Yude Taro is a famous soba chain known for making its own noodles at each location. I had always wanted to visit this restaurant, and I discovered that there's a branch in Goshogawara, so I decided to stop by for lunch. Since it was right in the middle of lunch hour, the place was incredibly crowded. The parking lot was full, and cars were exchanging with each other as they came and went. Inside, there were many customers waiting for a table. It seems that the secret to its popularity lies in the generous portions and affordable prices.

I quickly purchased a meal ticket from the vending machine.

Order: Daily Special Set 760 JPY (Mini Three Ebi Tempura Rice Bowl Set)

Here, I made a mistake. The meal ticket had a number written on it, so I mistakenly thought that I would be called automatically if I waited. However, I noticed that other customers who arrived later went directly to the counter in front of the kitchen, where they handed their purchased tickets to the staff to complete their order. How careless of me... If only there was some explanation on the vending machine... As a result, not only did I have to wait, but I ended up at the back of the line again. What a hassle...

After a 20-minute wait, I was finally seated, and when my number was called, I went to the counter to pick up my meal. The portion of soba was quite generous, and even though it was a mini bowl, it came with three pieces of ebi tempura. The soba had a perfect texture and was delicious. The mini bowl was a satisfying portion and very tasty. The satisfaction level of this set was outstanding, and it's clear why Yude Taro is so popular. According to my acquaintances, the restaurant opens at 7:00 AM, making it a common choice for local farmers who often stop by for breakfast after an early morning of farming.

I definitely want to come back to this place.

Last time I came after noon, so I decided to visit earlier this time. However, the parking lot was still full, although not as crowded as before. The restaurant was also fully booked, with waiting customers lined up.

Order: Mini Three Shrimp Tempura Rice Bowl Set + Cold Soba JPY 860.

Yude Taro offers a wide variety of dishes that keep things interesting for repeat visits. Still, I ended up ordering the same thing as last time because the soba and tempura rice bowl were so delicious. If they had udon, it would be nice since I have a family member who isn't fond of soba, allowing us to visit together. Nonetheless, even if someone doesn’t like soba, everyone can still enjoy the rice bowl options.

It was delicious. It was a great meal.
