1980年代、まだクラフトビール、という言葉もなく、輸入ビールも珍しかった頃、神保町に1軒のビアバーができ、外国人で賑わってたという。それが『ブラッセルズ』。
携帯やPCも一般的でなく、ましてやSNSもなかった時代、お店の情報は新聞やグルメ本でしか得られなかったけど、ブラッセルズ、という名前だけは知る人ぞ知る店として有名でした。
それから時代を経て、日本のクラフトビールもレベルが上がり、輸入ビールも当たり前になった今、良い時代になったな、と思うと共にちょっと昔が懐かしくなり、思い立って神保町にやって来ました。
▫️お通し
ネギとイカのぬたです。ヘルシーでビールの味を邪魔しない、いいアテです。
▫️サンフーヤン セゾン
柑橘系の爽やかな香りが心地よく鼻に抜けます。
苦味は控えめでスッキリと飲み飽きない。好みです。
▫️シメイ レッド
久しぶりの修道院ビール。「レッド」はダークな茶色が特徴的。
シメイ専用グラスで飲むとフルーティな香りが楽しめます。
苦味はイメージよりは控え目。ベルギービールらしい芳醇な味わいです。
店の人は３０代後半でしょうか、日本のクラフトビールも美味しくなったな、という昔話に付き合ってくれてましたが、よくよく考えるとブラッセルズができた頃はまだ小さな子供だったのかも。
ビール好きの魂が受け継がれていくお店ですね。
ふと、最近TV CMで流れている曲のワンフレーズを思い浮かべました。
「繋いで 伝えて 時代は流れ 変わり続ける
