県外からの知人を迎え、「一扇」さんにやってきました。
サービス料別途の10800円のコース料理をお願いしています。
二階の趣のある個室にご案内いただきました。
食前酒を杯でいただいた後、知人のリクエストで備前焼の生ビールで再度乾杯です。
その後は、地元の日本酒を中心にいただき、どれも美味しかったのですが、「山呼万歳声(さんこばんざいのこえ)」というお酒にそのネーミングを含めて心が惹かれました。
ネットで調べてみると、中国、前漢の時代、紀元前110年の正月元日、時の天子武帝は、大勢の臣民とともに中国五岳の一つ嵩山に登り、天子自ら恭しく祭壇を造り、山の神々に、天下泰平、国家鎮護を祈念します。
それを見守っていた臣民たちは感激し、天子の武運長久を祝して歓呼の声をあげます。
それが五岳の山々にこだまして、「万歳、万歳、万々歳」と大きく三度聞こえたといわれます。
この故事により、目出たいときには「万歳」と呼ぶ習わしになったというのです。
でも、禅家では、歓呼の声がこだまして「万歳」と聞こえただけではく、山そのものが「万歳」と呼ぶと考えるということです。
晴れであろうと、雨であろうと、風が吹こうが、どんな暴風雨がこようとも、山はいつも泰然自若として少しも動ずるところなく、堂々として静かで雄大です。
その雄大な姿こそが光り輝く仏の姿であり、悟りの真実であり、雄大な自然が「万歳、万歳、万々歳」と仏の命を吐露しているというのです。
「山は呼ぶ万歳の声」と名付けられたお酒の味は、スッキリとして芳醇です。
料理は、随所に工夫と心配りが感じられる期待通りのものでした。
特筆すべきものは、松茸と鱧の土瓶蒸しと、オコゼの薄づくりでしょうか。
旬のものを、美味しく正しく調理していただき、目と舌で堪能させていただきました。
知人にはとても喜んでいただき、私も大変嬉しく思いました。
豊かな料理に美味しいお酒、今日も楽しいひと時を過ごさせていただきました。
