimi to the yuba shumai (tofu skin shumai), was great. The yuba shumai was so tasty that I ended up drinking all the dashi broth too. The sashimi was fresh, and it seems to vary by day, with the menu also changing daily.

Okinawa Dining Ryuka Roppongi Ten is an izakaya where you can enjoy Okinawan cuisine, located just steps from Roppongi Station on the Toei Oedo Line. The interior is an open and bright space filled with Okinawan music.
It offers several types of seating, including Sunken kotatsu seating, table Private rooms, and Semi-private rooms.

The Okinawan cuisine here focuses on ingredients shipped direct from the production region, using fish caught in the waters near Okinawa and Okinawan vegetables that are also good for health and beauty. Ingredients with a distinctive flavor are arranged to be easy to enjoy.
The photo shows umi-budo (sea grapes), enjoyed with ponzu sauce for its pleasantly popping texture.

A classic of Okinawan cuisine, goya chanpuru (stir-fried bitter melon) is a local dish made by stir-frying goya (bitter melon), shima-dofu (Okinawan tofu), pork, eggs, and other ingredients.
They prepare it carefully, so one of its key features is that the goya has very little bitterness. Fu chanpuru (stir-fried wheat gluten) is also recommended, with lots of rich umami soaked into the fu.

It was a creative Okinawan restaurant^^We had jiimami dofu (peanut tofu), goya chanpuru (bitter melon stir-fry), potatoes with aosa (green laver) and salt, gurukun (banana fish) Kara-age, and risotto with Okinawa soba broth! Everything was incredibly delicious♪The drink selection was also very extensive!

This Okinawan restaurant izakaya serves a very tasty otoshi (small appetizer). The refreshing otoshi came with broth and an onsen tamago (soft-cooked egg), and you dip mozuku (Okinawan seaweed) into it, which was especially nice in the summer heat! I always order rafute (Okinawan braised pork belly) when I go to an Okinawan restaurant, but this one was a little lightly seasoned lol. They had lots of tasty dishes, including soki soba (Okinawan pork rib noodle soup) and beni-imo korokke (purple sweet potato croquettes). My personal favorite was the sanmai-niku (simmered pork belly) on top of the soki soba!
