Ginza Nomikoji Yamagishi

A restaurant where you can enjoy cha-kaiseki (traditional tea-ceremony kaiseki) in an à la carte style. It offers lively counter seats and also has Private rooms for 2〜4 guests.

It is on the 10th floor of the "Ginza Takagi Building," a 5-minute walk from Shimbashi Station. You can enjoy Japanese sake sourced from across Japan while taking in the nighttime view of Shimbashi.

They also offer a short course with sakizuke (appetizer) and otsukuri (sashimi platter), but you can also order a la carte.

The oden made with Kintoki ninjin (Kyoto carrot) and Horikawa gobo (Kyoto burdock), both Kyo-yasai (Kyoto vegetables), is available only at the Ginza location. It is said to pair well with Japanese sake and lets you enjoy a refined, gentle dashi broth.

The specialty "uni (sea urchin) dog" is generously topped with plenty of fresh uni. It is so popular that it sometimes sells out when they run out.

Reviews also rate it highly, with some saying it is the best uni they have ever had.

There are four must try items that change daily, and from there you keep adding whatever you want to eat! The sashimi was cut thick, and the maguro (tuna) had a rich, silky texture and tasted amazing!

Toranomon Yakitori Kuniyoshi

This charcoal grilled yakitori (grilled chicken skewers) restaurant sits just down the alley right outside Toranomon Hills Business Tower. They also stock a wide range of Belgian beer, wine, and Japanese sake, so you can use it as an izakaya (Japanese pub) as well.

Inside, in addition to a spacious U-shaped hinoki (Japanese cypress) counter, they also have four types of Private room.

The specialty "Kimi no Rebanira." is slowly grilled over binchotan (high-grade charcoal). It comes with a Japanese sake pairing.

The rich and full-bodied egg yolk and the low-temperature-cooked chicken liver make an excellent combination.

The standard choice is the Special course, where you can enjoy yakitori (grilled chicken skewers) and the restaurant's signature dishes, and it is recommended for those who want to enjoy drinks or add extra items freely.

The cheesecake served as dessert at the end is said to have a rich texture, and it is interesting that it pairs well with alcohol.

expectation

Rather than standard yakitori, this feels more like yakitori kaiseki (a traditional multi-course meal centered on grilled chicken), and the variety of dishes is surprising both for how unusual and how good they are. They also have many rare beers. The yakitori is all served with great care, so this might be a good place to use for business entertainment.

Each yakitori (grilled chicken skewer) is prepared with real care, and every bite brings out the flavor of the ingredients. The shiro reba (white liver) was especially outstanding, so good that I ended up ordering another. The chochin (grilled chicken ovary and yolk skewer) was also an unforgettable skewer. The balance of the grilling and the sauce was excellent, making it a must order for any yakitori lover.

Ginza Seiten

This restaurant is a 5-minute walk from Shimbashi Station and serves izakaya dishes that pair perfectly with drinks. They have a wide selection of Japanese sake, wine, and beer.

Inside, there is a small Japanese-style garden that creates a calm atmosphere. Since it is on the 10th floor of a building in Ginza, you can enjoy beautiful views of Tokyo Tower and more from the windows.

The dishes use fresh seafood caught that morning and delivered from Nagahama Shijo (Nagahama Market) in Fukuoka.

The "Ikiguruma Ebi Fry" features a crispy coating and plump flesh. It is said to bring out the shrimp's sweetness to the fullest.

At the Teppan-yaki right in front of the counter seats, you can enjoy the live kitchen experience.

☆From the counter seats, you can see Tokyo Tower, and the romantic atmosphere with the night view made it a perfect space for a date. Every dish was carefully prepared, the portions were filling, and the overall sense of Manzoku was great. The fish dishes in particular were outstanding, and I was impressed by the quality of the ingredients and the delicate seasoning.

The sashimi was especially delicious, and so was the sukiyaki (Japanese hot pot). Choosing fried rice for the finish was absolutely the right call❕I ended up eating a bit too much of the All you can eat mentaiko (spicy cod roe), too. The wine by the glass was also quite nice

Many people apparently order the "Tsukimi Tsukune" as a finishing dish after drinking. The rich egg yolk comes from Ran-Oh tamago (Ran-Oh eggs) produced in Oita Prefecture.

They also say it tastes excellent if you dip the leftover sauce and egg yolk with the small onigiri (rice ball) served later.

The Most Popular "Kiji Course" is a lavish course that includes eight kinds of kushiyaki, and it is said to offer both good volume and content for a Manzoku experience.

It was a fun dining experience where I got to enjoy cuts I had never tried before! The grill station was right in front of me, and I was really impressed by the chef’s careful, detailed way of trimming off the charred parts with scissors! It was a great meal!

Each yakitori skewer is grilled with great care, and the doneness is spot on. The momo (chicken thigh) and reba (liver) in particular are fragrant and juicy, bringing out the full flavor of the ingredients. The balance of salt is also very good, and the overall finish shows the skill of the grill chef. The other à la carte dishes are also consistently solid, and the food is without question at a high level. On taste alone, it stands among the top places in Tokyo.

We also enjoyed some drinks to go with the food. I did not order any myself this time, but the Japanese sake here is all high quality, and they say you can enjoy pairings with the dishes, from ones with a floral aroma to clean, dry ones! They go especially well with nodoguro (blackthroat seaperch)!

The kujira (whale) lean meat sashimi is said to be high quality with no off notes at all, letting you enjoy the rich flavor of the whale and its meltingly tender texture.

The restaurant buys fish and shellfish from Toyosu Shijo (Toyosu Market) every morning, so the freshness is outstanding. They also offer a wide range of snacks that go well with drinks.

The fresh fish sashimi assortment made with the day’s catch is beautifully presented and tastes great, so it offers a high sense of Manzoku.

atsu2915

We ordered three kinds of lean whale sashimi and three kinds of motsu sashimi (offal sashimi). Everything was fresh, with no off notes, and let us enjoy the good flavor of whale. Besides whale, they also had the unusual sugi (Japanese amberjack), so we ordered it as sashimi too. It had nice fat and a pleasantly crunchy texture, and it was delicious. This time, we also ordered various dishes other than whale and enjoyed them all.

You can eat all kinds of kujira (whale) meat! And all of it is delicious! Maybe its chewy texture is what makes it stand out? I went there for a Banquet, so I held back a bit, but if I had been alone, I might have eaten a lot more!

The maguro (tuna) sashimi assortment is excellent (I forgot to take a photo). The grilled maguro kama (tuna collar) was also cooked just right and tasted great. This restaurant serves high quality maguro that tuna lovers will find hard to resist and well worth it. Delicious!

すみた ゆうと

Head to an izakaya where you can drink with maguro (tuna) as your snack! Sip a matcha high made with matcha whisked right in front of you while picking at maguro. It’s delicious. Since there are lots of small snack style dishes, this place is better for people who want to nibble little by little rather than fill up on a full meal. I recommend the maguro shabu-shabu (tuna hotpot).

The grilled hamaguri (hard clam) was large and very satisfying to eat, and it was packed with rich umami, making it absolutely delicious. It was so good that I ended up ordering another one lol. The uni (sea urchin) roll was topped with so much rich, creamy uni that you could barely see the rice, and I enjoyed it with real excitement.

The signature “mala kaki-nabe (spicy oyster Hot Pot)” packs even more spice than you might expect, with a bold kick. The numbing heat from the sansho (Japanese pepper) really hits hard, so it might be best to go in ready for a challenge (lol). You can still clearly taste the rich flavor of the oysters, and the overall taste is seriously addictive.

Kushiyaki BISTRO Fukumimi Ginza Corridor Ten

A bistro like a grown-up hideaway, where you can enjoy excellent kushiyaki (grilled skewers) and A la carte All you can drink.

It is located on the basement level of the Tobu Ginza Daiichi Building in Ginza Corridor Gai, a street lined with izakaya, about a 5-minute walk from Shimbashi Station.

There is also counter seating, so even small groups can stop by with ease.

The popular skewers are carefully grilled over Kishu Bincho-zumi (Kishu binchotan charcoal) by certified grill masters who have passed the company’s strict in-house standards.

The “Special Skewer Course” lets you enjoy yakitori (grilled chicken skewers) cooked to just the right doneness, bringing out the best in each ingredient.

The “Premium Course” is available On-the-Day and is the most popular course, with All you can drink included.

The “Ogon tartar (golden tartar) chicken nanban” is said to be perfect with drinks, with crispy skin coated in a slightly sweet tartar sauce.

The skewers are large and satisfying. They properly grill them over charcoal. There are also many menu items besides skewers. They also cater to health conscious diners. The inside is surprisingly spacious, so it seems like you could get in even without a reservation. The staff are all full of energy and wonderful.

うみどん

The restaurant staff are all cheerful and pleasant in the way they help customers. Even when it is busy, someone always responds when you call to place an order. It is great to see such solid service, which sounds simple but is not always easy to do, and it makes the meal enjoyable.

Genpin Ginza Shimbashi fugu (blowfish), unagi (eel), and crab dishes

A Japanese pufferfish restaurant that started in Osaka, located a 3-minute walk from Shimbashi Station.

They offer an All you can drink menu, a classic izakaya option, and it gets extra points for including hirezake (hot sake with grilled pufferfish fin).

The interior has a chic design. You can enjoy pufferfish dishes in a calm atmosphere.

Genpin-style tessa (fugu sashimi), cut slightly thick, stands out for its firm texture and rich flavor. They say it offers the same great taste all year round.

The mildly sweet tessa and hirezake (toasted fugu fin sake), fragrant and infused with the good flavor of fugu, are said to be a perfect match.

The long-loved tecchiri (fugu Hot Pot), served since the restaurant first opened, can be ordered either as part of a course meal or A la carte.

Fugu (pufferfish) is light yet full of flavor, and the classic way to enjoy it is with the house-made ponzu sauce for a refreshing taste. The flesh has a firm bite, so it pairs well with drinks.

I think it is truly rare to find a place with All you can drink Tenderloin sake. The atmosphere of the restaurant was calm, and I had fugu (pufferfish), but every dish was one that would please the palate. Personally, the "fugu Kara-age" stood out in particular, served piping hot and juicy with a well-developed flavor.

In particular, the tessa (fugu sashimi) looked beautiful and each slice had a nice firm texture. When I tried the daimyogui (eating many slices at once) I had always wanted to do, the layered tessa in its millefeuille-like stack had even more crisp bounce, which brought out its plump texture, and I got so excited.
