The renowned tonkatsu restaurant has relocated to Akiruno, and I decided to visit right away!
The restaurant is quietly nestled in a residential area, and I was surprised to find it nearly full on a Sunday afternoon.
I was seated at a table in a Japanese-style room and ordered the Premium Loin Cutlet Set Meal.
The menu states it’s 250 grams, but it seemed closer to 300 grams in reality. The coating was fried to a rich golden brown, and the steam from the cut surface indicated that it was cooked for a relatively short time due to residual heat.
I started with a bite seasoned with salt; the meat was high-quality, tender, and packed with flavor. Although it had less fat, it still had a nice sweetness. I asked the owner if the meat was from a specific brand of pork, but he mentioned it wasn’t any particular brand.
Considering the size and quality of the meat, JPY 2300 is a very reasonable price. It was a great meal!
