The opening day |

Tonight I ate at "Chat Gatto". I made a reservation by phone. There was a time when they opened at 2pm, but now they open at 5pm. The name of the restaurant is said to be a combination of the Italian and French words for "cat". On the day, several people came in without notice, but they had to give up because the restaurant was full. Reservations are required even for one person. The menu is now only a la carte. "Gnocchi with Cavolo Nero, Kale, Pancetta, and Tomato Sauce" 1,900 yen. "Roasted Wild Boar" 3,300 yen. "Homemade Bread" 350 yen. "Basil Sorbet" 400 yen. "Direct Fire Iced Coffee" 450 yen. The total came to 6,400 yen (tax included). If no drinks are ordered, a table charge of 500 yen will be added, so it is essentially a one-drink system. I think the "gnocchi" could have been a little more al dente. It was a little soggy... Today's dish was "Roast Wild Boar", and it was fillet, but the meat was so hearty and powerful that I've never eaten such red meat. It was paired with a sauce of walnuts and capers... it looks like miso, but it's not. The accompanying roasted vegetables were just as good as the wild boar. They were like good rivals competing for the leading role. The final dish was "Basil Sorbet", which was really basil. It had a refreshing aftertaste... it was excellent. The "Direct Fire Ice Coffee" that went with the sorbet was also delicious and refreshing. We spent about 2 hours leisurely... if we could talk to the staff a little more, the atmosphere would be even better. It was a restaurant that made me want to come back a little more...
