この日は東久留米で用事を済ませた後。
駅の近くにある和食店「鈴亭」さんに入りました。
人気店だけあってランチタイムも大盛況。
あっという間に満席になりました。
1人なのでカウンター席に着き、予約していた松花堂弁当をオーダーしました。
「松花堂」の名は江戸時代初期の社僧であった松花堂昭乗に因むもの。
昭乗は農家が種入れとして使っていた器をヒントにこの形の器を作り、絵具箱や煙草盆として使用していた。
昭和の初め、貴志彌右衛門邸内の茶室「松花堂」で茶事が催された折、彌右衛門が後年日本屈指の名料亭「吉兆」の創始者となる湯木貞一に、この器で茶懐石の弁当をつくるようにと命じたのがはじまり。

生ビールを飲みながら待っていると豪華な料理が提供されました。
★松花堂弁当
十字形の仕切りの中には刺身、焼き魚、天ぷら、煮物などが見栄え良く配置されています。
弁当箱の他には茶碗蒸し、吸い物、お新香、ご飯、デザートが付いています。
旬の食材を丁寧に仕込んだ料理は目にも美しく優しい味わい。
どの料理も素材の味を生かし上品な仕上がりになっています。
特に美味しかったのが焼き魚。
パリッと香ばしく焼かれた皮、身はしっとりして箸でほぐれる柔らかさでした。
手軽に食べることができる幕の内弁当に対して、松花堂弁当は懐石料理の流れを汲んだ立派な料理。
格調高く贅沢な一時を過ごすことが出来ました。
