■ Overview
A long-established udon shop that has been in business for over 80 years.
Family-run, it currently has two locations in Maruyama-cho and Tomigaya in Shibuya.
The interior is adorned with many old-fashioned toys, creating a retro atmosphere.
■ Menu
The udon is based on a classic kake udon, with a wide variety of toppings available.
The pride of the shop seems to be its handmade udon, made on-site.
On this day, I enjoyed the beef tendon udon (JPY 740).
■ Impression
In an area filled with stylish bistros and cafes, this shop stands out with its charming retro vibe.
It's easy to enter even as a solo diner and is the perfect spot for a quick meal.
The beef tendon udon I ordered was a hearty dish piled high with simmered beef tendon and konnyaku on top of the noodles.
The default portion is quite generous, so I recommend avoiding the large size during your first visit.
The udon noodles have a handmade, irregular texture, providing a smooth and enjoyable mouthfeel.
They are easy to eat, lacking in firmness.
The beef tendon includes both tender and crunchy pieces, allowing me to enjoy different textures and flavors.
With such a wide selection, I look forward to trying a different udon next time.
It was a great meal.

■ Impression
In an area filled with stylish bistros and cafes, this restaurant stands out with its nostalgic vibe and character. The last time I visited, I found it was easy to dine alone, allowing me to have a quick udon meal, so I decided to return.
The portions of udon are substantial by default, so I recommend coming hungry.
The noodles have an irregular shape, which is indicative of being hand-made. They have a firm texture and a smooth finish, along with a delightful aroma of wheat that makes them addictive.
The broth has a gentle flavor profile, using no unnecessary seasonings, and it pairs nicely with the soy sauce and tempura available on the table.
With such a wide variety of udon types available, I look forward to trying a different udon next time. It was a great meal.
